Pretty sure I got one of these not long ago. Here's how it went: Scammer: "Hey - come over for dinner tonight, I'll make seafood!" Me: (not recognizing the number) "Who is this?" Scammer: "Isn't this Amy?" Me: "No." Scammer: "Oh gosh, I'm sorry! I must have the wrong number! Would YOU like to come over for dinner?" Me: (instantly suspicious but wondering where this is going) "No, but thank you." Scammer: "Do you live nearby? I'm in New York." Me: (checking their area code - says it's from California - pretty sure this is a scam now) "I'm not near you." Scammer: "Well, where do you live? Maybe we can get together for lunch sometime!" Me: (tired of the game now) BLOCKED & REPORTED. This is how they get you - they try to warm you up by acting innocent and friendly, hoping you won't realize how much info you're giving them if they engage you in conversation.
Oh, that's a Pig Butchering come-on for sure!! I received one asking it I wanted to go shopping and kept the conversation going for DAYS. They're tenacious!
I actually get these types of messages almost weekly. One wanted to know if they could book an appointment with me calling me doctor. LOL!! I always block and delete, thank you for telling people about this.
Thank you for the great information! Yea, I also got a text last week asking me if I was a certain person.......I immediately deleted and blocked that person!!
Just got a text about an hour ago from an unknown number. It asked me "are you OK". Deleted, blocked and reported. These mofos should get off their lazy, scheming azzes and get a legitimate jobs instead of ripping off those of us that work hard for our money.
I keep getting text like this. With all these data hacks, its been nonstop. I also get the scam recruiter text. Scam calls. I don't even answer my phone anymore. I also keep getting emails my info is on the dark web. I'm sure it is. But I'm not about to click on any links. I love the reverse response 😂 I have also hard of kidnapping text. Saying they will harm a loved one if they dont send money.
It's a crazy world right now for sure! I figure the best we can do is stay informed and inform others -- especially our older relatives and friends who grew up in a time when things like this just didn't happen.
I received 3 of these texts. First one she claimed to be waiting for her friend to pick her up from the airport. 2nd time, was talking about a purse and sent her Pic. 3rd time, asking if they had the correct number for so and so.
It’s really sad but we have to be so wary of ANYONE we don’t know or don’t know very very well asking for money, and even if you think it’s someone you know well if they didn’t ask in person you still have to be so so careful. My grandparents almost lost thousands of dollars because they got tricked into thinking my cousin was in a car accident from a phone call
I'm so sorry your grandparents were caught up in that kind of scam. My mother received a call about my nephew (her grandson) from a scammer pretending to be him and claiming to be in jail. These scammers are just awful. :-(
The benefit of being an introvert. You delete texts from people you don't know...sometimes from people that you do. lol
LOL! Excellent point! :-)

I got a scam like this before i just block and delete them. Thank you for spreading awareness!!!
You're so welcome -- glad you're blocking these awful people!!
Wow I just got a text like this last week I blocked out the number
They're hitting everyone right now! You handled it perfectly!!

Perfect! That's the best way to deal with these scammers!
I have told my elderly parents about this, please educate others on your life about these incredibly sneaky scams
Wonderful! They're so lucky to have you watching out for them!
Its always best to not respond at all. As soon as I get them, I block them.
Exactly!! You're smart, @shecra360!

Some idiot tried again last week. I block them.
Perfect word for them! Blocking is the best route -- glad you took it!
Was recently a victim of this. This video explains the scam very well - thank you!
Sorry to hear that, darn it. Thank you for your kind feedback, Judy!
This is one I didn't know about. Thank You
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching. :-)

Yesssss! They try so many approaches to make the contact look like an innocent accident. Crafty devils!
Just got one of these the other day before I saw this. It was just "Hi" but I blocked and reported.
That's the way to handle them! They're everywhere -- I'd be amazing if I wasn't busy being disgusted!
I have gotten these. I ignore them but one time they were persistent so I sent the FBI webpage. Never heard from them again.
Perfect!!
Thank you
I have seen all 3 versions. If I have time, I will definitely play along. I may be from Mars or Saturn. I may be a well renowned modeling clay chef.
Hysterical! Love it!
Lol. I like your style...toying with them. 😂😂😂
😁 I try!
Never heard of this. It a funny name too!

I actually ASK THEM FOR MONEY
Yes!!
And she was Asian she sent her picture as well
Not surprised -- that seems to be their standard operating practice!
@@ratracerebellionworkfromhome I'm glad that I blocked her
