Really, really enjoying these Children's Royal Variety Performances - many thanks once again for sharing! Please do keep them coming if at all possible. :-)
The 2 things i remember most about this show when i watched it in 1988 was Bananarama and the guy doing Michael Jackson with the puppets on bars. Thanks for posting it!
I do like that we can see when the kid that had this vhs would fast forward tye boring bits. Every time it turns to static, I smile because I'm also bored with that bit.
What year was it they had a tiny segment where the ghostbusters showed up? Im sure ninja turtles also appeared that year? Its the reason ive looked up this stuff. I really dont want to sit thru all of this. Must say. Really pleased someone uploaded this. Be lost to time if it wasn't fir the Internet. thank You to the uploader
There was more variety in these Children's RVPs than in the grown-up Royal Variety Performances, to this day. Contemporary TV entertainers think they're too cool to put on silly costumes and work in this manner - They are not. (Those who were acquainted with the great Harry Blackstone Jnr, even in the sense of passing by him at speed, may be suspect of how the child volunteers helping with the cage trick usually included a blonde girl in an age-atypical big dress)
These were absolutely 💯 amazing
David Tomlinson...what a gentleman!

We won't see entertainment like that again.
I can always remember wanting to be on one of the royal variety performances as a child! Thats why I liked them so much!
they don't make them like that anymore - especially enjoyed you Jimmy, great times.
59:18 A rare look into the history of one of Roald Dahl's most famous books.

Wow David Tomlinson! Hes very well spoken wasnt he?
he was a proper actor, and not in the sense of being somewhat posh
From Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks
@@bheast86 From Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks
The touching and guessing the celebrity was a bit near the knuckle and slightly twisted when the overwhelmed kids had to guess . Too adult
Roald Dahl was very good looking as a young man!
Where is Mickey Mouse?
They don't show children's royal variety perf no mor.e
Oh dear Roy Castle
1:02:30 hard to believe this is Dolores Umbridge.. She deserved to get carried off by horny centaurs
The childre are very well behaved and we'll rehersed
Acceptable in 1998: blindfolding a twelve year old and telling a half-naked man to place her hand on his 'most prominent feature'. Yikes. :O
