I enjoy Olaplex shampoo. I think that it's easy to use too much. Knowing that it is concentrated helps. I use a dime size on each section. I get tons of lather.
I agree....its my favorite shampoo. It's very concentrated, and a little goes a long way. I squeeze out a small amount, and it melts into the most amazing suds. It's so luxurious. 😂🥰
Oooh, please check out the Moknowshair line. Monica, the owner has done her research and studies the science of hair. Also interested Miche, tropical oasis gel! Great video! I plan to check out the deep conditioners and kaleidoscope products asap! And your curls were 🔥 in this video 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
A lot of the reformulations are happening because of new info on toxic ingredients and because of loss of access to ingredients from other countries. Politics can ruin a lot.
I always love hearing you and Kendra talk about products cause you guys always put me on to the good stuff lol i would love to see you all review Melanin Haircare!
100% agree with you on the hair products that did not work for you and they definitely didnt work for me either. You look super cute ...everything on point🔥🔥!
I always love when there is a favorites video from you! I trust your recommendations. Your makeup is also beautiful and I would love to see a tutorial of this makeup look! The lip shade makes your complexion glow!
Best of 2024 for me is the healthy hair studio protein defense. You add it to any mask and it makes it amazing. Im all about how soft and strong my hair feels after i rinse out a mask. This booster is a game changer. Second bond repair every shampoo at every step. I followed Abbey Young this year and basically tried her routine and its heavy on bond repair pretreatment, treatment and bond repair leave in every time you wash. I did this and now my 4b leave out on k tips looks super smooth with blow out only. I no longer need to flat iron my leave out. Im shocked at how much less frizzy my hair is now that i use so much bond repair in my routine and wash every 7-10 days.
How you feel about Cantu is how I'm feeling about The Doux. I've tried about four of their products and my curls said , sis this ain't it at ALLLLL 😂😂😂😂 It made me disappointed bc I love the 80s and 90s inspo behind The Doux's marketing.....but I think I'ma just steer clear of them for real I can't afford my hair to feel like straw Also I hate that so many companies been changing the formulas ----like who told you to do that ma'am 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@Spokentruths725 I actually haven't tried the gels at all. I have tried the Mousse def and I do enjoy that product. But the shampoo, the multipurpose co wash and the C.R.E.A.M.------ My hair flat out hated the first 2 and the last one , I got inconsistent results throughout my time using it and I just do not have the time for that
@jthomas0324 These same influences on social media are the reason many companies are changing formulas. When I write product reviews I always add "please keep your formula the same , and don't follow influences." Brands following influences have wrecked and canceled so many OG products that work only to replace them with garbage.
Inahsi Naturals was developed by a black chemist. For the Shu emura dc it might be cheaper if you get it from those Korean Beauty sites like Stylevana. Thanks for the video
For curl activators, I have liked the jerry curl brands ones more so far. Any brand that makes jerry curl products. The activators add slip and some are not sticky, its a category worth trying for those who have not. They are humectant heavy. Good for winter.
Love the video. I hate eco styler changed their formula. I’m not a label person but it was a 4 type hair go to. I know my wash n go curls are going to pop and stay especially since Ima totally gray, long thick hair curlie. I’m going to try some of those you recommended.
I like Catnu avocado leave in cream but a little goes a long way I currently love Olaplex as usual and the Redken Acidic Curls Line and the Shea Moisture Amla Bonding line love these three rotate between all three stylers I love mousse more so than gels love Camille Rose honey mousse, Tracee Ellis mousse
Hi ladies, Happy new year! Can you guys please try and review these brands: Kenya Moore Hair care, Cecred, Fenty Hair, Kreyol Essence, and Tia Mowry hair care products. Thank you.
The Miche detox/clarifying shampoo is the only clarifying shampoo I will probably ever use. It cleanses my hair without ever stripping and lathers like a dream, so a little goes a long way. I also love that it comes in an applicator bottle so you can get it directly onto the scalp with ease...a godsend if you have thick hair like me.
Great informative video! I love the Big Poppa gel. I’m going to try the Shea Moisture mask, Nexus conditioner, and ORS Olive Oil Curlshow Curl Creator, and Ouia shampoo based on your recommendations. Thanks! 🙏🏾💜
Olaplex shampoo is thick because it's concentrated. I tend to use too much shampoo, and end up rinsing all day. When used on wet, sectioned hair, a dime size amount is usually enough. My hairdresser uses too much sometimes.
Hey Beauty!!! Happy New Year!!! 🎊🥳 Kelsey, your hair is so freckin pretty!! he beat is gorgeous!! From a loving fan, I look forward to seeing new content from y'all!!
Eco styler never worked out for me. It was too heavy for wash and go. My hair never dried on the bottom layers. It worked really well on my edges though. I re-upped on the Eco styler olive oil gel at a beauty supply store but it smelled different. So I thought it was a counterfeit. I bought it again at Walmart and it still smelled different and left flakes after one day. Seriously I was so embarrassed when I got home.
I think Kerastase's new formula is better for women who want to heat style. I think heat styling is coming back, not just for black women but for all women too. There is a demand for lighter weight products. I have fine hair but lots of it so I'm on the fence about the new formula. Luckily I only bought the small $30 bottle of the new one. I tried Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum but it's giving Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine hair serum, it's soooooo oily but doesn't coat all of your strands at the same time. I loved the Old Kerastase bc it was the perfect balance & it had water soluable silicones. I think I might try Rossano Ferretti's Shine & Protect hair oil, it's comparible to Kerastase ingredient-wise & slightly cheaper, but it might be a light weight formula as well. Morroccan Oil Serum, Amika Frizz Blockade, & Joon Hair Elixir are also on my radar, but I'm suspicious of the dimethicone. I really prefer to use water soluable silicones, but I'm washing my hair regularly & doing more heat styling so it might be an irrational fear. Will try & update.
