  • Why You NEED to Put PARAGUAY On Your Travel List! SOUTH AMERICAS HIDDEN GEM Full of Waterfalls!
In this video, we leave Paraguays capital city and head out to explore the natural side of Paraguay. We hire a car and make our way over to Ybycui in search of fresh air, hikes and waterfalls!
Once again Paraguay was full of surprises for us but in a very different way to Asuncion. Ybycui National Park was so beautiful and peaceful and once again the local people we met along the way were so warm and friendly. Paraguay is definitely one of South Americas hidden gems and we think it is very underrated.
If you love peace and quiet with lovely nature, great food options and interesting old buildings then Paraguay needs to be on your list, it’s not crowded or touristy like so many other places in this world!

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

    Thanks so much for watching!
Our time in Paraguay was short but sweet, we definitely want to come back one day, maybe with a tour guide as it was difficult to figure everything out, but we loved what we saw!
Let us know your thoughts below, would you visit Paraguay? We think it’s a great place for people seeking a peaceful, low stress country with friendly people!
    Happy Travels, TKT xx

It’s awesome how friendly the locals and park guards were throughout your trip! You’re right; that relaxed vibe really makes exploring special. What was the most unexpected thing you discovered while hiking around IUI?

Hello. I'm from Worcestershire. My life story has caused me to be fluent in Brazilian Portuguese ( I learned it when I was doing a gap year when I was 22 after varsity, I have a Paulista accent
And much much later... when I was 54
I became fluent in Spanish by living in Córdoba Argentina for 6 months and have many friends there to this day!
I don't speak Guaraní, the Paraguayan indigenous language. I understand that Paraguayans, amongst themselves speak a creole mixture of Spanish & Guaraní which may make things even more challenging for your travels!
Anyhow If I can help in anyway with language probs you may encounter on your south American travels, you have only to contact me. I'm retired now, currently living in the UK but considering relocating to Arg,Pgy, Ugy, BR for the UK winter part of the year at least!
Currently it's 4°C in Dorset, sleeting down!
    I'm guessing it'll be 40°C where you are😅😅
All the best to you both and...
    Aprovecha 🎉 ( enjoy!)

That’s very kind of you thank you. Your plan to move to one of those places during UK winters is definitely a smart one! They’re all so beautiful.

The capital of Paraguay (Asunción) is not touristy. On the other hand, its cities in the interior yes, these places are good, at least that's what I think as Paraguayan or capable, I only like the peace that there is in those very quiet places, all compared to the capital that is full of noise

We definitely thought the capital would be a little more touristy than it was. It was quite a surprise to us for sure.

You could swim there, especially when few or no people are around. People do it all the time. The sign just said not to swim without a life jacket (to be politically correct) but...

Yes, we noticed the life jacket part after filming on our way back but either way it was getting later in the day and cold. We wondered if places would be busier in a different season?

Thank you, I realised that afterwards when we walked back, I read the sign again but we don’t even own a swimming vest let alone travel with one 😅
