what about palm rejection when writing with the stylus
Using the device. I have not had any issues with additional gestures when using the stylus.
It's alot like Lenovo Chromebook Duet (10.1") 2 in 1 but what are the specs of Fire max 11?
2 a78 cores and 6 a55 cores both clocked at 2.2ghz 4gb of ram 64 or 128gb storage
Congrats for the video. The agenda's template is great! I'd like to know if Samsung S23 Spen is compatible to Fire Max 11.
Exactly was I was looking for. Thanks in advance ❤
great to hear.
I dunno for about the same price you can get a brand new Ipad 9 (last years model) for $249.00. I'm not an apple fan but their tablets destroy the fire and most other android tablets.
Great deal, get a Logitech crayon for 50 bucks or an apple pencil for ~90.
If you have an iphone and already lightning cables laying around even better.
In Germany Fire 11 with pen is 205€ (prime day) , Galaxy s6 lite 260€, iPad 9 310€, so a real stepup.
In the future I'd leave out the bits about the tire. It's completely irrelevant and I almost clicked off the video because of it.
Thanks for your comment, however having content that includes me and my life in the script is important part of getting to know who I am. If you simply want to watch the video to learn about the device then I really don’t see the viewer as someone that would be a good subscriber. I am looking for people whom are equally invested in me as they are the review.
it has no "kindle" in the name!
Noted. :)
Thank you so much for being so quick to do the review. I was just about to buy the Kindle Scribe and had resigned myself to work around to get my notes over to One Note, not supported by Kindle Scribe, with this review, I will buy this Kindle Fire instead. I have an old Microsoft Surface Pro 6, I was using for OneNote and the big problem there is the Kindle App is not great on the Surface. Finally I can pull both Kindle and OneNote together and the other Kindle Fire entertainment features into one device. Thank you for being so timely in your review.
That is truly great to hear. Happy to provide some information that makes for a meaningful purchase. Are you using a planner with your onenote application?
@@bodendorfer I am using my own planing template but I am impressed with the suite of templates you offer and plan to purchase the 2024 versión soon.
Do you need the office 365 subscription or can you download the onenote app separately?
No you do not. You can download the OneNote App as a free app in the play store and then you can set up a personal account for free. No limitations.
I can’t find the answer to this from Amazon yet: do you know whether the office apps require a separate subscription from my existing Microsoft 365 family subscription. Looks like it’s roughly $80 per year from Amazon. But if I can leverage my existing subscription this looks like an interesting way to carry something that works with OneNote to places I don’t want to risk my Surface or iPad.
Steve, if you already have a subscription, you will be able to download the apps and sign in. Using your account email, you should be all set.
I have been using the Fire Max 11 bundle for about two weeks. It is doing exactly what I needed - I call it my planner/OneNote/note taking machine. Your review covers all the key things: runs office 365 including OneNote and OneDrive, has good digital pen input, a useable keyboard, supports split screen, and has a Zoom app. It is not a Surface replacement, but for those uses it handles all it needs to. It is rugged enough to get thrown into a laptop bag or just a sleeve and get carried almost anywhere. And I’m not worried about breaking a $1,500 machine. It’s under $400 all-in. For $30 you can get 2 year accident protection. And, 2-day delivery with Prime. It’s not going to be where I store anything important as sole-source so I feel like I am at most 48-hours away from a replacement in a disaster. The shortcomings of no audio jack, limited App Store, lack of peripheral connections are not negatives for my use. Thanks for bringing attention to this tablet!
It has no VPN in the settings. So you can't Remote into some place like a school or workplace.
(not talking about a VPN App, which is something different.) First Tablet (or phone) I've seen, with no mention or listing for VPN, anywhere in the settings.
How do I copy and past within an email app? Selecting e.g., double clicking does not select the word and I can't even get to CTRL+C to copy and then paste. Thank you for this video. It was helpful!
My Amazon Fire Max 11 does offer OneNote, but the features like palm rejection and lassoing the writing to become font does not work. Do I need to unlock a certain feature?
The palm rejection should work as that is part of the device. As for the lasso to type you will need to sync your notes over to your desktop to complete that option.
Does the kindle scribe premium pen work with the Fire 11? Thanks.
Does this tablet have palm rejection?
yes it does
do these Stylus Pen scratch the screen. If no,why not.
Trying to figure out how to dictate on MS Word on the Tablet. Can do it on my home computer but stumped with the tablet. Anyone know? Thanks. Edit: Can we dictate on one note?
Super helpful review. Made me pull the trigger on a purchase after researching a tablet that was affordable and allowed me to take written notes and sync with my OneNote work account. Butttt... Come to find out, my company uses Microsoft Intune to manage security and there isn't an Intune profile they can set for this Fire OS. Now I'm back to square one 😔
Well I am happy to hear the video helped you out. Not so happy to hear that it doesn't support your businesses IT security.
Any plans for a follow up video after 5 months? I bought it after watching your video but so far im not so happy with note taking experience using OneNote.
May I ask what you are not happy with. That might help me with determining what content would be best.
Just to clarify, does the note sync work with samsung notes? What about google docs? These are rhe two note apps i use mostly. I also have microsoft 365
I don't believe you can install Samsung Notes on the device. You can use google docs, but that has now handwritten functions.
Great review! I am trying one out and I can't find the Ink to Text button on OneNote. I can lasso my handwriting and it turns grey, but I don't know how to convert it.
That feature is available on the desktop version of OneNote and on some mobile apps. It doesn't work at this time on the Fire.
