She's not stupid. You can't always dismiss the bad actions of people just because they're poor and uneducated. That's the problem with the world there's no accountability for poor choices people like you just push the narrative of... "Poor little peasants! Is going to psychological problem that she is passing onto her son , he’s got no chance in life he’s going to be bullied beyond belief and wonder who he really is and also have no respect for his parents when he’s older he could even slip into drug or alcohol abuse ..... I would not have helped this woman with anything at all maybe got the kid some milk and a few sets of boys clothes and that would have been that !

Anne Corey it's better than nothing. In India a lot of homeless are leaving in different areas of the city, they have no sanitation, they beg to survive. children are very pitiful some without clothes.
Oh my goodness, they have to make each bag 2.2 lbs for .19 cent! This makes me so sad. It also helps me appreciate life and be grateful. They work HARD for pennies! They are very lucky to have you giving back to the community. All they want is food and to educate their children. My God! My God.
Have you notice the rice cooker they have on the shelf in the background? How many bags did they process to buy one of those rice cooker? And the yellow litter that creates since they don't believe in cleaning after themselves. I don't see any yellow litter other than the day the couple was working. So something is not adding up to this story line!!
i do feel bad for these people because that is no life to live but i do think that karen has a baby boy and puts girl clothing on him and has him thinking and saying hes a girl i just dont find that right but who am i he not my child

If Ruby has a good time management program, no problem and she's quite aware of the importance of education first. I'm positive there's no need for concern. Helping the team in her spare time time is much better than doing nothing. This helping the team will boost her self confidence and hopefully one day Ruby, her sisters and brother will become good humanitarians like the Doners, Sir Mark and Madam Rhea. May this program grow from strength to strength 🙏❤️

Through hard work Ate Karen can carve out a living despite limited education. She may have completed elementary school only but that's enough to have a business such as this snack stand. Hopefully the issue regarding dressing her son as a girl will get resolved when he starts going to school.

But these people in this video have their dwelling place full of trash everywhere. This is Apples and Oranges. The $12.00 is not profit.
Product was used/sold. She still has to restock the inventory. Sari sari stores are not the answer because the profit is so low (You are competing against other sari sari stores and the market where you bought your product in bulk. She is adding value by cooking the food and prepping the drink but can only add a few pisos to the final price to the customer from what she bought (or will buy after the stock runs down)
The profit margin for a Sari sari store is very low. It is long hours and work. Most stores fail.
That all said I don't have an alternative to the Sari sari store unless perhaps Sheena’s group works with the various employment agencies in Manila. There seems to be quite a few.
How many specialize in housekeeping or manual labor I do not know.
Well what the hell else can they do? They make more money now and that's what matters. And Mark and his team can't give jobs to every person they help, that'd just be absurd!
@@christinamoreno7803 As I said before there are multiple Employment agencies in Manila they can contact(google it). If they contact the agency (who has listings of jobs) they may be able to get something going. It's only absurd if you don't consider this as an option.
Another thing, Christina have you thought what happens to the person who is running the Sari sari store that the family has been buying from in the past? What happens to her/his Sari sari store? Does the older Sari sari store lose some or all of its customer base?
Do they get run out of business? Can the neighborhood support one let alone two?
The life of a Sari sari store is hard and has a high degree of failure. Look up the 2018 Nielsen research report on Sari sari stores. Or google the many articles on Sari sari stores.

They are in a bad location where their customer base has little disposable income.

I wish there was a way to help them directly as a part of a “Environmental” beach clean up program that Social Media influencers could sponsor? As we all know, the multiple hands in many or the Charities does not seem to make a dent and improve outcomes. The MAIN objective would be provide money to the poor, build a scholarship program and clean the beaches. We know that children need to learn how to care for Mother Earth 🌏

The Government should give these poor shanty towns incentive (monetary) to clean up (pick up garbage) their community. Poor does not mean an excuse to throw garbage on the ground. The more community clean up their neighborhood, the more you'll feel pride no matter the economic situation.

This family isn't special, this happens all over the world and in the Phillipines. There are more families with more children that have less money and food to spare than this family.

Why doesn't their government help them ? It's the government's duty to provide the people proper food, shelters and education.
