I love you!
Retrocesso - it is perhaps the most common mistake a kizomba learner do trying to dance kizomba these days. And yet it is the most important step in kizomba (it is just a personal opinion), maybe not for some people because everyone (like Urban dancers or fusion...whatever you want to call them) all depends on your approach to the dance. I think whoever is learning kizomba basics should pay more attention to retrocesso technique and practice very often, if they want to learn faster or become better dancers.
@@JoinAngola Myself and some others here have decided to learn on our own because there are no schools here which teach kizomba, we only have urban or fusion teachers. I attribute that to the relative lack of PALOPs vs European / French people in our scene. It's a hard way to learn but we have a small group of leaders/followers that love and prefer kizomba / semba music and dance. Sometime I will make the journey to Angola to learn more.
We understand! That’s one of the reasons why we decided to start our website... we are happy we can be useful to your group 😊 if you have questions, we are always here to help!

Sorry for the delay in answering. To be entirely honest, this was a difficult question for us, as it's not something our teachers focus a lot on, but here is the answer from Crisostomo (the director of the Turma do Basico), about the retrocesso. Please, tell us if this is what you were looking for, so that we can write the same for the other steps you mentioned! we start by putting the left foot back, without turning it, simply back (I mean facing forward), then the right foot, without moving, turns the left at a 45º angle, leading the body in the same direction. finally take the left foot (which was behind) forward, tilted slightly to the left. When we make the pivot (the 45º turn) be careful not to turn the right foot together.
Amigo, Whole World start mens step with left legs, only Angolans start with right?! Why is that? I think this is best place to learn Kizomba on YT but someone needs to help with camera and production
I love you!

Can you tell about the position of the feet when you make steps, turns, retrocesso, the left toe is straight and the right one is diagonal?
We're working on the answer to this, will write more soon!
