@@livinglife8333Last year I planted mine in a 5 gal bucket. I drilled a lot of drainage holes in the bottom and a few on the sides. They were nice potatoes. My previous attempt had failed because to much moisture.
I've never dug potatoes...that was like an Easter egg hunt 😂 All different colors and sizes! Hope yall and the Whippoorwill Holler community have a great weekend and God bless you all!
I learn so much from the two of you about the garden produce, and it takes me back to childhood days with my parents having us help in the small garden plots they would grow where ever we lived. I so miss those days and wish I could have a garden with plenty of sun. Fresh veggies are the best and you live a blessed life. I love the inside of your home, the way you make use of all the pieces of furniture that you added to make your kitchen so functional and always have things in easy reach. This is one of the joys of my week, watching your channel.
Love learning things from your videos. I was too young to learn how to garden from my relatives before they passed away. Thank you for your time you and Mr Brown share with us. You're such a blessing.
I grow mine in cardboard boxes, since it's just me and prevents gophers eating on them. At the end of the season I just turn the box over and there they are.
My dad grew up poor on a farm during the Depression. On their property, they had a big root cellar that you could stand in. Inside, they had built wooden frames to hold the potatoes that had been dug. They would throw lime on them, just as Mr Brown recommended. They would keep for a long time! I’m so glad you didn’t run into any snakes while you were digging! ❤-Brenda
I remember getting potatoes up in a number 10 tub, after a long day at school. My daddy would be done dug them the evening before. After school, we knew what our job was.🙏❤️🙂
My great uncle made big screens, 3 high, screen door size, made a big shelf. Heavy wire. He had it outside under his covered porch. He did not wash them either. He also stored his onions that way. He said it kept them fresher with the air flow. He passed back in 89.
😊I'm so glad Pa got some potatoes,it's disappointing to get nothing for hard work. I think y'all will be fine this winter. We got some green tomatoes now, just had some fried with Sloppy joe's and watermelon, yummy. Y'all have a wonderful week, love ya both!!🥰🎇🎆🎉Happy Fourth!!!
I always love your videos and learning the old ways. I’m 63 and my parents grew up farming then moved to the “cities” as young adults. My adults kids and I wish we grew up on the farm. Going back to the country is their goal (and mine, but getting a bit too old, maybe).❤
Nice crop, Mr. Brown. Miss, Lori, I’d like to see your hash browns, I have some buckets and tubs of potatoes coming so I need to make up some potato recipes. 👍👍
Good job Mr. Brown, I couldn’t get down on my knees like that for nothing and do that. You stay busy so that keeps you limber. God Bless you and Miss Lori. ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Been a while! Thanks for the episode. Thanks Arkansas! 🔴⚪🔵 "Have I done and have I dared; everything to be prepared.", OK, "And may the great Masters of all Good Scouts be with you until we meet again." Good night Scouts! Always loved digging up potatoes! And rhe excitement of seeing how Many would be there. Then scrubbing up and cookingthe smallest ones up in water. And eating with just butter, salt& pepper The best ever.
Grammy & Grampy had a potato/onion room in the basement. She called it the potato cellar, I called it the spider room. Such a creepy place. But if Grammy asked you to go fetch potatoes, you better get on it or get the paddle.
I am so appreciative of this video. I am growing sweet potatoes and potatoes for the first time this year using Mr Brown's method. Now I know how to store them properly. Looking forward to seeing what the harvest will be!
Gave up growing potatoes because there is just me. Couldn’t eat them all before they went bad or sprouted. Will try what you suggest. Thank you for sharing.
I love homegrown spuds, they taste So much better than store bought and you all have a Beautiful harvest, Miss Lori and Mr. Brown! God Bless You Both Always and I pray that you have a Very Blessed and Happy Independence Day! ✝️❤️🤗
Oh my goodness, my grandparents were farmers, and I would do anything to live on a farm, I'm fascinated by it. It I love the history of it, and I'm not afraid of hard work!!!, I had a customer that used to bring me potatoes from his garden, and I love the smell of the fresh soil dirt. Dirt. I never knew the work that went into it when it came to finding them picking them digging them up. I truly appreciate Farmers always have. I miss my grandparents😢😞🤗🤗💜🩷☺️🥔
Your potato crop is beautiful. I've never had luck with potatoes. Last year I tried container gardening in 5 gal. buckets but they didn't produce. Love to watch what works good for you. Hugs!
Great video; thanks for sharing! We get good potato harvests in Alberta, Canada, if they get lots of moisture early in spring. Mine won’t be ready for another month or later. Blessings to everyone 🤗🇨🇦
I don't have the space go grow potatoes, but enjoy watching the harvest. It's like searching for buried treasures. Potatoes are so versatile and delicious and as I watch this video, I'm thinking about making delicious potato pancakes with sour cream! Wonderful video.

Nice potatoes. I’m just getting mine in. My tomatoes and peppers are blooming. My garden is in boxes and pots but I’m thankful for what I have got.
Amen, I’ve got my stuff in buckets. Not sure how the potatoes will do but it was worth a shot.
@@livinglife8333 I have just planted a few more potatoes in a bucket. We’ll see together how they do. 😂
