Looks like you've been staying busy with the break in the weather! Also for the heat shields I recommend painting them with Rustoleum BBQ paint. I've used it countless times on exhaust parts and never had an issue, it's always lasted.
None of this past are welded is that correct? My Nissan frontier has the same compatibility with the xterra and the cat needs to be replaced, I’m just a little nervous to do it myself, but I feel like I can do it
I’m trying to fix the passenger side manifold but I can’t get to the last bolt behind the converter under the manifold to the left even if separate the manifold and the Cat I want to take the pipe off and slide it down but it is so rusty I’m going to have to cut it like you said in the video when I replace the bolts right there what kind should I get and you got any suggestions?
@@segoviagarza360 You have a choice, you can get a used engine from the junk yard and hope it is in decent condition or can get a reman engine such as a Jasper engine. The Jasper engine will be quite a bit more expensive, but would be like a new engine. Just buying a block and then rebuilding it yourself can be expensive in that you will also have to buy your bearings and also hope the engine heads and intake are not damaged.
Make sure you compare the new cat to the factory original, they can look exactly correct but they cut the size of the material inside almost in half, then you will that code back every time fyi
@@FixingWithPassion It wont set a code right away drive it at 45 or over for a log while, if it doesnt come back then your golden, Dont know if you watch Advanced Level Auto but he just did a very good video on just this problem. Keep up the good work Nathan
Quick question does the catalytic converter’s do to your car jerks off I have change multiple things and doesn’t fixed the only thing I haven’t change is that
Hey Nathan! Over in Cali here. Couple things I wanted to share. My mechanic told me that running premium can turn that light off for a smog test, it’s gotten me through twice running a couple tanks beforehand. Also, when dealing with that airbag light, if it comes back on, check this out www.clubxterra.org/threads/air-bag-light-blinking.9336/
Thanks for the great content. The details in your explanations on specific repairs are so true for many X owners.

Great job..btw whats the company you got the cats from..got to do both sides
I search on eBay. Good deals on there. Just make sure you have NO engine codes!
Did you have any codes before the new cats..also where you located..im in ny and the catalyst and o2 sensor im not getting ready.
Definitely got 2 codes..and nyc emissions is a PITA😅
Good video! Any suggestions on how to remove the Grille and headlight assemblies?
Did you used to do weather in Bridgeport / Clarksburg WV? Ran across this video looking into 3.3 Xterras
sorry for my spelling when I type the word "replay " it was to mean "replace "
Got to replace my cat in 2004 3.3 looks like my cat and manifold are one piece. Do you think it would slide out the bottom? Thanks
