This might be really simplistic, but if the question at the heart of terrible suffering is, "Can the God that made everything be trusted, is he good?" Does that mean suffering itself a form of persecution from Satan? To tempt us to deny God? But like with the actual persecution of the church, if in the face of it people refuse to deny Him, the persecution/suffering/death is mysteriously transfigured into glory? As you said, it's like a trick against evil?
It's difficult to say for every situation what suffering is for and if Satan or God or something else is the cause. But like you said, there are ways it is transformed into Glory. That is beyond us or our capabilities. It's something God does. We have to go through it, but He will give the crown. And it's like you said, it's kind of a trick. If you preserver, you get a crown, every time. It's like a law of the universe.
The fact that he cant differentiate between the pagan and Jewish version is so disheartening to me. I was glad when i first saw PVKs response to this. He fails to grasp that the God of monotheism is both the Creator of Order and Chaos and not at war with Chaos. He plays with it
Great stuff!
Thanks!
4:36 oh the irony, considering how he doesn't read this book carefully at all
😆

Right He is the one that in his wisdom uses order and chaos to achieve his ends: True children made in his image.
