I found it very difficult to hear the commentary above the music. Other than that, well done.
Same!
Try using the captions and lower the volume. Might be better. ?
@@EKA201-j7f Great idea, except, i am visually impaired.
@@MaryAlice61 Ah sorry it won't work for you. I do it a lot because of my problem.
Worst audio mixing yet, but the information was amazing.
I could have actually enjoyed this , but so often there are those
screwed up producers that think they must slam a lot of load noise
& sounds & music over
top of the narrator . You can barely hear the narrator & the whole effect is displeasure .
Unable to enjoy it because of poor production quality. I love this type of program but the narration is a big part of it.
One note: The audio really needs to be much louder. When commercials interrupt the video, they are much, much louder than the documentary. And when I play the doc on my tv, I have to turn the volume up about 7 times the normal levels.
This is lovely! Thank you for such a great doc, with a very good narrator. It's so clear that he loves his subject and knows so much about it. Excellent! A pleasure to watch, and thank you for not using flashy quick editing to seem cool. This is the way I love looking at antiquities, with slow pans and long shots of everything! Thank you !
I concur.
Exactly what I was thinking upon first glance
Thanks-you ,I love all your séries
Makes you wonder why the Vatican would be in possession and preserving pagan gods of other religions.
Music is too loud, I can’t hear the voiceover.
It would be wonderful to see these beautiful pieces returned to Egypt ✨🙏🏼🤍
Yea, so Hawass can sell them on the Black Market and pocket the money as the criminal he is... Be better to turn them over to the British Museum.
Molti pezzi provengono non dall'Egitto ma da ROMA e dalla Villa Adriana a TIVOLI (ITALIA)!
25:00 Ptolemy I Soter was not a descendant of Alexander the Great, he was a Macedonian General and companion of Alexander, and took part in the Wars of the Diadochi for Alexander's succession, in which he consolidated his control over Egypt. There was no blood relationship between Ptolemy I and Alexander.
I LOVE how often people get this wrong!
@@lisalisahi Ptolemy I tried to legitimate his hold on Egypt by claiming he was descended from Alexander's father, Philip II of Macedon, by another woman, Arsinoe of Macedon. No evidence was ever found for this. I'm guessing it confused some people through the millenia.
True since Alexander the Great never had children
@@baclamom Actually, he had a son (Alexander IV). Cassander had both him and his mother Roxana poisoned when he was a teenager.
@@captainaverage7763 huh, I didn’t know that.
Its astonishing to see in person. Incredible art and grandeur.
Perhaps these should be returned to Egypt and the other countries they came from.
It just goes to show that what the Egyptians did to get into the after life works, it may not be what they imagined was an afterlife but we are here today looking and talking about them, so they did achieve it.
Yeah because luckily whites didn’t invade that region of Earth otherwise no matter how grand they would of destroyed and stollen all of it. Look at the AMERICAS, especially the USA and Canada. There were pyramids everywhere including Northern Mexico USA AND CANADA with ancient civilizations but are never mentioned in fact they are covered up. As if these never existed in ancient times and history.
You gotta a point👍😉😊
I love your series
This life isn't the afterlife.. So, no, it doesn't work.
I was there, a beautiful exposition. I saw so many granite statues of Sekhmet only in the temple of Mut in Luxor! 💗
No you weren't
Hey Ancient Sites !....I watched this when Curtis first released it. I had no idea the Vatican had such a wonderful Egyptian collection. Anyway, I look forward to your next vid.....peace to ya.
@@dazuk1969 Regards, next week I will upload a video ;)
Good on you my friend. Would love to see your videos and hopefully learn something from watching them. When do you think you’ll be uploading….?
Ps: just subscribed to your channel. 👍🏻
@@daveince834 Hi David, Ancient Sites is a great channel if you like your ancient history....quality content on a wide variety of topics....peace to ya.
I like Mr. Woodside. I’ve never seen him before. He has such passion and enthusiasm for the subject matter. I hope we see more of him. Excellent episode.
