I grew up in Houston and and Royal Coins has been around for decades. I recognized their storefront immediately even though I live in another state now and have not been in their shop in a very, very long time. It was a blast from my numismatic past.
Really good points made here about continuing the relationship and making purchases even if that means breaking even or only making a few bucks. What’s important is to stay active with them and play the long game so when the better opportunities arise they want to call you first. You guys have done that with me which I appreciate and is why I often call you guys first
I always learn from you buying from dealer to dealer behind the scenes whereas most don’t know how that works. It also shows the current state of the market. What you look for when buying also. I appreciate coin dealers because they/ you shop for us collectors and cherry pick nice coins. Thank you for what you do. 😊
Another great behind-the-scenes video! Some collectors do not realize how tight the margins are on coins. It sounds like the market for common Morgans is soft at the moment. Beautiful Walkers. Great information. Thanks!
your first half was spot on regarding the common Morgan dates and your pricing was beyond fair market value. I enjoyed how you gave your subscribers a positive perspective view of how dealers interact with each other. I like that coin shop you were at because it reminds me of my favorite one just to sit down at the counter and old looking. I've watched other coin videos and I just happen to come across yours which I like very much. I have not had the chance to look at your coin website but I will.
I've become very interested in coins lately. I keep getting stuck on something, from the perspective of a coin business. I ask this as a small business owner. Our entire business is built around margins. Why tie up so much money in a coin for razor thin margins? A 6 month CD will pay more in some of these instances. Seems like a lot of work and money invested for a $10 profit.
New Subscriber and liked the video. 👍 If you guys ever travel to North Carolina make sure to stop in and check out the shop, always buying - always selling. Thanks for the video guys! Life is good.....God Bless
These buying/ negotiating coins deals videos are great. lol at the Royal Coins comment of " Half my Closet was taken away once already"😂. One thing you haven't disclosed, how much do you charge for your services/ opinion on a batch of coins as in this video analysing the sheet of liberty walking halves? $$..
So random question. By the way love the channel and I’m new to collecting. I’m a business owner and time is money. Based on what your buying them for, and the amount of money you will make after selling them, is it worth your time to spend that much time, gas, listing ect for such a low amount of coins? I understand the build the relationship as stated, but it seems like many purchases are always around a few thousand for smaller dealers each time. Once again appreciate the video and education.
Usually would only pay up to 80% of bid. I made an exception if I were buying a coin for a good customer. If I paid bid to sell it at bid or ask was ok as having a good steady customer is very important.
Question I have been meaning to ask. You are the only coin dealer I have seen that does not take at least a 10x look at coins. I know PCGS and NGC are best but the last survey I saw showed 83 and 85 accuracy. That's only a B in college. I use an 18 or 20 myself as I have seen spots on new pandas that could not be seen with a 10. I know anal but never surprised.
Driving around with a broken windshield is not only dangerous but in some states is illegal and a vehicle condition violation. A windshield imploding at 65 mph can slash and cut you instantly.
No Fred. Worked as paramedic some years ago. Seen some some pretty bad windshield accidents in my time that were caused by people driving around with seriously cracked windshields. Ritalin might help you though.@fredpitterpatter6882
I’ve never heard of a windshield blowing out while driving and hurting someone because of a crack. It’s not even that bad just one big crack going across. In Alaska that window would grade a solid ms62-63 #Ritalin
You are correct sir, especially in an accident. The windshield helps transfer the impact. Not to mention once air bags deploy if the crack has ruined the integrity of the glass even more dangerous for the driver and passenger.
Ahhhh never never blow on a coin. You should not even be speaking over a coin. If you fell you need to get dust offa coin COMPRESSED AIR. The moistness of your breath can show up later as a lovely spot. Also surprised no latex or cotton gloves.
Just an FYI, whenever you send coins to PCGS/NGC, etc, they don’t use gloves when handling your coins. Why you may ask? Wearing gloves, especially cotton, do not provide you with full grip and can easily slip out of your fingers which could result in damage to the coin.
You guys are great and fair in what you pay for the coins you guys buy! I have two sets of Indian head pennies, one complete and one missing 4 coins. Would you guys be interested in buying them?

As a small business owner, I was thinking the same thing.
It's definately a way to turn a hobby into a business to fund the hobby if that makes sense.
thanks

Very educational video
Love Royal coins

Need a new windshield lol 😂
I sent a question to you from your store site about the holder on one of your offerings and still no response, what gives?
Great video !
About how many coins per month do you sell?
Love the videos BBBRRRROOOOO 🤘🏻💪🏻
Have you set up in Shreveport this Friday and Saturday?
fast flippers are the best.
Don’t you worry about the music in the background and getting copyright infringement and having your video taken down?
How are your eBay fees only 9%? I thought standard was now 13.2%
You get an eBay store and your fees drop down. It’s worth the fee if you sell enough.
You are so strong to be able to work while unbelievably annoying music is blasting in the coin shop...
Why won’t the dealer sell those Morgan’s at bid to the public? It’s not worth it to you but if they’re willing to sell to you at bid why not me?
That background music might cause you some issues with YT

@@evans_coins I don't wear cotton either, I use nitrile myself. I always have pad just in case because everyone drops one sooner or later:)
Your profit margins are too razor thin .
