1. Better space
2. Better engine ( noise not considered)
3. Better after sale maintenance
4. Better fuel efficient
5. Don't have turbo lag

They needed to evolve. VW and nissan were also in same path but they are changing their strategy. People need to learn from Kia. Their 1st product itself got hit and they made lot of money.

S cross is far far better then eco sport... legspace, better interiors, good visibility, better boot space , new SVHS engine with start stop feature, amazing mileage and over all Maruti nexa brand which is far far better then ford in India , easy to maintain and excellent after sales value. After all s cross is the best.
Rare space & comfort, wheel base, leg room & shoulder room and Mileage, must be crucial parameters in any comparison and it shouldn't be Ignore by any reviewer.
Any 5 seater car should be comfortable for both, Person who driving the car as well as the person who is at rate seat.

Personal experience as on 22.08.21- Honda City Diesel Engine sucked rainwater from exhaust pipe into the Engine. Exhaust pipe started pumping white smoke and Service Center quoted Rs 3 lakhs for repair whereas Local Mechanics in Hyderabad quoted Rs 1 lakh. Generally, people start the engine in panic when the car is stuck in rainwater(Caution: Do not start the engine, call Service center/Insurance customer care and get your car towed otherwise you won't be able to utilize Insurance and you may have to pay from your own pocket). I agree with what Gagan says- If you want to buy Honda City, go only for Petrol Engine. Wish I had seen this video before buying Honda City Diesel Version. Thanks Gagan, for sharing this Valuable information :)

You did not mention mileage comparison. For us Indians, it is very important.
S-Cross is a spacious family car for 5, Ford Ecosport is a car for 4 and very congested compared to S-Cross.
It is also 5 seater 🙄

You are saying verna is better than honda city but you are not taking into account the huge maintainence cost which comes with the verna, i’m saying this as i have been an owner of the verna , honda city & volkswagen vento and i think honda city or vento are a far better choice than the verna, also the vento has a automatic diesel option with a 7 speed dsg gearbox which is a real joy to drive and it also has the best build quality of the trio. Another car you missed was the wr-v which has far more features than the s-cross and eco-sport. So in short, you should not be giving advice on which car to buy. Please don’t mislead people without having the proper information
Harsh Verma WRV sucks in comparison to its competitors. Giving a mere sunroof doesnt make a car superior to others. Diesel Engine lacks the punch, you can feel the potholes, infotainment system is not at per with Nexon or Eco sport, misses out on bells & whisles like projector headlamps. Safety features also legs conpared to eco sports. So just dont comment for sake of commenting

S cross maybe expensive when compared to it's competitors.
But you got to drive this car to know it.
Drive i20 for 10 hrs and drive s cross for another 10 hrs you will see y people spend so much money on this car.
I have both i20 and an s cross. Drive both on long trips and s cross brought me to the destination all fresh and full of energy, whereas I cannot say the same thing for i20.
I do like Gagan bhais reviews. But shocked to see s cross on this list while you have so much of praise for i20.

S-cross is best in this segment
Bro!! just look at the zeta variant it's a steal in that price. Quality, fit and finish, sheet metal quality, comfort, handling is just in another level compared to ecosport. Only downside is the engine(only when compared on paper, actually the torque to weight and power to weight ratio speaks that both are same......you can even check it). Safety is on par with ford ecosports and the variant of ecosports costs around 1lakh more than s cross zeta.
Pros of ecosports:
->Good engine
->Good Ground Clearance(Although I have not scrapped my S cross anywhere even with full load with 180mm GC)
Prose of S cross/Cons of Ecosport:
->Good Brakes(4 disk brakes)
->Better Comfort
->Better Mileage :)
->Comparing Zeta to other competitors in that price bracket, has enough safety features
->Premium interiors
->Cruise Control starting from Zeta.....which is present only in the topmost ecosports variant costing around 2 lakhs more
->Projector headlamps, all the variants
->Touch Screen Infotainment System with apple carplay and android auto......after update ecosports only has it in the topmost variant
->Proper 5 seater(Ecosport is practically a 4 seater)
->Interior space(Almost feels like double than that of ecosports)
Comming to my driving experience...the 1.3ddis is not that bad...let me tell you a trick in highways you need to reach around 100/80/90 once....set cruise to that speed. Then say a situation came you decreased your speed to 60kmph.....now you need to increase your speed to overtake someone.....just hit the resume button....it will just pullllllll upto 100kmph or any speed you have set it to. You will never feel it underpowered and the rock solid stability, as well as comfort and driving confidence at those speeds is something you will not get in Ecosports for sure.

1. Ecosport V S-cross : ford parts are more expensive than maruti, availibilty,etc.
2. City V Verna : city has more mileage, reliability, city backseats are at good height than verna(i have a city 2016, so we have checked out verna) but if you drive fast and need better response then pls. buy verna it has best diesel engine in the segment.

No car is good or bad...A car is manufactured after lot of R&D. It depends upon a person's liking n budget. For few refinement in a car matters a lot but for others power n aggressiveness is more important. I drove Hyundai Accent 1.6 L n loved it a lot for power n pick. But the I switched to Honda ZX 2007 VTEC and literally became a fan of Honda built. It is not that Wagon R is bad but that better cars might have come in the market

The main reason of wagon r still in top 05 is due to its driving position, handling, ease of egress ingress, road view from drivers seat these are unbeatable till date even its looks are outdated. No match for these and this sweet spot has not been found in the alternative given by you. I do Owen Celerio amt, duster and wagon r 2010 old model but my first choice for city drive is WagonR.

i am planning to buy s-cross Zeta model. i think it is better than ecosports. as far as build quality is concerned yes ecosports is better, but has very less space inside cabin. rear seating also is not so good for 3 persons. why compromise on space, if we have to live with it everyday. for my requirement s-cross is much better!
