One of my first builds in my childhood. Build this kit in the early 70th 4or 5 times for my Brit. 8.Army in Africa and as captured by the German Africa Corps. I have loved these Airfix Kits. The Matador with the 5,5 in Gun, the Bren carrier with the AT-Gun, the Halftrack with the 88mm AA Gun, the Sdkfz.222 ans so on... :-)
Yes, it is good that Airfix has decided to re-issue these golden oldies in the 'Vintage Classics' range. It gives me a chance to build them now, as I never did when they first came out.. :)
Thank you... I didn't like that observers hatch to just be open and empty and as luck had it, that figure was in 1/76 scale and a perfect little addition for some extra interest. It should hopefully work out nicely for the diorama I have planned as well.. :)
Thanks.. I was surprised I could not find any WWII footage of the Quad and gun, but nothing at all on UA-cam.. only modern stuff! I had a lot of video footage from a military show that I visited a few years ago, but sadly I lost it all so could not use it in this video..
A very nice set from Airfix. Very well executed by you, to become this nice model in the small scale. Great work with this older kit, Rob. Have a nice weekend. Greetings, Joachim
Thank you.. I quite like these old kit, even though they're not always as detailed as newer kits! But it is good fun building them and it is great that they are still around, some 50 odd years after they first came out.. :) I hope to make a little diorama for this later on, when I have built some other vehicles.. :)
Hmm, everyone has their own style and needs. I always say, if you didn't have fun, you did it wrong. But you don't appear interested in cleaning up the parts at all. Seam lines aplenty. I'm only guessing it is not a priority. Perhaps it is for tabletop wargaming. But I'm used to those guys being fussier too. I have this kit. I think you could have done considerably better. So I'm left to wonder why you didn't.
Because I built it the way I am happy to build it,.. I never build for competitions, and to be honest I didn't even notice the seam lines.. its just one bad join along the engine that annoys me, but I can fix that at a later date.. Now I'm going to check out your channel, I'm really excited about seeing some perfect, flawless models.. can't wait!! :) Oh well.. as I thought! No content.. it is always easy to criticize the work of others, when you don't have to worry about getting critique back.. ;)
I like to think these old kits fulfill their destiny in Rob's talented hands.
Well, a destiny of sorts, I guess... :) :)

Lovely quad and gun!
Thank you kindly, Sir.. :)
Great job on this vintage kit. I like the addition of the extra figure.

Another older kit has come to life. Great job done on this one Rob. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Yet another great video & build! 👍
I appreciated the reference photo, as i have never seen that one before. Good way to start the weekend. ✌

Thais a very nice little classic Quand and 25 pounder build Rob. Neat and straight forward.
Thank you.. I try and keep it simple!! ;) But I plan to make a little diorama setting, once I have built some more vehicles to go with it.. :)

I`ve driven a Morris Minor a couple times ;-)
This and the Churchill were the first kits that I ever built!
Did any lad NOT have this when they were young?
Yes, me... but 50 odd years isn't too much of a wait.... is it??;)
I still have mine built in 1964 or thereabouts.
Oh.. an original issue.. :) :) I am just pleased I have a chance to build them now, better late than never.. :)
A really nice one, the clear parts are made by you?
Thank you... and yes, I used Clearfix, it is not perfect but it will do. Better than not having any at all.. :) :)
could you put some voice over on it (positive critique)
I sound like Donald Duck when I talk, otherwise I would do voice narrating all the time.. 😳