In the ground is where these objects belong.. the music drowns you out. Either raise your voice or lower the annoying music.
Very interesting but I would be interested in their deep dark archive where they could be hiding many truths.
Thank you so much!!!!
Got voice sound? The music is at a good level. Too bad I can't hear the whispering.
Wow. Finally something not blocked in the UK
Finally! A new documentary on the subject of Ancient Egypt. My favorite😁😁
Love his energy. Like Mary Beard where their passion is dripping. Awesome
It would be nice to visit Rome and the Vatican and visit the museums and ancient sites soon
History is always quite interesting, especially after I have visited Egypt 🇪🇬
Great film. New information. Loved it. Thank you Ryan
Having a segment in the beginning of the video talking about how it’s ad free is downright offensive when there was four ads in the first five minutes
Sound is too low
Wow! I learned so much here about Egypt more than any documentary ever. Thank you, and such beautiful presentation.
this is good but it need re production for the sound
- fantastic beautiful and interesting film! - I hope you'll make many more! /m/
I wish your normal speaking voice was also the narrating voice. There is no need to put on that really slow, droney, "artistic" quality, other than that nitpicking, love the video :).
Awesome collection. It would be nice to visit Rome and the Vatican and visit the museums and ancient sites soon
Wouldn't it? I'm watching all these things/places virtually because I won't ever make it - make sure you see the Sistine chapel!! I always wanted to go but I was able to see it all up close virtually yesterday.✌️
Such poor audio… the producers of a program of this quality should know better…
Very well done. Mr. Woodside was able to highlight customs I had never heard of in the Egyptian world and the statues and drawings in the yellow coffins are truly beautiful works of art. What was it about the Egyptians that made their art so beautiful and life like;yet with an almost childlike quality? Absolutely fastinating!
Absolutely disgusting stealing these artifacts, GIVE THEM BACK!!!
Earned a dislike from me due to extremely poor audio mixing. I could only understand about 1 in 3 words spoken.
Why not be grateful that you could hear one word? Some people don't even have that.
Fascinating topic but the sound mix makes it impossible for me to watch. The music and "sounds" twice to three times louder than the narrator. Turn it up to hear what is being said, blasted out of chair by some "music?".
Audio is so low can't hear it
I don’t understand why the Vatican has all these Egyptian statuary and mummies. Why they have such riches and live in such luxury, when so many in the world are starving….
Exactly!! Makes one wonder doesn't it. There's more to the story than what's been told, that's for sure!
@@alohajenn You got that correct. Read L. Graham's "DECEPTIONS AND MYTHS IN THE BIBLE"
I look at the WONDERFUL things, artwork from THOUSANDS of years ago and it never ceases to amaze me the ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL works of art that humans turned out...and yet, here we are today murdering each other off like a bunch of crazed animals. What is wrong with "humans"? Of course, God did give us "Free Will"...and you'd think we would use it for keeping ourselves ALIVE, instead of ever inventing newer, deadlier, more disgusting and horrific ways of bringing about death.... It would help a lot for certain countries still embracing a sick, barbaric mindset to step fully into THIS century, leaving the futility of ignorance and war behind once and for all. Sorry, my soapbox was gathering dust, so I just had to dust it off for a moment or two and toss a few words into the fray of today's sadness. Beauty from the PAST into the glaring, snarling horrors of humanity TODAY...so damned sad.
The Music is awfully loud.....the commentator tried hypnotize me into a deep sleep. I love history documentory's, but this one I cut short after 3 minutes. Sorry.....awfull.
Soft-spoken delicate quiet speakers should not be narrators if you're going to play loud music instead of background music. Very imbalanced audio and the visuals were not worth trying to put up with the bad audio.
I think this host is wonderful😎
Such a beautiful man inside and out
Beautiful to see it again, great job, thank you! ❤️
Very fascinating... yet frustrating audio. Hats off for the doc, any remaster planned 😉
Why don’t you talk about the imposible tecnology, and the real age of this monuments? Pure desinformation here...
