    Imagine having the courage to voice your thoughts like that in front of millions of people, knowing that if you follow your thoughts dutifully, they will lead you onto an incredibly delicate and emotional ledge. But still you do it. If I had the verbal skills to perfectly capture how some music makes me feel, this video would be it.

      I just love trance, house and progressive. I wish I could share with people what I feel when listening to music, I have these moments of such a high feeling, its not all the time, but often enough that makes me addicted to it. I often chase this music high and when I get it, changes me little by little, I use this process to renew hope, dreams, or to amplify feelings that need to be worked on whether sad or happy. It is similar to a flow state, every thought, emotion, body vibration goes into auto pilot and things just flow, everything is just right.
      I'd be very interested to find places where people discuss these things as I am curious to hear if people have similar experiences.

    I'm 27 and self-taught in guitar for 11 years (not bragging I was just too lazy to learn theory) and to hear what JP says about the improv guitarist and their influence on people's lives is spot on. If I could be brutally honest, playing guitar isn't only what makes me truly happy and ultimately saved my life, but I'm convinced it also helped so many people who had the chance to sit, listen, and let go of their demons for just a minute or two before they come back to reality. Any guitarist should try this; Go busking on the street if you know how to improvise or even join in on a jam with some friends and people listening, play your part but DONT OPEN YOUR EYES. When you're at the end of the song open them. Notice how many people were there before and after you've decided to close your eyes. THAT to me is the example of what JP is talking about, people will come up to you and not just say good job or that was amazing, but thank you, I needed this. There's nothing more beautiful in the world to me than bringing people together by talking to them without words, just sound. It seems to channel their hearts easier than language itself.

    Think about this .
    The number 7 is everywhere in the bible .
    The true rainbow has 7 colors . Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet
    Music has 7 named primary diatonic notes of the major scale . A B C D E F G
    In the baseline cases below - the presence and intensity of the light will be constantly on and not flashing and the audio tones will be sounded for a regulated duration, volume and speed .
    At comfortable brightness ->
    Low frequency light - colors - red orange yellow and combinations - are soothing ( relax more )
    Medium frequency light - colors yellow green blue and combinations - are neither soothing nor exiting - they are comforting ( everything is ok )
    High frequency light - colors blue indigo violet and combinations - are exiting ( do more )
    At comfortable volumes ->
    Low frequency audio tones and combinations - are soothing ( relax more )
    Medium frequency audio tones and combinations - are neither soothing nor exiting - they are comforting ( everything is ok )
    High frequency audio tones and combinations - are exiting ( do more )
    In both cases, it is evident that variations in volume / intensity / duration of presence and speed of change / repetition - always contribute to or counter the effects that are observed when regulated baseline conditions are maintained . Just as the variation in frequencies / intensity / duration of presence of light are correspondingly effective, in the same way - variations in frequencies / volume / duration of presence of audio are correspondingly effective .

      @@MrGhostTube I understand where you're coming from. To clarify my credentials, I've been playing guitar for 8 years now. And I listen to Steely Dan - they've made some of the most complex pop music ever recorded - and that's an objective analysis considering they used Jazz Harmony and unusual chord voicings very extensively. Obviously, an orchestra musician will get frustrated playing the same thing over and over again. That's the definition of monotony. But that's unrelated to what Peterson is saying.

    • @MrGhostTube
      @MrGhostTube 2 роки тому +3

      @@aryamansingh7452 it's not unrelated at all. You recognise that music is complex and has the capability to generate strong emotional responses in people. That's an emotional trigger not some kind of universal truth about life. Would you make such a claim for visual stimuli that do the same thing? If I take DMT or LSD and it generates strong emotions am I touching the truth or just responding to the chemical reactions in my brain? If a picture stirs emotions does it automatically contain the truth?
      If I shout obscenities at you and I get a strong emotional response am I automatically speaking a fundamental truth?
      For context I played bass guitar in a band for years and I have an extensive music collection that spans most genres. I make electronic music.
      What Peterson is doing is taking an obvious truism and expanding it into something its not. He does it all the time. Music is many things to many people. He probably confines the truth in music to western classical work much as he believes that the Bible is a prerequisite for truth because he believes it was 'the first book'. You can't discount types of music if you make claims about music in general.
      Honestly I don't understand how people take this man seriously. He's a psych professor who says he didn't know benzos were addictive. They're psych meds. 😂 He Iectures people on living their lives when he can't get his own in order without drugs. 😂

      @@MrGhostTube you make good points. About people taking him seriously, you can't deny that he's a very captivating speaker. Incredibly articulate guy.

    This guy is the oddest of ducks. He always seems on the precipice of emotional collapse. He takes himself way too seriously, and is all over the place. He's exactly the kind of weirdo the terminally online would idolize.

    "People think of music as a non-representational art." That statement alone shows what an intellectual charlatan this man is. Which people? Where? Where is the research evidence? On top of that he clearly has no idea what 'Programme music' is, let alone what some of the great composers were aiming to represent through their work. Someone please put him out of our misery.

      It is Intuitive representation, i think what he meant to say. Not a clear observable representation

      You’re finding fault because you’re actively looking for it.
      Not a good position to be in, in any sense.

    I love Peterson but what the actual fuck is he talking about? 💀💀
    “The world is made of objects. No it’s not, it’s made of patterns.” ??????

    i understand what he’s talking about but it’s not music; it’s math it’s a mushroom thought that’s why he’s crying about it lol; we like patterns in general, and he differentiates music and sound (which i don’t like) because you can have sound with pattern and not call it music; because we aren’t really aware of sound because we’ve always had it. once you start becoming aware of sound you can notice the math and I think that’s true about every fundamental element of the universe. lines curves, light sound, push and pulls, protons and electrons

      Yes but I think the point he’s making with music is that it communicates with us much more directly than with other things.
      Also Peterson cries all the time lol. I think he’s partially just emotional like that and partially a little wonky from the drug abuse.
