- We Spent Two Nights in a Village in the AMAZON RAINFOREST!
Part 1 Leticia Colombia Amazon River
In this video we arrive in the Amazon Rainforest by plane and head straight out onto a boat to spend 2 nights sleeping in a tiny village along the Amazon River!
This two part series shows what it’s like to spend a few days in the Amazon exploring all the wildlife and getting out on the river without spending a small fortune on a guided tour package.
We booked everything ourselves including flights, accommodation, boat transportation and river activities. It wasn’t all plain sailing as our first tour guide wasn’t really a tour guide, he was a boat driver (who happened to be great a catching piranha!) so we didn’t really get to learn very much on our first day, but we did still get to see lots of River Dolphins, Piranha and even swam in the Amazon … for about 20 seconds!

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
Would you ever visit the Amazon this way or do you prefer a pre arranged tour?
We’ll give a full cost break down of our whole trip to the Amazon in part 2 next week!
Happy travels!
Oh no, lost luggage. 😮
Trip looked great!
Lots of river dolphins - how lovely.
Not sure about jumping in with Piranas!?! 😮 exhilarating I’m sure!!😂 beautiful surroundings.
Look forward to seeing more!
We were pretty surprised when he only moved the boat back about 30 metres from where the piranha were! 😅
16:27 wow, such a gorgeous pis in the sunset, next time don't get afraid of piranhas in the Amazon, watch the electric eel,
Haha we were worried about the Piranha, Electric Eel, Candiru…& many other things 😅
Hey guys! I’m from Brazil living in Italy. I just found you on UA-cam, loved the shine in your eyes! It looks you will live your honeymoon forever! That’s amazing!
Thank you so much!! We only just saw your comment, an extended honeymoon is definitely a lot of fun. We loved visiting Brazil and love Italy so much we even got married there! Happy European summertime, hope you enjoy some lovely Italian sunshine!
Oh no, it’s never good not having your baggage but right before a jungle adventure! 🙈
The timing was crazy 🤪 didn’t stop us having an amazing time though!
Ahh I would have been so nervous to jump in the river 😮😆🫣
We were terrified but then figured we probably won’t get another chance to say we swam in the Amazon! 😅
so nice the Amazonas, has something special right like the Nile? I went to Colombia but no there, so good for this video i wondered about this place. Greetings from Buenos Aires.
It’s a very special place for sure, so nice to see a part of the world that still belongs to nature. We’ll share more of this area in the next video, it gets even better! BA is also a very special and cool place 😎
Amazing video series. How do you find / contact these tours? I'm looking online and of course the online prices show hundreds and hundreds of dollars
Thank you. Yes it’s always a lot more if you book it as a tour online for these things. We did it ourselves, just bought flights to Leticia and then booked our boat in person at the ticket counter to PN then paid cash to tour guides that are there to take us out to the places we wanted to see. That way we got to see the things we wanted to and not pay a fortune.
@@TideKnotTravellers good info thanks 🙏
How much money does a trip like this cost?
We did this ourselves so we didn’t pay a tour company. We just booked flights to Leticia and then booked to stay the night there and then booked a boat into PN from Leticia, then paid for everything we wanted to do as we went along. We detailed the exact entire costs at the end of our two days in part 2 of our Amazon videos, you can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/YC4ugZ1Mxa0/v-deo.htmlsi=kTLvaufxlQvznwVc
