Great and passionate review! Me? I’m old. Many years ago, friends and I attended the auto shows. We scratched our heads and wondered who would pay that amount of money for a Toyota, Datsun or Honda. You may know them now as Lexus, Infiniti and Acura. I’m in a Facebook group that lost their collective minds when the Stinger came out. “Who the heck does Kia think they are!!” All Kia and Hyundai are doing are what companies did before them. And they are doing a great job of it. And a brief warning. I’ve got the 2019 2.0 Premium. On her first road trip, I swung out to pass a few cars in front of me so I wouldn’t get blocked in by cars coming up from behind. I look down and I see 3 figures on the speedometer and it’s climbing. I wasn’t flooring it or driving aggressively. She was just showing me what she could do. These cars are sneaky and I swear I heard it laugh at me! I can’t even imagine what the GT is like. Enjoy yours!! It’s beautiful.
Used to own a 19 GT RWD trim and that start and stop button is LEGIT THE MOST ANNOYING feature of this car... wish Kia would have gotten rid of it or once you turn it off, it's off permanently until you turn it back on. Super annoying that once you start your car once again that it comes back on.. anyways, first world problem lol. Hope you're still enjoying your Stinger man! Great review!
I have a 2021 GT1 as well. I bought it certified pre owned but it came with a race chip GT black. Kia said they missed it somehow, lol. I had them remove it, since I have a warranty and the car is fast enough, stock. There's no where i need to be, 1 second faster, lol. Too many pot holes out here to drive fast anyway. I had a 2018 BMW 440i x drive before this and honestly, all I miss is the BMW badge. At the end of the day, I don't want to "engage with the road". I want to drive effortlessly and comfortably, which this car is better at imho. More room inside, with more personal storage space and less expensive to insure and repair as well.
brake wise, it is brake pad deposits if you sit and hold the brake after braking a lot if they get hot.. the pads are soft for the US for low dust and noise but also just doesn't hold up to heat. They will resurface the rotors if it happens but you can either go aftermarket or get euro spec pads. I have a 2020 GT Indigo edition and have not had any brake shake yet and am at 13k miles on stock pads. if you start to get shake, you can do the bedding in procedure and do some hard braking from 70- slow speeds a few times aggressively but make sure you drive and don't sit on the brakes until they cool down. That should "melt" the deposits and distribute them evenly over the rotor to remove the shake.. This isn't a kia specific issue.. have had the same deposit issue multiple times on our 2 e39 bmw's.
@@vipeboy2003 I sold BMWs and I do think the Stinger is a superior car. I love the indigo SE. I want the wheels on it. Congrats on the car! We’ve got 900 miles on ours and it doesn’t have the brake issue yet thankfully.
