Probably the most deep-cut fan favorite from GNR. This song has always stood out for the fans. Slash's best work imo, and a great lyric and vocal from Axl.
Edit: It's been a while, I remember more guitar. I got it backwards, Slash wrote a great piece of music, but Axl poured it out here, and owned this song. This is up there with Civil War as one of their greatest songs.
I saw Guns N' Roses perform this back in 2016 in Orlando, Florida and Axl sounded great and Slash guitar playing was great

Guns N' Roses is one of my all time favorite bands and Coma is one of my favorite songs from them. They're now doing this song on their Reunion tour.

@@rperez949 it was supposed to be a part of the trilogy which would make it a quad- whatever but they never finished. It would’ve been the song after Estranged in sequence

Subscribed because you did this song. Definitely my favourite GnR song and right up there with one of the best songs ever in my opinion. It was written about Axl's issue with addiction and one particular incident where he had a death/near death experience. The medical sound effects on the track are real and the voices are apparently from the real medics who worked on him, they recreated the scene vocally. It was Slash's favourite song at the time and probably still is. Axl took a long time coming up with the lyrics but managed to get the last part of the lyrics done in one attempt. Prior the breakup of the band in the 90's, they only played the song twice live. Since reforming, it's been a staple part of the setlist, Axl made sure it was on the there as it was Slash's favourite song.
Guns and Roses had the best catalog of songs that didn't get played on the radio. You'd think you were hearing their best stuff on the radio until you bought the CD and heard Coma and a few others.

Every time I catch a reacter listening to deeper cuts rather than the same old crap everyone asks you to react to I remember just how fucking awesome deeper cuts are. Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O'mine are all trash compared to songs like this. Other great deeper cuts are "Dead Horse", " Pretty Tied Up", "Yesterdays" , "Locomotive" "14 Years", "It's So Easy", "Out To Get Me", "Breakdown" are all fantastic GnR songs, their best in my honest opinion and yeah I'm leaving a few out.
Oh and if you want a great laugh listen to "Get in the Ring" the song they wrote tearing up rock magazine journalists who they were pissed at for writing articles about them that they claim were not true. They actually name the journalists too. Axel is PISSED!
