• Early 90's Breakbeat H...
You cannot beat Old Skool Dark D&B from 92-94. So glad I was there raving it up in my mid teens. One love.
spec 👊 1 ❤✌ :)
Same here, I’m 46 and I used to go to the limelight, polyesters, the tunnel all NYC clubs, a few upstate Sputnik shows and shit like that. This mix brings me back to that time in my life. Raw beats, floating high hats, snappy snare
Although I am a fan of today's liquid, neurofunk and atmospheric scene, the Drum and Bass of 1993 is much better than the Drum & Bass of 2015.
4 years later, much better than all the shit machine music coming out so far..
fkn right. it was also such a strong movement among the youth. much more than just music. on par with ska, punk etc.
ok... And IMO DnB died when hiphop/rap did. 20 yrs ago.
This is true sir!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
this is hands down one of my favorite mixes ever. it has been years since i first heard it and i keep coming back. it touches me in both my heart and my head and it has made me dance violently like an idiot
Some of these tracks take me right back to my first rave, when I was 5 years old.
some M' , some drops , one of those "green jelly's" and call me the monday ! i gonna stay in front of this speaker for two days ! xDDDD
yeah good times :P (at last for me)
I was born ´75 in Holland, lived all of my teenage years there...no better place on earth to live trough the ´90-s...spending weekends in the coffeeshop...everybody relaxing...trippin´...Holland...the place to be....
What was in the water in 1993! Another cracking mix of some of the most mentally and physically uplifting electronic music of the last 30 years. I was there and still love it today. You can dance or just sit back and listen. It is wonderful stuff...that first track is Nut-E-1 Liquid Affray is INCREDIBLE. I never heard it before - thats the second top class tune I heard for the first time today (the other was VEXXED by DJ FOKUS). KEEP THE MIXES COMING. We are all listening and loving every second...cheers.
Watching him spin ragga jungle was pure mastery of his instruments (t.t.'s and a mixer). It was truly a a lesson in knowing your instrument, like Monk on the piano, or Davis on the horn. Same level of precision and intuition. A THING TO BEHOLD!!
Golden age that will not return ..
sitting stoned under a subwoofer on a drum´n´bass party in Amsterdam
Man now i wanna live that
so much better than the new D&B. Sorry, but I'm an old skool LA underground junkie with a little UK ? flair. I surely miss the old daze.
thank you so much for the download I cant remember the last time I heard a good mix like this, it has to be my favourite of all time I love every single track this is immense!
93 was a special year for breaks/dnb
so were 91, 92, 94, 95 and 96 for that matter
thanks
not forgetting 1990 1989 1988 :)
Jezz Man i agree as much as i can, though i was less aware of breaks then. i had grabbed a few shut up and dance records, some stuff by awesome 3, and the like, but i could use some more education here ;P i also would love to know more about any more good acid house and hip house etc. i had some, but again, not a lot.
also dont forget 1898, 1899, 17888
Angelo Medina I dunno about those years... maybe in the parallel universe you inhabit you could show me some of their busted loops and warper basslines? :)
miss these days of drum and bass, raving in Toronto every weekend
Now this is music!! Still have some of this on vinyl! New decks this weekend!!
Man, some excellent tracks in here that I had totally forgotten about over the years. Fantastic mix.
DAMN where were you guys in my formable years.???? Where I came from it was (and still is) COUNTRY!!! Country hurts my brain and my feelings. I wish I would have known you guys back then.
DUDE. Thanks for this... Awesome hearing the old/good shit again.
left school in 93 bring it back sound shame dj' s do not play this stuff no more not to bad
This is the kind of stuff that used to keep me going in the early to mid nineties driving trucks and vans long distances throughout the night. The nights would fly by and 500+ mile round trips would seem like 50.
Mickey Finn was always a favourite for me also Ray Keith . We had a local dj at the time called worm who was outstanding . Bring them back , kids these days don't know what they missed !
one hell of a good fucken mix...lots of good tunes in here...thanks for sharing and putting up the tracklisting also...cheers from Los Angeles..
Talk bout taking u back to a specific time in your life. Feelin the set.
Dark rider, one of my best all time greats , got it my self on recording vinyl
Drum and Bass from when I was born, love it, nice mix!
oooooooh shiiit we have struck dnb gold here! much love to the uploader for this 1
I liked this almost exactly a year ago.
This is good.
Drum and bass of the 90's just overall sounds so much better, and much more abstract, with its switching up of bass, and melody. Glad to discover this kind of of music tho.
What You Need is NRG.
Great mix. I now know what is blasting in my lab tomorrow. I would say I hope my lab mates like DnB, but don't care..this is flooding the floor.
