Bell’s palsy is life changing. I too have it and 14 months later one side of my face is still partially paralyzed. Lots of self esteem issues involved but with God, I learn to take it one day at a time.

Also, watch your type of food (oil, especially because of cholesterol) and exercise more often. It mostly happens to people who have signs of high BP.

I had this in Jss 2/3. Which hospital in Lagos did my mom not take me to. LONG STORY SHORT … CHEWING GUM IS YOUR FRIEND. This is because chewing gum helps with rebuilding the nerves in and around your face. Years later I found the diagnosis.
This a physiotherapy. Reminding the brain what it's used to do. Simple but most effective.

But Bell palsy is peripheral facial nerve neuropathy not brain. If chidi had both leg and hand affected, then i query the diagnosis. Is it transient ischaemic attack? Well, in medicine don't say never.

@@okonkwoifunanya9029 few weeks of facial massages from a physiotherapist, using this particular eye drop for my eye I can't remember the name, using tape to close my eye when I want to sleep, and some drugs to boost my facial muscles

OMG I can totally relate. I just recovered from Bell's Palsy and it was the worst thing that ever happened to me. It is so frustrating not to have control of your body, the FEAR!!!! I had bell's palsy in 2013. It cannot be cured but you can only manage it for life. Manage your stress and anxieties. Have good sleep and don't overthink

The most anoying part of this bell's palsy is the teary eye. The eye on the affected area keeps leaking with tears, tsuip.

The cause is known...constricted blood vessels..from lifestyle,what we eat e.t.c....poor blood flow results...cells become affected. and many things can happen including bells palsy, stroke e.t.c.
I ate well, was thin, exercised daily, had no cholesterol, blood sugar or bp issues. My mother died that month and I was abroad. The stress was insane. Stress causes it too.

Watching this brings tears out of my eyes because this is exactly what I’m going through right now, it all started last 2 weeks some days after the naming for my first child, I’m just a 31 year old newly married guy and my wife is just 23. I started experiencing a serious tingling pain in one side of my head and I thought it was a headache, after 2 days the whole half of my face was completely paralyzed, I couldn’t eat, move my face, talk or even brush my teeth, the doctor told me my brain was damaged and there’s no hope but my mom rebuked him, we’ve been trying different medications, doing some tests and praying to God for miracle. Please help a brother with info if you know anything that works 😢. This is the 3rd week and I wake up every day scared
