I wish I could take my 1980 HJ45 there! I have an oil leak in the engine (I think its the oil pan) a coolant leak, and I need to relocate the insane, no access oil filter! Regardless, very relaxing watching this. That mechanic, and Paul Marsh, make getting news about needed repairs seem like good news.
Good point. But nothing to discuss. They often get water inside them rust and stop working. Both of these appeared as if they had never been used and we just cleaned them up a bit and put them back.
Even if it was a bit warn and the gearbox to get rebuilt , gee get another 500k out of it again is great goes to show with regular oil changes and not flogging it the real landcuisers are tuff and value for money probably why they hold their value the looked after ones 😊
Never guess. Always use what the manufacturer suggests. And do not deviate, because even the components in oils can affect the case hardening of the gears.
Looks like that sometimes. Well, they would hardly have increased it, would they? And we have Toyota service records all the way to 400K. So we recon its correct.
love theses vids would a poorly balanced rear prop shaft cause the rear pinon seal to keep leaking had mine done a couple times and seems to start leaking again soon after

Some are advising to replace 75W-90 diff oil to 75W-140, when diff start to get worn or when tuff use, what you think?!😶

It has black paint and no stone damage on anything, what is th secret ?
Truth is, we were quite puzzled by some of the components. The wear patterns didn't make sense at times.
I'm guessing the only thing that has been changed on this Troopy is te speedo and it hasn't done anywhere near 500,000km!!

It's sad that Toyota never got rid of the collapsible spacer it's such a bad design causing so many failures in these diffs.
