    Thank you for making this video. I'm a Catholic woman who veils and it seems like, although our beliefs and lifestyles may be very different it appears that we veil for many of the same reasons. It's always fascinating to hear about other religions and why they cover.

    I'm a healthcare worker and I like to veil to protect my energy and crown. Scrub hats are amazing for this. They are also all fabric and are easy to carry had throw on.

      Is it disrespectful if someone rips a scarf/veil off my head as a pagan? I know it’s disrespectful for a Muslim women.

    • @ThomasMackenlay
      @ThomasMackenlay День тому

      @@Fizzy_moth7 it likely wouldn’t be the offensive in the same way as modesty, more so like pulling someone’s hat or glasses off. Still would be offensive though and if it was happening at a school, workplace, etc you’d probably benefit from reporting it.

    I know I’m probably late to the party, but I felt for a couple years that I should be wearing a veil (or headdress), but never didn’t because I thought it was only for the Muslim faith. I tried sticking with putting my hair up in historically accurate hairstyles, though it didn’t feel right. I have a overwhelming fear of strangers (who are primarily male) which based a lot of my fears and cognitive distortion and it eventually turn to me wearing it for modesty. I found these videos while looking for pagan hairstyles and I found it so interesting. When I heard about a call in this video it was very surprising because for a while I felt I needed to cover my head, I was uncomfortable when my head wasn’t covered but I didn’t want to take it as a goddess was trying to contact me because I don’t like jumping to conclusions. I got my “starter veil” because I have good ones coming in on Wednesday, and have just now started to veil my hair after energizing it and cleansing it of negative energy (because it belonged to a starting hoarder who is now a family friend) and I have never felt so safe, I felt a bit empowered in a way (not too much), but it feels like a match made by the universe. Thank you for being the person to introduce me to this 🙏🏻

    Been veiling regularly (pagan, feel called to it, mainly by Vesta) for a few weeks now and watched a lot of videos about it. Think this is the first time I've heard the association with motherhood mentioned. Am a childless person by choice but I still consider myself to be in the "mother" phase of life because of creative pursuits and homemaking and what not. A lot of other reasons you talked about apply to me as well. Appreciate the video!

      The mother phase is about so much more than literal parenthood 🧡 nurturing careers, nurturing yourself, nurturing projects… they all count. Even plants and animals. Modern motherhood to me means being a cat dad to all the cats in my neighbourhood 😁

    I started veiling for religious reasons and because of my sensory issues. 🖤The scarves I use are so soft and they help to block out a lot of light. They make me feel safe. But I’m scared to wear them now, with everything going on. We’ve had a rise in hate crimes where I live.

    Thank you for this. I have been called by my spirits to cover my head and hair consistently for many months now. I had to debate with my self regarding my motivations for doing it, and ways I could do it that won't be stealing styles from cultures that aren't mine (specifically Black American, African, Jewish, and Muslim styles).

    • @TheHeartofjackie
      @TheHeartofjackie Рік тому +5

      As a Muslim I say u are not stealing our style if u choice to cover like us. U are welcomed if u want to. 💜

    • @magikyuu3279
      @magikyuu3279 5 місяців тому +2

      the sentiment of stealing from other cultures is dumb. it promotes separation. no one cares if you wear those styles as long as it isnt out of malice. cultures and traditions are created by combining already existing cultures and tradtions. id say dont worry about "stealing" from others. plus there is evidence of head covering in all cultures, like catholicism and greek cultures.

    I am a trans guy but I want to veil. I'm unsure if it's inappropriate for men. I just feel called to it.

    • @OuchMouse

      Men can absolutely veil! 🧡 Back when my hair was longer it actually made me feel more masculine because you couldn’t see my hair 😁

    • @AmandaMerkel
      @AmandaMerkel 11 місяців тому +1

      Ofc not! But most styles you see are very feminine if that's an issue for you. Veiling was and is much more common for women and in some religions only the women veil and it's considered a dishonor for a man to. Because you know, sexism and all that garbage.

