How many push-ups can Chuck Norris do? All of them. But what happens when this legendary figure crosses paths with Segata Sanshiro, legendary defender of the Sega Saturn? Only Chuck and Segata know.

My uncle actually met Chuck Norris while he was on tour in Desert Storm. He took a photo with him and Chuck told an awesome Chuck Norris joke which caused my uncle to double over laughing.

Hey Ris, I think that Chuck and Segata fought forever... the Big Bang was caused by Chuck's roundhouse kick to Segata's face. The extinction of the dinosaurs was caused by Segata throwing Chuck at the Earth... and Chuck survived of course... many events occurred. Now... Chuck and Segata ripped a hole in time, space and every bit of existence. That sent them back to time and when there was nothing at all... and then... it starts again...

It's not, just like every other freaking Death Battle shown on there, it was just for the scene. It was in 2d because the whole fight was in 2d so they were staying consistent. It was very likely just Kio Ken Goku.

D: In actuallity I was just a bit annoyed that so many people took that one scene so seriously and assumes it to be confirmation that they will redo the fight when there could be any number of reasons they showed it. I am just annoyed they are jumping to a conclusion when they have no real proof so I thought you were calling me an idiot just because I disagreed that it was anything besides a simple image. Sorry. ^^;
Overall this was the most impressive death battle so far. It was so fun just watching it.

You know the sad part is that people are complaining about this not ending in a death or being a "serious" episode. I mean come one people. REALLY? We have a guy who beat the crap out of people for not playing a Sega Saturn and a guy who became a meme used for people to make up anything about him, both characters can literally get away with anything because they exist in the fictional and non fictional world.
Anyways, Nightmare vs Guts. Glad to see another Soulcalibur character get into the fray. I don't know much about Guts, but I heard that he probably has one of the darkest stories compared to most characters that have been in Death Battle.
Hmm I can say that Guts has a very very tragic backstory. People like Batman, Ragna or Deathstroke compare to him feels like a walk in the park, but I doubt that SA will cover the whole thing. So who do you think will get the next fight? My money on Guts.

All right I just put spoilers for those who don't know. Big spoilers:
Guts' mother was killed while carrying him, Guts was born inside the womb of his dead mother and left on the battlefield for 3 days until he was found by a band of mercs. He looked up to the leader, then the leader sold him to a man who raped Guts. The leader acted like it was Tuesday, a few years later Guts killed him. Thinking he has killed his father figure, Guts ran away then he met a man named Griffith and joined his band of the Hawk. The two became best buds, fought on many battlefield until Griffith gone insane, summoning a bunch of demons to massacre his teammates, raped, Casca, Guts' lover in front of his eyes and cut off Guts' left hand. Casca suffered from amnesia and was impregnanted with Griffith's demon child, she antagonized Guts when he tried to kill the child. So he left to hunt down Griffith.
Since Berserk features many mature subjects like genocide, rape, religious, I don't think they will cover them all. It'd cool if they do though.

Kumquatodor You know, the thing about instant transport is . . . . INSTANT! and he cannot pass himself, unlike Chuck or Sanshiro, I'm pretty sure they stick to the laws of physics. Unless it's like the pre-reboot superman.
Diesel Marcus Tell that to the Flash! He's done it. In modern canon. It's a feat. Although, to be fair, the passing himself thing is probably due to casual time travel. The "faster than instant" is not, though. He's done it. Twice. He's fought (AND BEAT) pre-reboot Superman. I'm not kidding.
Chuck Norris sprite is based on Joseph Joestar from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, whereas Segata Sanshiro's sprite is based on a generic karate mod it seems.
Chuck's sprites are based off that of Joseph Joestar from a game based on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Segata's, meanwhile, are modified from Takuma from King of Fighters 98 (Ironic considering that KoF 98 wasn't released on the Saturn)

Omegeddon I have learned the limitations of the Master chief and how he would fair against either Boba Fett or Samus Aran.
Fun Fact: Segata's character is based on another Japanese movie character named Sugata Sanshiro, created by none other than the legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. It was also his very first film. I just rented it from the library, and although kinda dated, it is a very fascinating movie to watch, especially if you are interested in Japanese culture.
I wonder if people, when they suggest a fight, really want to see the actual fight, or see their character kick another characters ass.

