Haha I actually did that Lyn chapter a few days ago and was immediately annoyed they chose that map. Thankfully it's a little better in Engage but still such an annoying map.
I always find it interesting how they chose an fe6 chapter to represent lyn in engage... as opposed to one of her own personal chapters. Has her own story mode, but i guess sacae representation comes first, and man, was that a decision that was made. As a side note, i find it funny that one of, if not your least favorite chapter was redone for engage, because the chapter in fire emblem i despise the most (despite fe6 being my favorite game) is chapter 21... and guess which map they chose for roy in engage.

Your opinion is wrong and I hate you RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE Nah but really I just personally think it's an awful chapter that puts together the worst aspects of fe6, with ambush spawns, seige tomes, overly large maps, low accuracy on bosses, and enemy crit rates. You're free to think differently but for me I can't help but despise it, and would much rather play arcadia.
@@isuckatgaming1873 Yeah but at that time, it makes sense cause you’re fighting the entire army of Bern and also your team is strong enough to handle everything at that point.
@@voltron77 except, you know, when ambush spawns come in and one shot your mages, and gang up on your units because they can fly and there is terrain everywhere that cannot be traversed by anyone but fliers, which the ambush spawns are and since the paths are so cramped you can't avoid havening empty spaces next to units, stopping you from fully protecting everyone, meanwhile you can't travel slowly as a ball because there is a turn limit on the map where if you take too many turns you cannot get the apocalypse and therfore cannot obtain the true ending and furthermore as you approach the final area it spawns even more ambush spawns on top of the manaketes and bolting that are there in the area, and then you have to deal with Murdock on the throne, who admittedly isn't the hardest boss but fe6 thrones still introduce an unessessary level of rng even against a late game armor knight You really shouldn't justify bad map design with it being a late level or a face off against Bern. Chapter 23 of fe6 manages to give the same feelings as "Bern going all out" or "berns last stand" without the same issues by expressing what the level is going to do very clearly through the preparations menu, and reinforcements only spawning in distant locations, assuming you have reasonable movement stats and not like, 14 movement. That would be like justifying how terrible the 2nd to last level of fe8 is by saying the monsters are going all out. That level is an absolute slog, and it constantly reaches the 50 enemy spawn limit, and for no real gameplay reason. There are ways to give story moments without detracting from the gameplay experience.

Oh yeah, people always say Ilia is so much easier but there are still some very annoying levels there.

Both times I did sacae gaiden I had to seize every single throne to find the right one

Lol I did that paralogue after I made this video and was surprised to see this map. It was not as bad in engage but still really annoying.

You are correct, I think I confused it with the last gaiden chapter in the game because they look king of similar and that is fog of war.