Learn English
The music is too loud against the commentary. The filming is frustrating the way it keeps going in and out of focus and rarely shows the object in its entirety. The chronology, context and relevance of objects is insufficiently explained and just jumps from one thing to another without explanation of its exact origin, when found or why it is in the Vatican. In conclusion this video is too superficial and neither properly educates or describes what it should.
Why didn’t you guys record anything about the Assyrian rooms? Weird how there’s little to no info on these rooms online. Wish I woulda known before I visited so I could video and photo the entire exhibit. Very strange rooms depicting ancient gods of Mesopotamia that relate to so called “anunnaki”. Makes you think about how much more there is down below in the archives that they are hiding
Give the history back to the people it belongs with
It’s sad that this video is spoilt by the American dedication to loud music drowning out any useful dialogue.
Fascinating documentary and thanks for sharing.
Please fix the audio, or why even put this on when it is so bad.
Wonderful information. Never knew. Thank you
Please fix the level of sound. The music is overpowering the script.
How the caving a hard granite stone?
How the find?
Excellent job.
Ancient egyptians used strange tools for spiritual reasons, in Heliopolis and in other places. Check on yt: "The egyptian key of life, a spiritual tool to give energy"
The Pope “Thou shall not steal”. Seems a wee bit hypocritical to put ancient artifacts on display that CLEARLY belong to another nation. However, when you have a person like Zahi Hawass heading the Minister of State for Antiquities for so long with a reputation that’s less than impeccable…it’s probably best those artifacts stay at the Vatican.
Zahi hawass has a bad reputation? Why is that?
@@sforza209 he's allegedly been involved in the sales of (looted) and legally recovered artifacts. However charges were all dropped I believe.
Unsure of exact details but many locals say he's corrupt & is heavily involved in the black market trade.
Yep, it's crazy to me how he's seemingly gotten away with so much .... corruption!
I completely agree!
Zahi hawas is working with the Vatican.....
The mummy of the singer I found interesting to say the least. If only we could hear her songs...
Can't hear the commentary 😕
Thanks
ALL THE TREASURES SHOULD BE RETURNED
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
thank you for the knowledge.
I stopped watching after a few minutes. You can't even hear the narration.
@@comparedtowhat2719 Hearing Aid? LOL Okay buddy
Editor needs to think about fx volumes.... Music overpowers the words and cant hear anything... 2 and a half mins in and im done...
Unwatchable because of the music
"In plain sight"? It's a museum.
I find it strange the Vatican would collect these things . The Egyptians were not even close to being Catholic .
The old testament writes a lot about the Egyptians. Jesus spoke of the Old Testament in terms of actual history. UK, France and Germany drove much of what we now call archaeology in the 1800's as Europeans searched for evidence that the bible was true. (search "Nineveh Archaeology")
Ohhhh they have a lot! Research and you will understand why the Vatican collect these things! It will be very interesting what you uncover!
Well shake my money maker very interesting 🤔 good program 👍
Live this channel
Catholic religion resembles a lot the ancient Egyptian religion seems it was copied from it.
They did copy....the Vatican is wanting the world to believe they are the creator and not Africa. these artifacts should be returned.
While very well presented, where are the "hidden treasures"? The initial piece made by the Pope was very interesting but then after that the information is Egyptology 101. Give us a deep dive
The music is so distracting to hear voice. I was disappointed I could not hear better
Nice video, but enough with the music.
Greetings,
It is to see that they withwash some of the statutes❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All these Egyptian artefacts belong in the Cairo Museum. it's about time they return them back to Egypt, I think the countrys who have Egyptian artefacts should give them back
What I'm concerned with is. WHY would the Vatican want IDOLS? God was extremely specific about this. I wouldn't step one foot on that property.
Learn about the real Vatican and their true beliefs, then you'll understand. Even with these idols, most of them have been faked and/or altered. These are the artifacts open to the public.
@@wildwaning9427 an idol is an idol. No thanks. I'll worship in spirit only like I was told.
Jesuits!!
“Collected”
Someone messed up on the audio …
Why is it you all love these museums that are filled with OUR culture and yet hate our people!!!
