I'd like to say thank you for this video it was exactly what I was looking for. I recently modded the new SSK033 and this video helped a lot especially with the new parts. Much appreciated!
Thank you. Been a fan of your mods for a long while. Bought an SSK003 last year. Thanks to you, I decided to have a go at Batman GMT. Perfectly beautiful. But I still want one yours.
I recently did this mod before watching your video. Couldnt agree more about the insert, the DLW insert is perfectly coloured as a pepsi. The namoki pepsi is very orange and only looks red-ish in certain lights. Had to go rebuy the DLW one, but at least now I have both!
I'm about to buy one, which one should I go for DLW or Namoki And if I go with DLW do I need to buy different rotating bezel or will it fit the original one?
If you mean bezel insert, get the DLW one, its much better than Namoki's. But everything else I got from Namoki is spot on. I think if you want this pepsi insert, as said in the video, you need the new rotating bezel and a sapphire insert from Namoki (although i didn't try without them, it could still fit!). Both pretty cheap and easy to install anyway :).@@ATopC.
I modded my SSK003 to a Batman look using the Namoki parts including a doubled domed blue AR crystal. Great parts and service from Namoki and my watch looks awesome.
Crystal has to be replaced as the bezel insert is sloping - this is mentioned in the video also, there is no way to make this currently with a cyclops crystal
Great video very informative. Unfortunately, I watched all the way to the end because the single most important thing I wanted to see was how to attach the bezel ring but when it came to that part of the video, it was edited out so I was never able to see how the bezel ring was properly attached. 😢
The bezel itself is fitted at around 32mins - the insert yes I didn’t show but it’s super easy, just attach the double sided tape ring you get with the bezel insert to the bezel first; then peel the top and put the bezel insert on, it doesn’t matter what position in this type of bezel as there’s no clicks. I show it on my SSK003 Lumed Pepsi bezel video tutorial too
This is an outstanding video. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I wonder what this mod would look like on the SSKOO3? If the blues matched, it would be awesome. But if the blues clashed, it would be horrible.
Awesome video mate! You have inspired me to take on this mod with my SSK001. The only part I am nervous about is the crystal swap. Hopefully my press will work fine. I was hoping you were going to show the how you attached the bezel insert, but you didn't show that part. Did you use only one double sided tape provided or did you use more that one?
Depending on the insert you can use just one or two layers of the tape provided with the bezel/insert, more recently I’ve used two layers to reduce the taller crystal a bit with this bezel
