How does the pre amp turn on and off? Is there a toggle?

I just run it without the battery, it's possible but limits you to the 25k pot

What about noise? How it's feels, i mean it looks like usual pickup, i think it will boost noises too.
Yeah the noise is there a little I have a noise gate so at first I was like “ this thing sounds amazing” but with out it, it can get annoying
