Got the green on rubber for only £365, I love it, right now it's being customised to a no date, im super excited. Don't bother with the extra hundred buck bracelet, go green
I still own my 61-5-8009 that I bought at the Base Exchange in 1976. I wore it every day for 15 years before I put it up for a new Seiko watch. I had it serviced for the first time last year. It ran good even after having been in the jewelry case for so long.
I've had my king turtle for 3 years now,it was running about 12 seconds slow initially over 24 hours.i regulated it myself watching a few UA-cam vids about 2 years ago.so I set it yesterday to the second with my phone and 24 hours later it's still accurate to the second.great watch.i took off the bracelet as it took away the look of the cusion case and replaced it with a rubber strap.great watch to own.regards from England.
I really like the candy bar cyclops! I only have it on my 4th gen Monster, but it looks cool and adds charm. I think the people who heat it up and remove it are insane. And who cares if it's not perfectly aligned? It's a Seiko, for the love of God! Half a click off for life, Bruce, half a click off for life...
I agree with you. I stated it’s one thing if he didn’t like the candy bar or cyclops, but to state everyone hates it is completely untrue. Like your love it on my “save the ocean” monster and green Alpinist.
I bought a Seiko king turtle from Amazon with sapphire glass and ceramic bezel I had to break it in for a couple of months and wear it because it kept running out on me when I was slapped that means it wasn’t winding and then it just finally kicked in one day awesome watch thank you for your video
I love my Save the Ocean turtle "Great White". Beautiful dial, keeps great time and very comfortable. I even like the cyclops, I think it adds a point of interest to the watch. There's not a better £500 diver on the market
I own the anthracite turtle, the gilt 775 and the original PADI like you used to own. I can't sell them. Now I'm looing at the grenade king turtle. That'll be 4 turtles. Not to mention my SKX009 and Marinemaster SBDX017. All great watches and I blame your videos for my addiction. Take care, Bruce.
I think the Seiko Turtle is one of the greatest diver's watch designs ever. Here's an idea Seiko, why don't you start chronometer rating you watches? I for one would certainly go for them.
for a tool/ diver beater watch I always gotta go with a quarts or solar option. the accuracy advantage and the overal durability is a huge advantage. if you want a mechanical watch, just get somthing actually nice that is worth the money.
I can't stand Seiko QC, so I bought the Tudor P01 prototype because I love the shape and the 4oclock crown on the turtle. Sucks that seiko went downhill so far, so fast in quality.
Love my SRPE 05 King Turtle! I am going to prove you wrong when you say no one likes the elongated cyclops. I do, and mine is aligned perfectly, it helps these old eyes to read the day and date.
Great video and content. Have you ever tried the turtle taiwan special edition, taroko edit. Phenomenal. More refined, looks better finished and presented. I traveled there last summer and I fell in love..and I am a guy that dress generally small size. An absolute try to see. Only lack is a limited edition, and I think it shouldn't. Take care
Yup! My Pepsi PADI is getting alot of wrist time alongside my Omega Speedmaster and my Oris diver65 numeral. On the UncleSeiko Z199 strap, the Turtle is very impressive!
Hello Bruce, I bought the “Dark Knight” Turtle SRPC23 based on your video and videos alone, I then collected the SRP777j and SRP775J, now I only have the 777j in my collection and flipped the other 2 actually for a little bit of profit and reinvested into Sbbn043, all watches you have reviewed and had influence on. Thank you Sir and you are blessed! ❤
Hey Bruce, I bought the King Turtle because of your video comparing the Turtle and the Sumo, and it’s the watch that have the more wrist time of all, it’s not perfect but it’s a great and iconic watch.
@brucewilliams I completely disagree with you that everyone hates the candy bar and/or the cyclops viewing date. It’s one thing to say you personally don’t like it, but to include everyone in that statement is just incorrect and unfair? I personally love the candy bar and cyclops, and so do a lot of other people, or people wouldn’t buy them? Rolex does it with it’s a submariner, and that’s ok, but Seiko doing it isn’t? I have trouble seeing without reading glasses, and it makes it easier to read. I’m sure there are plenty of others that have a stigmatism that enjoy this. I wish more watches did this. My other watches I can’t see the date, so I use my phone to know the date. Frankly I think it makes it look classy, and more expensive. Yes Seiko does have QC issues that need to be addressed, but I love my “Save the ocean” Monster and my green Alpinist. I would love a “Save the ocean” king turtle.
The amount of times I've heard watch fans complain versus how many love it is crazy. The vast majority of watch fans don't like it. More power to you that you do 👊
Cool watch.......I don't know why, but I don't like day date windows. I think it takes up too much space on the dial and is distracting. Just a date function would be preferable for me. But I understand this is just my personal taste. Many disagree with me, and this is otherwise a great watch for the money. Great review......thanks Bruce
Love the design of this watch but at this price you can get much better quality drop microbrands. When I buy this I’ll go for the 400$ srpe05. I don’t see why they’ve increased 200$ for essentially the same specs
I rebought the big Turtle one time and then pretty quickly sold it. Convinced me of what I don't like about the watch. Its too big and bulky. Willard and new slim Turtle are a better choice IMHO. A better icon? The Seiko Tuna 300m. In spite of having a large watch head, the Quartz movement reduces its mass slightly and I prefer the aesthetic of the Tuna. I don't see myself ever selling my sbbn033. In the Turtle vane, I prefer the SKX007 although the movement in the Turtle is better of course. No more Turtles for me. The new slim Turtle is pretty compelling because it is smaller, lower mass and sits closer to the wrist. PS. I wish Seiko would reissue the SKX007 in Titanium with high end movement and sapphire. I could make one but haven't. I would buy an upgraded SKX with screwdown crown.
Sir it's a great video, can u please compare the king turtle along with any of the reinterpretation models of 62 mas wit 6R caliber...can the 62 mas with 6r caliber could be as robust and could it be called a tool diver? especially keeping in mind the king turtles iso certifideness ? Thank you.
Bruce, I think I prefer the Slim Turtle design. However, the King Turtle is probably the best value Seiko now. Not sure I can justify the current price of the Seiko Slim Turtle. Rdunae make a great Slim Turtle homage on AliExpress for around AUD$250...
I tried one at an AD yesterday whilst wearing one of my turtles. It looks tiny compared to the 6309 classic case and almost tonneau shaped in comparison.
At the 6:13 mark, when you have 3 watches in your hand, the middle watch, is that the standard bracelet? If it's aftermarket, please tell me what it is. Thank you
Great video Bruce, I have a question for you: is it really true that the SRPE93 is .7mm bigger than the srp777? I can’t get this verified anywhere and the internet is all over the place on this. Some say no, some say yes.
@@BruceWilliams I would LOVE to see you review the SRPC23 gray dial! I recently picked up the SRPE93 and I’m shocked at how few reviews it has on UA-cam. It’s so unique despite the amazing heritage and as cool as the king is, it doesn’t have that classic polished bezel that shines so beautifully in the light.
A dive watch that’s misaligned back play on the bezel for a diver that’s dangerous the clasp ain’t up to snuff and it’s cost 600 you said I’m gonna guess it not sapphire ether go pay half the price with micro brands get better quality specs and quality control your paying extra for the name if you ask me that name ain’t worth double jus my 2 cents tho
Micro brands got zero value retention or brand cache. Lets face it no one pays full retail on these turtles. Last King turtle I purchased was half price retail. If an example comes up misaligned with back play in the bezel then return it, get one without problems. No one should accept faulty goods.
No Chance to the Save the Ocean White Shark. The better and nest looking Turtle. The Brezel at the white shark is way better than here. Its graved and not print like here.
Great piece, but man i dislike that prospex logo, infact the whole pretentious concept. Just Seiko will do pls. Im happy to pay for quality, but prospex and pressage are silly marketing stuff
So done with Seiko and their poor QC quality. Especially since they've admitted since they don't care about QC. Plenty of other watches out there where the companies care about their QC.
Seiko really fails in one aspect of design over and over. Fonts! They throw different fonts and sizes and colours and hope they stick. I have one PADI Seiko that has like 6 different fonts and sizes of text in two different colours on the dial. It's messy! Stop it Seiko!
The blue is so striking and gives it a pop of color.
I'd say the Seiko turtle is one of the greatest watches ever made.
So great I have 3 of them.😁
4 now 😂
Got the green on rubber for only £365, I love it, right now it's being customised to a no date, im super excited. Don't bother with the extra hundred buck bracelet, go green
I still like Cap Willard cause of its asymmetry and history.
agree, capt willard have unique design
Love the variations of the willard!
I have a bigger wrist and still prefer the willard
It’s better than the turtle in every way
I still own my 61-5-8009 that I bought at the Base Exchange in 1976. I wore it every day for 15 years before I put it up for a new Seiko watch. I had it serviced for the first time last year. It ran good even after having been in the jewelry case for so long.
@@ryanthomas9306it’s definitely better but wish the Willard had a ceramic bezel.
I recalibrated the timing. Now my King Turtle is as accurate as my Rolex Submariner Chronometer. Very happy with my Turtle
Did you do it yourself?
The old 777 suits me just fine thanks!
This is an amazing color combination!!!!!

