However, Frisk only wanted to kill Betty and no one else, so that would ultimately be a pretty low LV, as they have the capacity to kill but it's limited to a single person, he wouldn't be willing to kill just anyone. for humans magic is tied to their "soul trait," the strength of said magic depends on how strong your "trait" is. eg. there's 2 ppl with yellow souls (justice) and they fight the person with a stronger sense of justice will almost always win. also defining your trait is probably really ez especially for a kid cuz it's easier to define your trait at earlier age, so whilst it's probably really ez to define your trait the real challenge is visualizing the trait into magic which probably a lot of humans dont know how to do cuz they aren't trained or were never taught as kids especially in the evolution of technology and peace. TL:DR: while humans (with soul traits) still have magic overtime with less need for it only a select few actually train in utilizing it

I believe the magic tech is a relatively new invention, a characyer thay is introduced in a letter episode is credited with creating a bunch of magic tech that allows humans to better harness their magic in certain ways. Only a human witha green soul can make healing magic but any human can use a machine to heal someone with their magic. Also, Asgore is a boss monster. Boss monsters dont age unless they have a child who is the same age as them, meaning hence why hes so old. Same for Toriel, although idk why Gaster is also so old, maybe skeletons naturally don't age
I don’t think magic tech is that new, I think it’s just that magic is less known about when the barrier was still up, just that monsters helped out a little, cuz even in flashbacks or prequel you can clearly see humans with magic and knowing magic, an example about the magic tech though, is back in Rave’s flash back with his older brother the perseverance soul guy, they clearly seem to have some magic tech or other things in other times.

Something I haven’t seen mentioned is that when you commented on frisk’s movement after he became lv19, that was most likely intentional. In the genocide run, frisk is described as ‘shambling around’ and is more than once mistaken for a monster. It’s heavily implied during genocide that with each lv, frisk becomes less and less human in their movement and reactions as they become desensitized to everything around them.

As the child ages, the soul power from the parents flows into the child, causing them to age. It’s more complicated than that, but I don’t remember the exact explanation from the game. This goes a bit into prequel territory, but basically in the region that Season 2 takes place specifically in magic was banned for a number of reasons (mostly because it was a major trading area due to being in the center of the other districts). Humans in the other districts are allowed to practice magic as normal hence why we see humans with magic in the HSO (and we’re going to see a lot more in the prequels if you decide to watch those). The policy lasted until the monsters got released, mostly because if I had to guess a sudden rise in people unlocking their unused magic (again, due to the district policy) and had to change it to adapt to the change, hence why a magical school was also set in place as well.

Also if you look close enough the moment before Frisk changes their LV, you can see their soul about them and how a little black liquid drops from it which implies that Frisk hates Bete Noir so much at that point where they generate a small amount of hatred by themselves which acts as an enhancer in this case.

Sans' soul in Glitchtale after being brought back was also black, and yet, still, monsters don't have soul traits. This proves what I said about HATE being able to overtake you. HATE can invert your soul with help of the soul inversion spell used by Agate by the way, who used it to get the FEAR trait. It's basically letting HATE into your soul, letting it corrupt it and ultimately invert it. The substance itself could also take on a physical form after Bête Noire's death, with all the inverted soul trait abilities of the ones it had previously corrupted. HATE ultimately just waits to corrupt a new person, to get a new host should the first one die. Also, in Glitchtale season 1, a glitch caused Chara to be revived and gave him HATE due to all the pain and suffering Frisk had inflicted. This is how HATE was born in Glitchtale at first, and we all know Chara has DT as his soul trait, meaning HATE could only take over him, not be his actual soul trait.