A very excellent question.
I hope everything is good but now after 2 years of my income being gone you ask for help who was there to help when my truck was repossessed or when they foreclosed on my house how about you send me a couple hundred grand so I can get my stuff back ......lets start there
I'm shocked that there exists a piece with Hatshepsut's name and face on display, rather than being chiseled out.
@@JeffPDX1 Feminists exist because of women hating gay men or lonely with zero game men that can’t get a woman, just like your bitter self. Stop your cowardly accusation, relax, stop thinking men are better than women. Instead start respecting women and treat them as your equal you’ll see how quickly your fate changes. Unless of course you are a gay man who doesn’t even care for his daughters mother sisters and all women in your life so why would you change your nasty way?
I was hoping this guy wasn’t going to narrate this show. I love this channel but this guy is putting me to sleep.
Stone work and recordings makes me realize how invisible our present day civilizations on Earth will become if we were to become extinct or almost extinct. New human civilizations will never be able to understand the way we lived and will eventually come to the conclusion most of our way of life will never be understood making up theories and assumptions on the very little left of our trace. Everything made is disposable including our buildings. Nothing compares to boulder and rock massive constructions to everyday necessary objects they used and even written recordings left embedded on rocks.
Khufu did not build the Great Pyramid and the pyramids were not tombs. You're believing the lies. The pyramids are much older than we are told. If the Egyptians were so advanced 4,000 years ago, then why are they a 3rd world country today? We can't build a pyramid like the Grear Pyramid today so how did a 3rd world country do it back then? Answer, they didn't.
Narrator confuses "the Virgin Mary's Immaculate Conception" with her "becoming pregnant with the Son of God." The former actually refers to Mary being conceived in her mother's womb, without stain of Original Sin. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8th. The Feast of the Nativity of Mary (ie her birthday) follows nine months later (the length of a human gestation) on September 8th. The Catholic Church commemorates the Incarnation of the Son of God in Mary's womb as "the Annunciation" (because of the Angel Gabriel announcing to Mary that the Holy Spirit will overshadow her and she shall conceive a Son). The Feast of the Annunciation is celebrated on March 25th, nine months before Christmas Day. That's as far a I got in the video; maybe the narrator knows more about ancient Egyptian stuff than about Christianity but wanted to include some jargon that sounded Catholic.
I completely missed that. the video was good though.. not vilifying the church or anything like that. just about egyptian art in the vatican.
I blame the general confusion on Madonna (the one from Michigan, not Nazareth) and dull CCD classes.
I gotta admit, it's a great name for an album, however un-Orthodox it might be.
Correct and this is how original facts or stories get shifted and why they make no sense.
Folks for that Constatine and his Priests established Christainity in the 4th Century , rather than Yeshua/Jesus, or his Apostles, whom were afterall "practicing Judiasm".
The Mainstream Academia - Archaeologist's Paradigm is fully based on a 19th Century Theory, its coming unravelled, as the Genetics Studies are Lab Science.
The Public is so hungry for facts.
Yes, but it's all mythology, sagas, epics, and folklore.
Ugh the music is wat too loud
The music is so good and the guy’s voice is so soothing omg❤️❤️😭
Perfection
What an excellent and informative documentary this was.
"Collected" = Stolen
everybody else has to repatriate stolen art why not the vatican .
Cry some more 😭😭😭. Welcome to humanity
I was so mortified by the museum’s collection that I shoved my way through a crowd of Japanese tourist and burst out a “No Exit” door. Shame on the Vatican and their ill gotten gains.
The pope will take care of your kids p g
@@roxannelittlefield8150 this is not owned by the Vatican they are merely caretakers of this heritage of the world. much like the Vatican Library. all these knowledge are for the world not just for their gain, because as they teach all knowledge is from God and to understand God, that's why they also have an observatory. you see, If those paintings sculptures, books, documents from ancient time werent in Catholic hands where would they be now? lost to us forever.
Can’t listen to this because of loud background music and shrieking noise at 2:57. Never mind, presentation is ruined.
