It’s not safe. I can’t believe they can do this. Increase prices but don’t secure safety on the public transportation .
Congestion Pricing will only push the traffic to the other boroughs and most drivers will just park close to the Subways. If there is no improvements in Subway service, then this whole thing is a scam.
Do you even know how many projects are directly relying on congestion pricing? Obviously there's the 2nd ave subway, but also all the station improvement allowing for ada accessibility, the signal improvements which will boost the amount of trains serving lines which will boost capacity, the replacement of aging cars which will cut down on maintenance costs which can then be put into other projects. Simply put, the mta has never had a reliable source of income and credit until congestion pricing, and this will put the mta back on the right track
Statistically, riding in a car is far more dangerous than taking the train. Also, do you really think riding through midtown traffic is dependable but taking the trains aren't?
@@BLKW4RDR3M0N 259 People died in a car accident last year in NYC, and the number is likely higher this year. 45,000 Americans also died in a car crash last year. I don't see how subways would ever match these numbers. Relative to driving, taking the train has always been safer, even in the US.
Do you think with this new money grab, they will stop increasing the price of other river crossing or the subway and bus fare. Well, think twice, my friend. 😂😂
I feel like trucks shouldn't be charged, as food gets into Manhattan via trucks. For cars, I understand, as I don't drive there that often myself anyways. Just my 2 cents
Unfortunately this is another expense that the "Working Class" will have to stomach. They are the ones that spend the most money on goods/services delivered by trucks and companies, will "UNDOUBTEDLY" pass the expense onto them, to make up for loss revenue. It's a never ending cycle as the: "Rich get richer, the POOR get poorer"👎
Everyone who says that there won't be improvements to the public transportation system has probably not been living in NYC for the last decade. All buses are now modern, wheelchair-accessible, and electric. The A/C trains have been getting upgrades, which has improved commute times dramatically. They've been adding and enforcing bus lanes, which improved commute times for so many New Yorkers. Signal changes, the Q line extension, the Interboro express in the making. It's not like this new money will be going into a black hole. The budget is literally public, you can read it yourself and see which improvements will be funded by this money, how much it costs, when it will be implemented, etc.. Making more stations wheelchair accessible, replacing ancient signaling systems, replacing old trains that break down all the time, building more lines and stations, and so on. Even basic maintenance costs money! The MTA has been doing all of these things already on a tight budget, so why wouldn't they be able to do more of it with more money? It's such an ignorant complaint.
People complaining about congestion pricing but refuse to fight for higher pay raise use this to ask for minimum pay rate to go up and higher pay and stop focusing on the congestion pricing you can’t change that
in all the inflation increase when do they increase the price of the recycle coke can glass germany did this and they recycle 99 percent and we recycled at 10 cent i think 40 something percent
We wont see real results until the week of Martin Luther King. Currently people are still on vacation. The rider share business doesn’t pick up until then.
Now I have to take the bus and make sure I am scheduled to only work daylight shifts, because I now have to pay to drive into the city then pay to park the car. I will probably just sell my car...

It’s not safe. I can’t believe they can do this. Increase prices but don’t secure safety on the public transportation .
Not a single dollar will be used to fix the pot hole filled roads..
$9 today… $12 in 2028 and $15 in 2031. 😬
MTA never has $. Sure.
2:01 😂 home girl getting fired lol 😂😅😂😂😂
Is there a toll if I’m in upper east side 2nd Ave going south( left lane) to ed Koch bridge going to queens?
Take public transportation. Why drive into nyc by car? Such hell o to circulate and park.
Yes, more people are taking public transporation which is already undependable, overcrowded and not mention unsafe.
Statistically, riding in a car is far more dangerous than taking the train. Also, do you really think riding through midtown traffic is dependable but taking the trains aren't?
@sometwo7429 you either don't own a car or have no idea what you're talking about.
@@BLKW4RDR3M0N 259 People died in a car accident last year in NYC, and the number is likely higher this year. 45,000 Americans also died in a car crash last year.
I don't see how subways would ever match these numbers. Relative to driving, taking the train has always been safer, even in the US.
With lower congestion , I can do donuts!
the roads were empty today, not because of the congestion tolls I think there is a holiday tomorrow Tuesday we'll be able to tell.
The RICH won’t blink at this.
I hate nyc
5am is not a pick hour
Stop complaining. You got what you voted for. Keep voting democratic
2:04 well hello
CRIMINAL GREED
Mta just do what ever they want it seems
if gov of nj reduced bridge and tunnel tolls by $9 then the new congestion toll would not manner but they raise them instead
9 is ridiculous - it should have been 18!
Lmao get your Luigi hats
I hope trump will cancel this disgusting idea
Notice 0 money in a safety
Democrats sold you out, to the rich. 😂😂 Uber and life lobbied Democrats to pass this with massive amounts of money for their reelection. 😂😂
Stupi* this means small business taking big time hit. Restaurant deli everything. ask anybody traffic brings money in city.
People complaining about congestion pricing but refuse to fight for higher pay raise use this to ask for minimum pay rate to go up and higher pay and stop focusing on the congestion pricing you can’t change that
😮
in all the inflation increase when do they increase the price of the recycle coke can glass germany did this and they recycle 99 percent and we recycled at 10 cent i think 40 something percent
