  • I just bought a square wave inverter from a second hand store, Today's project, I will convert this square wave inverter into a sine wave inverter. Using module EGS002.

    All my projects are free, I design them on EAGLE 6.0. I uploaded it to Google drive. You need to use a web browser to download the file and open the file with winrar software (extract) on the PC. Open schematic file (.SCH) and PCB file (.BRD) with EAGLE software. Hope you enjoy my videos and projects. Good job regarding the second half of the modification. But the first stage needs modification as it's set to output 270v dc, and you need at least 320v dc to obtain 220v rms ac at the output.

      I think feedback or increasing the oscillating frequency should take care of that.

      @@juliusparker3039 it could, if the transformers have enough headroom (primary:secondary more than or equal to 12:320), which are usually not, as they are usually designed for the cheapest functional ratio (12:270).

    A modified sine wave inverter has a lower output voltage than a real sine wave inverter. Without rewinding the high-frequency transformers, the efficiency will decrease. Try to reach 220/230 volts AC via the EGS002 and then measure the still possible output power and efficiency (watt input watt output). I would be very interested in a Part 2 with these results from this rebuild.

    • @PhdHung
      @PhdHung  4 роки тому

      Yes, on the old inverter, the DC voltage was only 260V. I will rewound the pulse transformer to increase the voltage to 380V.

    • @wernerpeter9706
      @wernerpeter9706 4 роки тому

      @@PhdHung Why 380 volts? It's a single-phase inverter. To effectively achieve 230 volts, 230 x 1.414 = 325 volts is required at the output. Aren't you wasting too much power in the transformer at 380 volts? Can you test the maximum Watt after rebuild? thx

    4) I understand that the EGS002 board comes from the factory to operate in SINGLE PHASE !! And because of that, I only have PWM on pins 8 and 10 of the board. How can I enable the PWM on U2 (EG8010) to have modulated signal on pins 27 and 28 of this integrated circuit? I was comparing this board, with a similar one, that uses a PIC instead of the EG8010, but with the same two UR2110S, and I can see that the four signals (pins 3, 5, 8 and 10) have PWM !!! AND IT WORKS PERFECT !!! I await your valuable answer! Thank you very much!!

For the feedback resistor: it depends on the PSU, not every ATX PSU is the same inside. This is just how most switch mode PSUs work, if I remember correctly.

    Hello, why the VFB feedback (about 2.5V - 2.9V) does not work on the AC output voltage, as it is in most diagrams, that there is a 200k, 10k resistor, 10k potentiometer for voltage threshold adjustment, filtering capacitor. Even the original H-bridge from Aliexpress doesn't work because of this. Only installing a rectifier bridge between one AC output and common ground for everything and adjusting the voltage to about 2.7V gives the effect that the EGS002 does not see overvoltage or too low voltage at the H-bridge output after the 2.5mH-3mH choke and a 2.2uF capacitor / 630V that works approx.

    Hello homemade102!
    Questions: 1) Why do you use FR107 diodes and not 1N4148? 2) Why on the board that you made, the FR107 diodes, are connected to the reverse of what the EG002 datashett shows? 3) In my test of the circuit, I found in the oscilloscope, only PWM signals on pins 8 and 10 of EGS002 = pins 1 and 8 of U1 (IR2110S) = pins 29 and 30 of U2 (EG8010), but I don't have PWM on pins 27 and 28 of U2, not in pins1 and 8 of U3 (IR2110 S) and not in pins 3 and 6 of EGS002? Please, I await your reply! It is very important to me! Thank you very much!! From Argentina.

    I have a old mod sine inverter I'd like to do this with, it's a 12v 1200 watt, with good surge capacity, the sine wave hurts some equipment, like transformer in a small radio, and ballast in florescent light, so I do not use it, will this work with a low frequency Inverter? Or UPS? I haven't looked at it, but I'm thinking it may be a push pull, in the UPS, or is this high frequency only driver?

    Also, modding the EGS002 board to do bipolar modulation made my output much easier to filter. Did a jobby like this on a Waeco pp1002 with very little room for the output chokes and caps. 2x2.2mH on iron powder cores and a 3.3uF barely fit.
    On just half-bridge spwm I was getting 20+V of ripple on the outputs...

Question: can you send me the circuit you used to adapt the board. I mean the board that contains eight resistors, four diodes, four capacitors and the 7805 plus the multiturn presset? Also the connection diagram of the seven white wires? Finally, the voltage of + B High, the various, changing the frequency of the oscillator sg3525, raising it until reaching the necessary working voltage?
    I don't know your name, my name is Jorge !! To what email can I send you inquiries and share information? Thank you very much!!

    Need to rewind the transformers ? from 270V to more than 320V (mine, not this one, is 380 Volts before the H bridge; it will not work well otherwise ?

    I have a modified inverter with 72VAC output. Fan spin slow, lots of noise, feedback POT does nothing.

      Find EGS002 on google, it's very cheap.

    Meaning no es0002 whatever the name of the ic is ..no sine wave...so what if you don't have that ic..can't it still be done..yea how can can it be achieved with small discrete components..

      Using EGS002 is fastest and cheapest.
