He answered the question and gave reasoning for why the search happened. It's not like Trump is known to follow the rules and cooperate. When it involves serious matters, that may lead to investigations and these interventions.

A search warrant could have been served by a couple of agents. This display of overwhelming, intimidating force has become a clear pattern of FBI misconduct.
When classified documents are stored in a public bathroom and national archives asked for them back .. why wouldn't the FBI come in and take them .. He did answer the question. His answer was that he assumes it was the team who was investigating as a whole in conjunction with the prosecutors. After that he pointed out that all of this was released publicly as well as the multiple attempts to get the documents handed over. If you look over those documents that were released about the attempts to get the material you'll also find that the President's Men swore under oath that there were no materials at Mar-A-Lago which obviously was found to be a lie

The biggest problems with that search and whether it was political, are two things. First, photos of evidence were readily available on new media immediately. This includes photos of "confidential" information covers splayed out over the floor. I was a federal agent, we took photos of evidence showing the location found, we didn't spread it out over the floor and leak it to the news media. Second, the agent who completed the inventory of items seized repeatedly called these items secret, top secret, etc... He had no way of knowing if they were still classified as such and if he were neutral would have at least said they were marked as such. I would love to be the lawyer cross examining him and others involved in this search.

A search warrant for a former president of the United States is not conducted without the express review and approval of the Director of the FBI. Wray was briefed many times on this subject and for him to sit there and try to "find his words" as to who approved the raid is total BS.
