I watch all your videos. I love and appreciate the art of shoe shine and you’re absolutely great at it and you explain things clearly. Enjoy and keep up the awesome content.
Absolutely beautiful. Just so you know, I bought my first 2 pair of Oxfords today. Made sure to shine them while watching your new shoe video. They look nice. Just gotta find some wax and I'll be set. Thanks for the help and keep up the videos, love watching them.
What blows me away is despite your prodigious skill and attention for and to detail you don't have the subscribers that your talent deserves.... Your videos are so informative and helpful with even the most basic but necessary shoes techniques. My grandfather taught me years ago that a man's pride was in the shine of his shoes. He was a legend to me with his skills at mirror shining but I can say without a doubt that your skills eclipse his by a considerable margin (I'm being really kind to him here). Mr. Sotto.... Thank you. Thanks for undertaking the responsibility to remind us of the need for basic grooming and how this can restore character. Wishing you every success brother.... From Pinetown, South Africa
Boots came out great!! This reminds me of cleaning off my boots after a branding out on the ranch Nebraska... except it wasn't mud i was scrubbing off 🤠👢😷
You are the Bruce Lee of shoe restoration! You made it a shame for me to look down at my feet. Just started ordering products to up my foot game. Thanks. 👍

Those are some beautiful boots they came out fantastic!!!! I am definitely envious of your collection and hope to get myself a quality pair of dress shoes and boots in the future
After just brushing the mud off, they still look better polished than most people's shoes. Drink the Saphir lol. I tell you something, I smell my well used polishing cloth and the scent of all the Saphir creams and waxes, is amazing. I would wear that scent as a cologne.
Saddle soap is designed to remove horse grease from saddles (and other leather equipment that touches the horse such as harnesses or bridles). It’s really good at taking all sorts of nasty stuff off leather. We always cleaned our horse tack with it and then treated the leather with a good dose of Ko-cha-line to keep it nice and soft and flexible.
I'm a new sub that is really enjoying your content. I've been a devoted leather...caregiver? For years. But watching your work has given me a lot of info to take what I've done to the next level. This video was especially interesting because a couple years ago, I picked up a nice pair of military boots at a Goodwill $2 store. Just for background, if an item lands there, it's gone from start to finish at all area Goodwill stores (we don't have "The Bins" in my area), so it arrives at this store, for $2. And those boots were covered in mud, which helped to explain why I was looking them over for $2. What I saw were really nice, probably worn once boots then donated literally after that wearing. I took them home and took them straight to a sink. A good wash later (being careful to not soak the inside any more than necessary), and then a good conditioning, I sold them on ebay to a lady for her son for Christmas: for $79 plus full shipping. I recently intentionally picked up a pair of Ariats that look like yours did right after you removed the large clumps of dirt. I can't wait to get at 'em. Why is mail so slow?? 🙂
Dug my Army boots out the other day. Even though I rarely need them any more being retired for a decade now, about once a year I still ensure there still serviceable. My jump boots are 30 years old.
Hussard stain remover is great. I use it at work to strip after using Reno Mat. I suggest to people who haven't used it to wear gloves as it will dry and burn your skin.
Hi Preston I noticed while watching your video that the tongue of your right boot was leaning towards the side. I was wondering if you ever found a way of dealing with this. Personally I just received my first pair of leather boots and I’m having this problem where whenever I’m wearing it the tongue always slides to the right and although it’s not the worst thing in the world it is a bit annoying. Thanks, Keep up with the great videos
yep it is annoying..l got a pair of handmade Mephistos $350 and one of the tongues slides over as l wear them .l also have a pair of red wings that do the same . l cant figure out how to correct this.
Preston, when I clean off dirty, muddy shoes I successfully use a plastic bristled brush with a handle and it is able to get between the leather and the sole to make quick work to remove dirt and mud.
For four months our boots were like this every evening after coming off our obstacle course. One wee fireplace surrounded with 15 pairs of boots each evening, the overalls and all the webbing, belts, straps and pouches, all had to be washed, Blancoed and brasses polished for inspection in the morning. By Jebus can I polish a shoe, Iron a pair of overalls so they have creases you could shave with.
ApolloMoonLandings no problem, they seem to have great leather to choose from and different styles. Customer service seems good. I just bought my first shoes with their buy 3 pay 2 program, so hoping they fit as no returns 😅
Hi, I have only just today discovered your channel and I'm amazed at the content and knowledge that you have!