It wouldn't keep me from buying one. I just prefer the look without it. Like the 6309!
I 100 percent disagree. This is one of the reasons I went willard
Single domed beveled edge bezel
Also the cyclops in my samurai is off
Yes i do agree that there’s something about the turtle that keeps one from coming back to it over & over again….
Still wear my STO from 2018. Everyone talks about the Willard and apocalypse now but hey this one was in the abyss.
Love my turtle collection very much.
Doggonit, Bruce! You’re gonna talk me into getting another Turtle!😳😮
I own 2 king turtles and love them.
This is a lot of bang for the buck!
I have one Turtle and it's the SRPC23, and it's for the same reason you said lol. Great watch and review.
Seiko is the best brand overall. Period!
Bruce your content and videos are exceptional, keep up the great work!!!!
I have the older model and It gives a lot of satisfaction. 🤗🤗🤗
Damn. I like everything about this video.
Wallet gets just a tad thinner every time I see a Bruce Williams video.
I do what I can haha
Yes I did it myself. Over 2 weeks I had to readjust 5 times to achieve the accuracy.
I have always had at least one Turtle in my collection. The reason why I keep coming back is the excellent fit, Bruce says… typical Seiko.
Great vid Bruce. I love my manta ray, and Williard SPB w/charcoal dial. Great watches.
Right on
I bought a Seiko king turtle from Amazon with sapphire glass and ceramic bezel I had to break it in for a couple of months and wear it because it kept running out on me when I was slapped that means it wasn’t winding and then it just finally kicked in one day awesome watch thank you for your video
The diver's extension gave me fits! Had to get rid of it and get aftermarket . They need to do better on that component.
Taking the cyclops off a Seiko is a must. I’ve done a few and what a difference. Great video.
I have the black faced black ceramic bezel King Turtle JDM on the bracelet. It's my go to everytime. A solid watch
I'm a turtle fan ,I bought a save the ocean blue to black dial on a strapcode jubilee year's ago and still wear it.
Can't say the wide screen cyclops really bothers me. Lovely Seiko at this price point
I love my Save the Ocean turtle "Great White". Beautiful dial, keeps great time and very comfortable. I even like the cyclops, I think it adds a point of interest to the watch. There's not a better £500 diver on the market