Just come across you and just thought I’d ask a quick question. I’d like to have a calendar that my partner and our adult kids can all have access to so that we can all keep up to date about where we are and weekend plans as we live in different places and we support each other looking after a number of animals. What’s the easiest digital planner that we could use that can deal with us being on different platforms?
So if you are looking for a paperlike planner that you can handwrite in the planner. You will want to use onenote, as it will sync across all devices. You can share the notebook across accounts as well, so members can add and edit the calendar as needed. Here is a link to our onenote planners: bit.ly/3H0n6j5
I'm having a heck of a time getting My one note to look the same. It looks completely different from yours and it looks completely different from my desktop version to this version I don't have a lot of pin options. It's not the same at all. I don't even have the same notebooks I'm using the same login and everything.
feel free to email me some screen shots... support@brandenbodendorfer.com
I’ve been wanting to mow how it works with Zoom and how it handles productivity apps. Thank you!
For a tablet, it would work how you expected it. The device has a good capabilities. Now for apps that render video or use high processing power, it is probably not going to perform like the PRO line of iPads.
Hi. Quick question. Are you suspending your hand in the air or is the palm of your hand resting on the screen as you write/draw?
In most every case my palm is always on the screen as I am writing. And to confirm that is the case with this device as well. The palm rejection works well.
This or the Lenovo tab p11 2nd gen?
Would this work for drawing? Like d&d maps
I am confident you can use the device for drawing. However, I am not so sure what D&D Maps are. I wouldn't consider it a scientific drawing device if that helps.
Thanks for this video. How much do U pay for the app that you’re using?
the planner for the personal edition is $29. You can find it at www.key2successplanner.com
I’ve been using OneNote for a long while now and it has been able to change the hand written note into text. That’s not new. But, I do like your OneNote set-up that you use. Is that template style one that you’ve designed and if so - how much $$$ to snag that template style?
It is something we designed. You can find it on our website at Key2Successplanner.com The personal edition is $29. We have 4 editions, the other editions offer business, sales, management and professional development tools. we also offer one on one training. So there is a lot of options.
@@bodendorfer Yeah loved the video. I dont need a top of the range tablet, I've been there and done that since the first ipad. I'm an IT Solution Architect and I also liked your one note template. I'll be buyng the Amazon Fire bundle, with keboard and stylus and office 365 and loading Play Store. I'll happily pay for that template. Will make my job so much easier. Well done.
Thank you for your video. Can you suggest a good note taking app for school? Thanks!
If you are looking at the Amazon fire as the device. I personally like OneNote. This will allow you to see your notes across other devices such as your laptop and mobile device.
Thinking about the 10 or 11 , I just got into medical school and I need one badly
For the price point difference I would suggest the 11.
@@bodendorfer yea. But I would need the keyboard also . I have just enough for the 11 itself . You think I should still get the 11 and just save up for the keyboard later . Because I have to be online everyday for school
Hi this device is now on sale for $149. The bundle is $176.
Hi. What's the planner you are using. Thank you
I am using the key2success planner. You can learn more at www.key2successplanner.com
Do you recommend the basic or premium stylus?
Excellent video, well done.
If you are using this for a primary note-taking device, premium is recommended.
The Kindle Scribe is the one with the basic/premium pen options. The Fire Max 11 and Fire HD 10 (2023) only have one option.
What is the price of it where can you find at other than Amazon
Its am amazon product, which is sold just through amazon. I am not sure if there is any partnering retailers. But the price point is about $300 for the configuration you see in the video.
Epic!!!!!
Do you think the base 64 GB model is sufficient? Does OneNote use with the stylus produce any noticeable lag? Great review and video. I'm going to buy a bundle, I'm torn on onboard storage a bit. Leaning toward 64GB productivity though.
Well you never go run with more storage. It’s like building a shed. Never anyone say I wish I had a smaller shed. However the fact that you have an expandable slot of up to 1TB. For me, as a note taking device that I’ll primarily use for streaming media, browsing the web, checking emails and note taking. It’s just fine. As for OneNote. I good enough that I would be happy to recommend it.
Great video as always
Thanks!!
Thanks for an awesome video. Any opinion on how this fire max compares to rhe samsung s7+ and in specific stylus function at the proce points/100-200$ difference?.yes ive watched others' reviews and asking you to also opine.
I personally think the newer amazon fire is going to provide you a better experience. The tech is newer by a few years and you are going to have a few more years of support with the operating system. I would say though that getting a Tab S8 would probably be the next step up that I would go.
@@bodendorfer I'm leaning heavy towards the fire 11 bundle and installing play store via APK. It seems 128 and ad free are the best choice also for the few bucks, 50$.... Btw the Samsung offers cell connection but I can't see the massive upside of this.....
Notice how he is writing in landscape instead of the regular Portrait where PALM REJECTION comes into action.
This might be a paid review. Beware !!
Really?... Does palm rejection ever change between landscape and portrait? I have never noticed a difference. And no this is not a sponsored reviewed.
A great review based around One Note.
You have forgotten to mention all the other standard apps that the useless os on this device does not support.
Yet another flawed device from Amazon. Do not buy it!
It's Android 11 with an Amazon skin, and easy to put the Google Play store and custom skins on. For a budget device it is hard to beat.
@@mgratk I would agree with you.
Can you tell me how to use show mode and set it as a camera?
I was not aware this is a feature. Sorry I can't have an answer for you.