...and there goes the smooth, bouncy head roll to the speedway sound of the beats lol love it to hell and back
LEGEND !. I've been searching for an eternity to find Old Skool 90's Jungle mixes like this as I've long lost my Fabio & Grooverider mixtapes from back in the day. The Darker the Better."Heeeeeres Johnny" :)
incredible mixtape...fair play mate..absolutely love it!! long live the old skool jungle!!!
RELIEF... from stockpiling youtube crap...
about five years before my discovery of dnb but what a great mix.
I have no idea why DnB is so relaxing.
Maybe because it's like smoking weed
t for tremendous as you often hear the MC saying on 93 sets. i am producing a piece of music set in 1993 where the darkcore vibe is often used to illustrate moods and this mix has helped me so cheers, thanks a lot :)
Bak in the eclipse days, cov. Ratty, Carl Cox, Dj Phantasy, Carl & Luke B2B/banging tunes. Respect for the link, lost this some 20 years baaakkk....
Mad respect from the 814 Bass Crew in Erie PA!
one of the best mixes i have heard !!!!!!
Love the pic. LONG LIVE OLDSKOOL!
I used to go to huge raves, spiritual movement, bass rush, glow, emerald forrest,I was one of the old breakers,
I can still start a break circle
this is the real, been to dark jungle parties, early 90s,all red lasers n lights,n pig heads,on stakes,
Bring that beat back!
Time machine not included? Trying to pick up pirates on a sat/Sunday. Tape recorder on pause for that tune you caught a smidge of last weekend. Golden era for me. Thanks for the memories fella :)
I remember back in Denver circa 1994 at Ralph's skate shop on Colfax Ave. when I met RAW and saw how he would make his mixes. Incredible!! He had samples laid out across an old EMU sampler and would put together by playing different keys, a whole mixed tape and it would sound just like a table mix (those too were epic; small Denver house parties) EPIC!!
10 months ago i commented on this. love coming back to see how much this has grown. as always i love it
Can't believe the d/load link still works! Thanks a lot!!!
Amazing, like a red wine.
17.18 one of the finest darkside choons.....everyone in the place cut out and lit up in a sea of strobe induced raving madness........darkside at its finest.
Ah, brings back memories!!
epic upload ...... these tunes sure bring back some memorys!!!
Wow I feel like I have just landed in the heaven part of youtube, even the comments are refreshing here.
Thank you very much, that's a great compliment and i'm glad that people can see more value in older music than most of the new crap these days... thanks again dude.
InternalMind The emotion ... This is why i love DnB . Im 15 and im starting off producing music such as hardtek ,spytrance and dnb/jungle .I'm absoluteley sick of the shit people in my school listen too even a lot of the underground fans i know have started listening to generic boring music . Because of this i make it my aim to bring oldschool of all sorts back but harder and stronger . Cant wait to tear up the raves once i leave home :D !
Oren French Gotta love the spytrance, I hear it's only played at exclusive secret volcano bases, the hardest parties to track down on the planet
Ed Reid Theres litterally psytrance parties just in front of my house like 15 times a year some of them have serious sound systems and smaller ones in the surrounding area . Suprisingly Ireland is actually quite good on the rave side of things compared to some places , its also a good habitat for the liberty cap mushroom one of the best drugs on the planet because its full of psilocibin and so easy to find . You only need like 70-80 in a tea for an lsd power trip , and it takes about 5 hours to find about 400-500 in the mountains . Even though im not Irish , ireland will always be part of me because of its psychedelic goodness . :D
Oren French Ireland... Good music... riiiight. Maybe if you are lost and you fall down a rabbit hole... which can always happen if you eat enough of those shrooms, which are now actually hard to get, not because they are in short supply, but the beloved Gardi are guarding where they come up, and in certain places are even trampling them, Something I have seen with my own eyes. So both your suggestion about Ireland, are false patriotic silly fluff. I do not mean to offend you, but Ireland is quite possibly one of the worst countries I have ever been in.....
Nice. very nice. I remember this time well, hardcore breakbeat turned into jungle. The birth of DNB was just around the corner. 20 years young and still going strong.
YES. Got that Moving Shadow!
Always good tunes. Nicely done.
Cheers guv
This is a pretty solid dark core jungle line up mix guy! Good taste! I see you got 41 clowns that thumbs downed.

Good! it's immortal, it never dies, but only shapeshifts into whatever form it wants and then comes back again :P

Glad to hear something like this! At nine years old now (no I'm not trolling) I've gotten in to different styles of music. I love the underground Drum'n'Bass so much! I wish I could give you some money for uploading something like this, seriously. Not too many people take their time and make such a classic, dark, and deep mix! Big ups mate! Here from Czechoslovakia.