I have this in the solar version. Great colors.
Greed!! I sold mine, only b/c I preferred the color scheme of the SBDN069 version.
Macy's has a sale on Seiko's right now. $350-$450 USD for various turtles, samurais, and monsters, including the King Turtle.
I think the Seiko Turtle is one of the greatest diver's watch designs ever.
Here's an idea Seiko, why don't you start chronometer rating you watches? I for one would certainly go for them.

Wow, thank you Felix!
Thought they needed lume at 3 o'clock now for the 'divers' title.
Great video, thanks.
Any pillow shaped Seiko, turtle, sumo…without date….would be a winner…..in my opinion
I HATE the single keeper on the Seiko rubber straps. It has one job, to keep you strap - but it doesn’t do that
Cyclops lives matter!!!!
Awesome! I’ll watch now. Bruce, could you please do a review of the
Seiko SPB317? I can’t stop thinking about this Reference.
I removed the cyclops on mine. I didn’t like that it didn’t have the anti glare on it, which I found it made the date hard to read.
Love my golden turtle, one of my favourite seikos. Not a fan of any cyclops, especially a candy bar one.
Ninja turtle is the best turtle ever! :-( And i missed one
Hey Bruce, I bought the King Turtle because of your video comparing the Turtle and the Sumo, and it’s the watch that have the more wrist time of all, it’s not perfect but it’s a great and iconic watch.
Excellent!
Rubber straps is where it’s at for seiko.
Nice video Bruce. May I request some more Seiko diver videos? I love them.
I ordered the Heimdallr homage to see if i like the king format, we'll see.
Good video but what means fun with the watch ?

Thanks for all the great videos, Bruce!⌚️
Is srpgk01 and srpg19 is same watch please.Thank you.
Hehe fonts flipping made me think "What's a Bauce?" Ohhh...then the whole name slides in. :D Cool.
I have the same turtles. It doesn't bother you that low on the wrist?
Hey Bruce. Whats your experience with hardlex and would you go for king turtle just for the sapphire.
My King Turtle runs consistently - 4 or 5 seconds per day. Better than my Steinhart Ocean One 39 ceramic with Selita movement.
Any love for the mini turtle …?
I just want to let you know that I like cyclopes
At the 6:13 mark, when you have 3 watches in your hand, the middle watch, is that the standard bracelet? If it's aftermarket, please tell me what it is. Thank you
Gooooooooooooooooooooooo Look at my TURTLE MATILDA

Amazing watch, isn't it? Is the bracelet as bad as I remember?

I am a bracelet dog for life

Seiko Padi King turtle

This watch is made in Japan??????or made in china????
If they could just do a proper solid tapered bracelet I'd buy every release
Lol solid bracelet and seiko don't mix
196 g to heavy
Great piece, but man i dislike that prospex logo, infact the whole pretentious concept. Just Seiko will do pls. Im happy to pay for quality, but prospex and pressage are silly marketing stuff
