  • Whether you use RVi products or another company's TPMS, communication issues are bound to happen. Some of it's unavoidable, such as driving through an area with bad background interference - but oftentimes more extreme communication issues stem from signal interference within the motorhome itself.
While we can't always eliminate the source of that kind of interference, we can often mitigate it. In this video, Chris is going to cover some best practices for doing exactly that (and there's a bonus tip in here for boosting your Hub's signal, if you're an RVi customer).
NOTE: Hubs made/purchased from RVi after May 2024 do not need the X-tend antenna.

Good post, the first run with the new antenna and the passenger front sensor with the hum mid coach was still spotty at highway speeds. I returning home today i moved the hub to top of the dashboard and no drop outs at all and the rears are no longer spotty with the new antenna even with the router near the hub.

That's a bit surprising - usually, a dashboard would be the place where we'd see some of the highest levels of interference. However, if that spot works well, then definitely continue to use it there!

Good overview, I have the 10 sensor Tire Patrol and found that center of the bed, fully charged hub, antenna pointed at the tablet and in direct line of sight of the tablet to have the best results. My only issue is the airplane mode on the tablet, every so often it goes on airplane mode, absolutely drives me crazy. I know there's a process to fix it, but that multi step process is not very user friendly.

Unfortunately that is a hard-coded piece of the Android operating system that can pop in and out at times. We have tried to mitigate it, but you're right - it can definitely get annoying. One thing you can try is to factory restore the tablet. It doesn't guarantee Airplane Mode will go away forever but it does seem to help reduce the frequency of it. The downside is that you wind up having to repair to the rest of your system again, which is a process. If you wind up wanting to go that route, we have a video showing how to go through the restore process here: ua-cam.com/video/9VU6X_03wZk/v-deo.html