Happy New Year Kelz and Kendra! 🥳🎆🥂🍾 Your curls are poppin! 🥰🔥 I haven’t used eco gel in years, and that was my favorite gel when I went natural. I think it got overhyped by UA-camrs, tbh. 😂 Tfs these products, I need to try the Olaplex conditioner and the Kaleidoscope products. May the New Year bring you both more blessings and happiness! ❤❤❤🙏🏾
Salon size olaplex 5 is on sale at ulta right now. Im obsessed with no8 mask so i refuse to buy no 5. Lol but im a skip condiitoner use a deep conditioner girl. My hair is easy to detangle with the deep conditioners that i choose. But i also cosign on nexxus humectress. Before i was a product junkie, as a new natural i used it for 3 years and my hair grew just fine.
This video came right in time as I’m running out of products. I wanted to buy the so so slick edge gel through your description but a different edge control is linked from the same brand.
I like the REDKIN BOND REPAIR that you showed in a video. The Design Essentials Honey Curl Custard, I use more to slick hair back with a light hold of for a Twist Out. Otherwise, definitely have to use another product with it like a good holding moose. They changed the formula of the Tresseme Mouse not good!
I'm loving your blush...... details please ❤ Product recommendations: I have been using Miche deep conditioners, Indulge and Strengthen for years. I would love to see you try them both and also the gel to foam mousse. Miche is a small Black owned company 😊
I also hated the olaplex number 4 shampoo and I'm glad I'm not the only one. It dried tf out of my ends and hair in general. I never felt my hair feel like that before. It was scary tbh. Luckily it was just a sample size so I didn't really lose any money.
i agree with eco styler. i have to use hair spray now which is....ok...my wash no goes used to be so eye catching. :( currently using up eco until i find something compariable.
I used to love the Cantu cream, but I tried the one in the new packaging last year and it was super thick and too fragranced. Similarly the Design Essential custard, I used to love it for a twist out but the texture feels different to me once the packaging changed. Same with Eco of course
I know y’all know about the Kera Kare moisturizing gelly it’s good on it’s own but it doesn’t play well with the products I love it for a quick little wash and go but they have really good products and not expensive
Cantu went downhill with the new packaging and formulation. I really only used the curl cream in the my jar. It was my staple until the reformulation.. thing rose water curl cream is the best I've found in 6 yrs
Agreed, Cantu is not moisturizing enough. And the new line “for natural hair” is no better. I just use it for my curly extensions for the scent which I’m literally obsessed with, but will never purchase again. Eco never gave what it was supposed to give for my 4a hair besides flakes BUT the TikTok girlies say they leave the top open for atleast 24hrs to make it thicken up which helps with the hold. I love how you keep telling these companies what they need to do 😂😂 YOU need to go back to your old formula 🤣🤣
The only Cantu product i will use is the 3% SALICYLIC ACID Guava shampoo...(as a 1st CLARIFYING wash !) it exfoiliates well and scalp feels and looks so refreshed with a menthol cooling feeling...apart from Neutrogena i havent seen a 3% salicylic treatment, does anyone know of any?
You say not black owned anymore, some of the hair products we bought because they were packaged as being for black hair care were never owned by black people, do your research and find out for yourself, yes really, you will be surprised.
Eco Styler literally removed all the hold from their gels. They are worthless for our hair types now.
I notice that too I totally agree 👎🏾
😮 No worries, they forcing us to buy black now 🙌🏾
No wonder I can no longer use it to slick down my buns
They sure did
That’s crazy after all the free promo they got from UA-camrs all these years, smh.
I gotta say I’m SHOCKED at the Olaplex lol I love the shampoo. This is why we say, what works for some may not work for all 😌
I enjoy Olaplex shampoo. I think that it's easy to use too much. Knowing that it is concentrated helps. I use a dime size on each section. I get tons of lather.

@@marleecarolperhaps Kelsey didn't know that the shampoo is concentrated. My hairdresser uses too much sometimes.
@VIsidore Indeed. Hopefully she sees the comments and gives it another try with a smaller amount. 🙌🏾

I love joico moisture line
Im not really feeling the conditioner. I guess for a professional line i expected more. I do love the shampoo and i hope the treatment is better.
The Olaplex shampoo is amazing and very sudzy. Its one of my favorites.
Please try the miche beauty tropical oasis gel. They are a small black owned business
Indulge is one of my favorites
I wanted to love this, but it wasn't great.
I love the niche tropical oasis gel. The best hold ever on any gel I ever owned
Olaplex shampoo rules! That and the No. 5 condish caused me ro retain 4 inches last year.
I loooove the Olaplex shampoo. A little goes a looong way. If anyone does try it you literally need the tiniest amount
With Olaplex No.4 you have to use a little water to emulsify first. It’s thick because it’s concentrated and meant to last longer.
Miche Tropical Oasis Gel is Top Tier.
A lot of the reformulations are happening because of new info on toxic ingredients and because of loss of access to ingredients from other countries. Politics can ruin a lot.
The curl show curl creator is my go to! I’ve been using it for a little over a year for my son and I. I don’t hear enough people talk about it.
Eco changed about 2 years ago I had figured it was just me or something. I threw the new ones away and used the last bit of the old I had.
I always love hearing you and Kendra talk about products cause you guys always put me on to the good stuff lol i would love to see you all review Melanin Haircare!
