Yes! I'm not particular fond of superhero comics, but there are so many creative and unique comics out there.
Omg I so agree...the best comics are never the superhero ones...or at least not generic superheroes. Locke and Key, Watchmen, Saga, Preacher, the Sandman, Maus, Y: the Last Man, From Hell, Bloom, East of West, etc. are all fantastic

I'm really excited for this series and it looks like Netflix has gathered some talented people to create an inspired adaptation of the comic. I'm impressed with the vibrant lighting, cinematography and colorful set/costume design in the clips I've seen. Compared to the Fox pilot, the look of this show feels truer to the vision of Hill and Rodriguez.
Honestly, I feel the opposite. Why is it so bright and colorful? The comics were dark and spooky as hell. Why does this look so much like Goosebumps and not Haunting of Hill House?
@@eruannster It's the look, not the tone. The comic panels are full of color. It's the tone of the story that's dark. We'll have to see if they pull their punches but I saw a behind the scenes clip with a man on fire and at 1:54, Kinsey is covered in blood. That kind of horror seems in keeping with the book. We'll just have to wait and see.

I love watching comic book adaptations. You already know most of the year. That's why it's nice to watch. I hope it would be a beautiful drama
The change in how the HEAD KEY is communicated is brilliant and is still really beautifully dense without being as macabre as the comic is. It's really genius. (I still prefer the head opening tho...)
I can't wait to see how they adapt other keys into live-action that may not be as easy to depict in a non-comic format. (Here's looking at you medical key)
Also, READ LOCKE & KEY. It's an amazing comic book!!!
If they do a special for the one-shot the Key to the Moon, I will be genuinely proud of netflix and the producers of the show.

You don't even have to adapt comics for "specials" You could just tell original stories in keyhouse as like a christmas special or a halloween or Easter special.
But yeah, Key to the Moon is a beautiful story to adapt.
It's great but it also makes certain aspects of how they store or remove things more difficult to convey. Which means they probably won't have the scene where Kinsey picks up the dark lady out of Bode's head to see her because now the head is a place you need to visit.
The first time they showed Joe Hill I literally thought I was looking at Stephen King in his younger days.

I loved these comics so much as a kid I was genuinely uncomfortable the whole time. Now watching the show I’m depressed because somehow even with help from the writer I feel like I’m watching riverdale

This show is amazing, and now I am waiting for season two because (spoiler alert) I need Bode, Kinsey and Tyler to find out that Gabe is actually Dodge and the one who went in to the black door was actually Ellie, and yes I watched the whole season in one day😌

Pretty good series reminds you of series like the magicians, and narnia. The characters got really annoying and cringy at points and some things happened for no reason but i liked it still. However one thing i disliked was how dark it was, literally, i kept trying to turn the brightness on my lp up, only in school it was ok not like that ep from GoT last season.
The comic seems good but that character art is hideous, the monsters and bg art is cool but most of the humans are fugly esp tyler and kingsley also what kind of name is bode i kept thinking of the vegetable.

A lot of the series you guys have were great but you put in an unwanted mud scene to spice things up and ruined the flow of the show...
The comic it self is meant for mature readers due to graphic violence and some unsettling situations. I haven't seen any genitals of the sort yet (I'm only on volume 2 head games which is the one involving the head key). I wouldn't be surprised if they toned it down to make it pg-13 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@gioisaweirdo2485 if they tone it down to pg 13 then it won't be worth watching, the disturbing violence made the comics special and there isn't much nudity in the later comics although in one scene tyler and jordan hook up

So this is a live action version of monster house?
When they say the house is "alive" they don't mean it is literally alive or possessed. Locke & key is basically what it sounds like in the title. Each key's purpose is different and only open one lock (except for the Anywhere Key and probably a couple of others that could open any door.) And they are made by a specific iron called the whispering iron. The house is simply a place where you could find most of the keys and their locks. (Shown in volume 2)

When I watched the series, it was great, but the end was stupid. It made the entire series a failure and more wrong. The woman returns home, and she holds the key in her pocket. Do you think the viewer is stupid?