Honestly, I'm more interested in another round of Link vs. Cloud. Like. There was so much more between the two of them that could have been used that wasn't, like more spells, the fusion sword, the fierce deity mask and the mirror shield.
We saw Goku and Superman wreck shit up and we saw almost all of what they can do. We barely scratched the surface with Link and Cloud.

I don't know if anyone has told you but the sprite for Chuck Norris is based off of Old Johnathan from the 2D JoJo's Bizarre Adventure game (you can DL on PS3) and Segata's is based off of Takuma from King of Fighters/Art of Fighting series. This was one wacky battle that's for sure but I really wanna see the next battle.

I saw Lone Wolf McQuade myself. I intend to watch his other films from the 1980's and Hitman (that's the film he made before appearing in Sidekicks). My first recollection of Chuck was the "Walker Texas Ranger" lever skits from Conan O'Brien. Funny and awesome at the same time.

The Chuck Norris sprite was definitely an edited version of Joseph Jostar from the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fighting game.

And this is the reason there are thunderstorms. Each flash of lighting is Chuck and Segata exchanging blows.
Great video as always, I also just noticed that when Segata threw Saturn's ring at Chuck, that was a joke, as Segata is the mascot of the Sega SATURN, and used Saturn's ring, a little hidden thing there, not sure if it was intentional.

I imagine it's one they could redo, simply because GT kinda went the way of the Star Wars extended universe, and Goku now has God form, which is substantially more powerful than Super Saiyan 4. Also, he apparently can access his God form on his own if the situation calls for it, as he did in the movie. Though, since then, he's learned to harness his God power without needing the form.

I was hoping for Segata to win, since I love his theme song and always found Chuck Norris jokes to be annoying, but the battle was just so over-the-top fun that I loved it anyway. It kinda reminded me of my favorite anime, Gurren Lagann, which I really hope gets into a Death Battle someday.
For the next battle: I'm slightly more familiar with Nightmare than Guts, but not enough for me to care if he wins or loses. I guess I'm hoping for Guts to win, so people will stop saying that DB is biased against anime characters.
I'm really looking forward to Galactus vs Unicron which will be coming later; battle of the planet eaters!

Honestly this was one of the most fun death battles I've seen in a while. Although I do want to correct one thing. Ever since the reboot, Sonic's world isn't Earth 3000 years in the future. So the whole thing about him living that long doesn't work. But this entire episode was made in a joking manner so I don't mind.
They likely meant the comics or some continuity of Sonic. I know there isn't just one version of Sonic.
I know. They were talking directly about his brief appearance in the comics, which they said is set 3000 years in the future. I'm saying that bit of information is incorrect since his appearance is after the reboot, and thus the whole 3000 years thing doesn't apply anymore.
In your Let's Watch of Darth Vader vs Dr. Doom, I noticed you displeasure in finding out that they would be doing a rematch between Superman and Goku. But the thing is, there was already a hint that they would be doing that here in this video. Check out 16:17 to 16:18 here. It's only for a moment, but...just take a close look right in that time frame.

When I first saw this episode, I thought that it was the end of DeathBattle.
I would like to point out that our sun is too small to super nova and turn into a black hole. But then again, it's Chuck Norris, being hurled at a bajillion light years per second with the help of ice, dust, and rocks that were caught in the gravitational orbit of Saturn(I like how Segata used Saturn. It was clever!) thrown by Segata Sanshiro. Logic was defied as soon as he left earth.
What annoyed me about this fight was the picture of SSJG Goku Hitting Superman, because it's a big tease to the fans for something they're not going to do. With everything else in the episode though, I feel it doesn't mess with how awesome the rest of it is as a whole.
Just curious, do you watch the previews or do you wait for the episode itself?
I don't watch the previews; I'd rather everything be new to me when I watch the full episode.

I honestly think the next fight is going to be horrifically balanced and no way to predict who is going to win. If I HAD to chose, I think Guts, as he has specifically dedicated his LIFE to hunting demons JUST like Nightmare. It will be close, because Nightmare is an extraordinary demon by Gut's standards; *Spoiler* however after Nightmare... is defeated...
