Good one. However, I suggest that the next time you play flutes side by side, it will be better to play the same song on every instrument, that way how the same thing sounds on a cheap instrument, compared to an expensive instrument, will be more evident. 🙏

Nice explanation Yogeshwar. I'm a guitarist for about 23 years.. and I also insist that your skill and practice makes most of the impact in what you are playing. The same logic goes for a cheap vs expensive guitar. A cheap guitar played with good skill and technique can blow away a guitar that may cost 10 times more.

By the way, not many people may know that the first piece you played is the title music of the serial - 'Malgudi Days' - based on R.K. Narayan's book of short stories. People who would have seen Malgudi Days in the 80's era will surely relate with me :)

The problem is that the very first one is end-blown, making the sound inherently different to the middle and high end flutes, which are all side-blown like traditional bansuris. There's a noticeable difference between the resonance of all four, I'll say that much.

Both of them are important the quality as well as practice . It depends on the stage you are in ,if you are a professional player and playing in orchestra or something and you are using a 25 rupees flute then obviously it is going to be a problem and the sound stage will not be good. But at first when you are learning you don't have to buy one lakh rupees flute.
Actually the scale of Punam flute is different. You need some days to match with the scale.

malgudi days, was the best, to me, cuz i love that music, so yeah, all other were just some normal and wasnt that surpricing for me, and this is why Musics are oftenly referred as emotions!

if you can afford you should buy a flute in the range of 600-800 medium size.
taking training from a guru and having knowledge of rage will be great but for Bollywood songs or for entertainment according to me, it's not mandatory.

Mujhy to 500 aur 2800 wali ky hi surr exact aur clear lagay hein. Sasti wali flutes ky ek to surr exact nhi hein, thoray ooper ya neechy hein doosry tone mein hiss ziada hae jis sy tone mein depth utni nhi hae.

i think Natural scale is sweet and lovely than sharp scales. i have c sharp flute , it sounds harsh to listen. i think beginner should start with "C Natural" Flute , it calms your mind and sounds peaceful. I've done mistake by choosing c sharp.

Your blowing technique needs lots of improvement! Honestly I’ll tell something! You’ll appreciate the difference between cheap and expensive is when you get the proper technique of blowing, meend , gamak, strokes!
Kudos to you ! You’ve gone quite the road! I was in the same place once! But I can suggest you find a guru ! Cause it really is a different addiction when you get the proper techniques of holding the flute and blowing! And please do not use the cheap ones, the tunings sound improper to me! Once you’re trapped in wrong tuning , it’s very hard to get out! If you want good tuned flute you can contact Deepak soni ji, shri Charles, sarfuddin, punam flutes! These are some trusted ones!
