I have had this bottle for over 6 months and I still have about 1/3 of the bottle left. To me this is VERY cost effective. I use it to clean veggies, my counters, and sometimes my windows regularly.
Note: We are basically blanching the greens. Only cook them long enough to wilt them and NO LONGER. This is very important as we do not want to cook the flavor and nutrients out the greens, just make them smaller.
    Ingredients
Greens of choice: Collards, kale, turnip, or mustard
    onions
    garlic
    smoked turkey or ham
    To Cook:
When you are ready to cook thaw the greens in the fridge overnight or on a bowl with cold water. Add then to a pot and simmer with a little chicken broth until the greens are cooked. Season with preferred spices. I typically use chicken bouillon, touch of sugar, apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes, and Creole seasoning.
To make in the instant pot, thaw the greens enough to be able to get them out the bag. Add to the instant pot with 1 cup chicken broth and spices. Pressure cook for 45 min ( or less, if using mustard or turnip greens 15 min should be enough) . Release the pressure and adjust seasoning if needed.

I cook my greens completely and freeze them. I take them out of the freezer the night before thanksgiving and warm them the morning of. They are delicious all of the seasonings and the smoked neck bones has settled into the greens.

Me as well I can cook them completely freeze several bags. My daughters and I cut up several bushels of collard greens at one time as we eat a lot of them don’t want to fall and winter months. We go on a head wash, cut, season of real good and cook them down. We allow them to cool and then put them in gallon size freezer bags and take them out whenever you want greens for either Sunday dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We sometimes have a bag left over for New Year’s as well. Since they were frozen when you take them out the morning of the day, you’re planning to use them and call them and then let them cook for about additional 30 minutes. When I tell you, they are so seasoned and delicious and tender. I hope you give that a try.

I love greens! I make a combo of kale, collards, turnip, spinach, and mustard greens. I season with either ham hocks or smoked turkey greens. I freeze quart bags of them and it makes a lot!

I agree with surfactant cleansing green. Years ago when I first starting cooking my sis in law taught me to wash them with Joy. We rinsed them well and no soap was left on the green. Thanks for sharing Camirra.

I agree about the soap👍🏻😊 I've been doing this since my boys were little. I want to be sure they are squeaky clean. In our family we do collard mixed with turnip greens....we pour off the water because its supposed to "get rid of any lasting bacteria.. Missed bugs.. Grit... Etc" .... Once rinsed... Back in. Pan.. Add homemade chicken broth.. Pinch of sugar(cause Meme says it takes the edge off the bitter) .. Pinch of baking soda(makes them tender) ... Smoked meat(whatever sounds good that day... Lol)... Salt... pepper... Garlic...Cook till tender and scrumptious! Nothing too fancy... Bit of vinegar pepper sauce drizzled on top right before eating... Mmmmmm... Mmmmm.... Good! ♥️ Thx for the idea of adding kale.... Sounds delish! We are from North Carolina originally. I'm wondering what variations people may have across the country🤔🤔🤔Love the prep... I'm for anything that makes my day easier👍🏻😊♥️💯 Thx for your great ideas

Personally I was never raised on them. I always heard they have a different flavor. My mom only cooked the traditional greens and because she is old school and southern we never were allowed to "experiment" at the holidays. But I know people that do like them a lot. I tried them once and because they were different than what I am use to I bypass them. I don't care for them, lol.
