  • In 2012, I had the privilege of interviewing Jeanne Robertson at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee. Enjoy and experience Jeanne [perhaps] in a way that you've not before...relaxed and just talking a little about her life and craft.

      I discovered her in my late seventies . My family originated from Missouri but we always had southern ladies also. She was discovered on my smart phone in the middle of night . My husband of forty five years died in April of 2020 at the beginning of covid .Jeannes humor made me smile and eventually laugh. In the wee hours of my sleepless nights she was a blessing to my broken heart . Loved her so much.

    I was saddened when I read about this phenomenal lady’s passing. The celebration of life was lovely and touching. She had such a tremendous impact on my life. I would listen to her stories and back porch talks on my commute to and from work and while sewing. She was quite an inspiration! Her stories of friends and family helped me see the joy and humor in my life and made me laugh - what a delight! I have shared her many stories with friends, family, and co-workers. I had the great pleasure of seeing Jeanie perform twice . The second time I reminded her of her appearance at the Southern Lady conference when she took out a flask with a nod to the previous nights speaker who was drinking at the podium . It was the funniest thing I had ever seen . We had a good laugh about that . She remembered of course !
    What an inspiration she is !! Working to the end and still with a great sense of humor even during touch times . That is how I want to be as I get older ! She will me much missed ! My sincere condolences to Beaver and his sons .

      It was so funny because the day before everyone was kind of in shock after the speech . Being polite southern ladies no one said a word . So when she came up to the microphone the next night and set up her flask we all lost it! She inspired me to sneak a flask (empty of course ! ) as a joke into my son’s Christian school . When the principal would get a bit long winded I would open my purse and show my friends the flask as a joke! I don’t want to say the name of the speaker but if you PM I’ll tell you .

      Then, I started a game called I love you bigger than...
      I love you bigger than that tall tree, that bus, that firetruck, the sky, the moon, etc.
      Then one day (are you smarter than a 4th grader? Evidently, not me... ), he said,
      I love you bigger than all the ABCs, mom... bc that's ALL the words.
      We will continue to love you both, Jerry and Jeanne, et. al., bigger than the ABCs, bc that's all the words...

    There is only one Jeanne Robertson that will come through your life. She will always be missed. Truly funny, clean fun, who so truly cared about everyone and I am sure brought so much happiness to so many.

      Aorry you're having troubles. You should be able to hear Jeanne with no problem. I have double and triple checked the volume... and confident that it is at the right levels.

      @@jgsmile1331 Yes, ok. That was intentional...because this is the raw footage and I was only going to use excerpts from her talking. If that makes sense.

      I turned on the closed captions and that helped with what I could hear as well. I have some hearing loss as too.

    It’s a shame…. the audio of the interviewer is completely illegible

    • @KevinMcNultyTV
      @KevinMcNultyTV  2 роки тому +1

      Which is why I put the questions on the screen. This is raw footage and was never intended to be a conversational style interview; i.e., my voice was not to be on the final product. In any event, no shame at all...it was all about her.

    Too bad the interviewer did not have the good sense to use a microphone as his comments can often not be heard at all except as a sort of muffled mumble. 2 minutes in and I can't hear half of this.

    • @kevinmcnulty7353
      @kevinmcnulty7353 Рік тому

      I was the interviewer. Your comments were insulting and uncalled for. You really don't deserve a response, but perhaps this response will make you to think twice before laying down rude comments: 1) this interview was not designed for the audience to hear my questions. It's original purpose was not designed as a conversation; 2) After she passed I decided to post on UA-cam. Knowing that my voice was not so easy to hear, I did have enough good sense to post my questions as subtitles in BIG letters. Guess you missed that. 3) Check your hearing or maybe your volume is too low. Although, my voice is in the background, it's actually quite easy to hear if you have your volume up.
