Abandoned Victorian pumping station such a beautiful place in Eastbourne East Sussex

- Pumping water had started here in 1883, an inauguration attended by the future King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. However, in the autumn of 1895, complaints were received that the towns water tasted brackish and this site was abandoned in favour of Wells to the west of the town. Coal was brought in by rail to run the engines although there are no trace of the sidings left.
Over the years the buildings have been a council yard and then leased out to small businesses.
The whole site is now abandoned and awaiting redevelopment.

I've been alot recently. A lady in the building infront filmed me and my group, pissed me off loads. the gATES OPEN SOMETIMES THO.

@@bloodylittlehooligan me and my group got in the gates and the fence but the actual building was shuttered and we didnt have a crowbar on hand to get in
@@freaky1382 yeah dude i see where youre coming from, around the corner tho theres two houses, a nuserey and a BTECH building. We could meet sometime.
@@bloodylittlehooligan i never knew about a nursery and houses, but i tried getting in the BT building and found the only way in was the fences on the main road which i didnt feel confident scaling lol