Glitchtale shows exactly that as well, and if they think that Frisk gets overtaken by Chara in this episode (ep4, s2), they'd be very wrong. Frisk just glitches their stats back from the last genocide route to be LV 19. I could list a thousand facts why LV 19 Frisk is not Chara, but I'm sure you know the rest as well

for humans magic is tied to their "soul trait," the strength of said magic depends on how strong your "trait" is. eg. there's 2 ppl with yellow souls (justice) and they fight the person with a stronger sense of justice will almost always win. also defining your trait is probably really ez especially for a kid cuz it's easier to define your trait at earlier age, so whilst it's probably really ez to define your trait the real challenge is visualizing the trait into magic which probably a lot of humans dont know how to do cuz they aren't trained or were never taught as kids especially in the evolution of technology and peace.
TL:DR: while humans (with soul traits) still have magic overtime with less need for it only a select few actually train in utilizing it

I believe the magic tech is a relatively new invention, a characyer thay is introduced in a letter episode is credited with creating a bunch of magic tech that allows humans to better harness their magic in certain ways. Only a human witha green soul can make healing magic but any human can use a machine to heal someone with their magic. Also, Asgore is a boss monster. Boss monsters dont age unless they have a child who is the same age as them, meaning hence why hes so old. Same for Toriel, although idk why Gaster is also so old, maybe skeletons naturally don't age

I don’t think magic tech is that new, I think it’s just that magic is less known about when the barrier was still up, just that monsters helped out a little, cuz even in flashbacks or prequel you can clearly see humans with magic and knowing magic, an example about the magic tech though, is back in Rave’s flash back with his older brother the perseverance soul guy, they clearly seem to have some magic tech or other things in other times.

PS, this applies after they reach adulthood, so Asriel ages normally while he's still a kid.
Fun fact. Monsters don't age. Not how humans do. When they have children, those children grow and the parents start to age, but if they have no children... *Or if the children died* they will stop aging. That's why Toriel and Asgore are so very old, but still look like 30-40ish adults, because Asriel died while in his early teens (at most).

Something I haven’t seen mentioned is that when you commented on frisk’s movement after he became lv19, that was most likely intentional. In the genocide run, frisk is described as ‘shambling around’ and is more than once mistaken for a monster. It’s heavily implied during genocide that with each lv, frisk becomes less and less human in their movement and reactions as they become desensitized to everything around them.

This goes a bit into prequel territory, but basically in the region that Season 2 takes place specifically in magic was banned for a number of reasons (mostly because it was a major trading area due to being in the center of the other districts). Humans in the other districts are allowed to practice magic as normal hence why we see humans with magic in the HSO (and we’re going to see a lot more in the prequels if you decide to watch those).
The policy lasted until the monsters got released, mostly because if I had to guess a sudden rise in people unlocking their unused magic (again, due to the district policy) and had to change it to adapt to the change, hence why a magical school was also set in place as well.

Frisk actually glitched their LV to the state of the previous genocide timeline where it was 19. This is why they talk about consequences before they do it, as this obviously isn't safe. Also if you look close enough the moment before Frisk changes their LV, you can see their soul about them and how a little black liquid drops from it which implies that Frisk hates Bete Noir so much at that point where they generate a small amount of hatred by themselves which acts as an enhancer in this case.

Time for a lesson for you, HATE is not a soul trait. It's more of a liquid, a substance, used to either enhance your abilities and give you a power-boosr, or to invert your soul. HATE itself is not a soul trait. The only reason why souls can be black is because HATE can take over you and your soul.

Sans' soul in Glitchtale after being brought back was also black, and yet, still, monsters don't have soul traits. This proves what I said about HATE being able to overtake you.
HATE can invert your soul with help of the soul inversion spell used by Agate by the way, who used it to get the FEAR trait. It's basically letting HATE into your soul, letting it corrupt it and ultimately invert it.
The substance itself could also take on a physical form after Bête Noire's death, with all the inverted soul trait abilities of the ones it had previously corrupted.
HATE ultimately just waits to corrupt a new person, to get a new host should the first one die. Also, in Glitchtale season 1, a glitch caused Chara to be revived and gave him HATE due to all the pain and suffering Frisk had inflicted. This is how HATE was born in Glitchtale at first, and we all know Chara has DT as his soul trait, meaning HATE could only take over him, not be his actual soul trait.

@@Drin792 Completely untrue. We, as the Player, in Undertale play Frisk. Chara gets awakened in the Genocide route where we kill everybody, but Frisk and Chara are still two different entities. Glitchtale shows exactly that as well, and if they think that Frisk gets overtaken by Chara in this episode (ep4, s2), they'd be very wrong. Frisk just glitches their stats back from the last genocide route to be LV 19.
I could list a thousand facts why LV 19 Frisk is not Chara, but I'm sure you know the rest as well
