Tsukki is the embodiment of slow burn. But I love him every step of the way. Also yes, Suga is a very sweet guy, and his determination to make the team be the best team they can be, even if he sits out on a practice match, is so admirable.
I'm not on the patreon so it's very probable that its already been explained but Japanese Highschool isn't zoned based admission so a student does have to pass academic entrance exams. Basically every team in the prefecture wanted Kageyama but he's not very good at traditional academics and just failed the entrance exams to the schools he applied too. Karasuno was the best team attached to a school he could actually get into academically. This is also why Hinata is constantly shown riding a bike to a different town each morning. He was dead set on going to Karasuno instead of his local high school and applied there even though its a lot father then would seem reasonable. Takeda-sensei makes his debut! 😀 His name comes from a famous show about a high school teacher in Japan called "Mr. Kinpachi of Class 3B" (3年B組金八先生). It's an iconic show that addressed all sorts of issues like bullying, coming out, hikikomori, and overcoming struggles. Kinpachi-sensei is like the idealized teacher/mentor. He was played by the actor Takeda Tetsuya. Haikyu's teacher is named after him: Takeda Ittetsu.
Kageyama is actually considered a genius setter and a volleyball prodigy. Unlike your big fish in a small pond analogy suggests, he’s good by the standards of all of high school volleyball. Aoba johsai knows he’s good and want to see how good he is to strategize for official matches.
The small pond is supposed to be Kitagawa Daiichi, where nobody shared his level of passion and also didn't have his same level of talent to keep up with him. He's since entered the sea after starting high school. But what you said is also true.

Btw you don't have to force yourself to talk all the time! I love when reactors pay their full attention to everything that happens in the episode. That just makes a general analysis more deep and your understanding of the plot and characters more accurate
my only advice is to try not to let the karasuno loyalty cloud your judgement of characters on rival teams too much. pretty much all of the characters in this anime (and relationships between characters) are super well written, and i've seen many people miss out on some really interesting characters because they were hard-wired to hate the "antagonists." with how much thought your analyses have had so far and how on-point they've been idk if i should even be saying this, but i think it's something worth mentioning.
I wouldn't do that. These are all high schoolers chasing their own dreams, even if Karasuno is our main cast, their dreams are no more valid than anyone elses!

I think everyone does subconsciously to some degree. But definitely not like I do when I watch shows lol. I always try to learn/gain something from the media I watch, I feel like that is a big part of the value of it and appreciating the creators vision.