    • @Garamisinnocent1116

      It is appropriate if it isn’t against the religion pagan religions don’t say men can’t veil it’s just not as common I veil (I am a biological male and identify as a male)

    I have been called to paganism since I was thirteen, started actively researching at fourteen and felt called to veiling/started veiling partially at sixteen. Now I work with the Norse Goddess Nyx, she is not directly known for veiling but she 'brought the veil of the night over the world' and the night, the color Black, black animals, veils, stars and all of these things have been calling for me since I was very little and veiling just made me feel so much more connected to her and general spirituality even when I was not free to actually practice paganism and I love to be able to freely decide what to wear and how to connect to my deity and myself

    it is so sad that we need to hide the reason we are veiling to certain people, either because of family, or strangers. we shouldn’t have to fear rejection for worshiping our Gods

    I'm coming back into veiling after breaking away from it for a long time mainly due to some mental health struggles and I have found my veil just as like when I first worn it is really good for confidence, and for my spirituality. It has helped a lot

    First of all - your reaction to the sun making an appearance was hilarious and peak British.
    Secondly, thank you for this video. I am pagan (my spirituality has elements of Druidry and I am heavily aligned with The Goddess and am working towards becoming a Priestess) and have recently (literally in the last week) felt the pull to veil. Your video was so wonderful at explaining different reasons for veiling and I realised I have some reasons I wasn't actually aware of consciously.
    Brightest Blessings to you.

    Question: if I don't a traditional headscarf for veiling, can I use a shorter head covering? (Sry if this was already answered in the video)

    If you're raised in the country you might know this superstition, but I was always taught that you shouldn't put your hat open side down because your luck comes out of the top of your head and if you put it down that way it spills out

    Is paganism a religion, a lifestyle? Do the spells “work” if that makes sense? Hopefully I’m not being rude. I want to understand and learn more. This is interesting :)

    • @OuchMouse
      @OuchMouse  3 роки тому +2

      For most it’s a religion, or a faith, but it can be a lifestyle for some. It really depends on your beliefs about life and the world, if any gods or goddesses are included in that, deities, external forces etc., and athiest pagans exist. The term “pagan” technically refers to non-abrahamic religions, but it’s moved away from that now. I’m so glad you find it interesting! 🥰

      Spells are like prayers. If it works really depends on your intention and consistency (depending on the type of spell). Think of it like from the book The Secret. Where you put the energy of your intention or wants/needs into the universe. The more and more you focus on it and put that good energy out there as well as visualize or act as if you have the intended results - it will happen.
      Kind of like when you are late to work already and you get stuck in traffic - the bad energy you put out telling the universe that you won't make it to work on time - you will definitely be late.

      paganism is a lifestyle and a religion. spells are not inherently a part of paganism. spells are witchcraft. witchcraft are not necessary to be pagan

    What an amazing video I could have listened for an hour it was so good! I really like your veil! Another question does the veil make your hearing aids feedback? I have learnt so much hence I wish it was longer! I love magic! And paganism! I would have loved to be a white witch! You do look beautiful wearing the veil! This may seem a silly question so please forgive me does this affect a person being genderqueer? Have you done many spells & rituals & do you belong to a covern? I love your top by the way! It's good to know another side of you! What sort of veil could say a genderqueer person like me wear? Thank you ❤️❤️

      Many questions, but it has no effect on my gender at all. It doesn’t change my identity as a person, just my spiritual practice 😊

      @@OuchMouse sorry for all the questions this subject has interested me for years! And I am now catching up with your other video's on the subject! I believe the earth has so much uptapped energy! So much we don't know about! It made a lovely change from chronic illness's etc which I still love hearing about! But the veil was very interesting! So as far as I am concerned 20 mins was not long enough! A Q&A on this subject would be so helpful! You can only learn so much From a book & TV shows are very Hollywood! But I do appreciate you replying as I know your not one for long replies! & With my sight & hearing not good I am always scared I miss something you said & then ask stupid questions! I was expecting more views & questions! ☹️💖💖

    How much experience do I need to veil? Ive kind of just realized that I've been veiling unintentionally for a while, and I feel called to + feel like it would provide protection, but I'm so so new to paganism, and I don't know much at all in any way. So like, how long do I need to practice paganism/do I have to actively practice in the first place/how much do I need to know to do this? Many apologies for the questions, and I hope you have a good day!

    • @OuchMouse
      @OuchMouse  2 роки тому +4

      There are no prior requirements to veil, it doesn’t matter how new you are, how long you’ve been practicing, how often you practice, how much you know. You’ll learn as you go and you’ll figure out what’s right for you 🧡
