I would like freestyle more if their rules weren't so bad. A tie is a win? A point scored when the wrestlers are fresh shouldn't be worth less than when they're tired.

Unless it's Suriano, Desanto or Lee, Flo doesn't care. Only those three have any value to Flo.
Flo loves Suriano but I don’t think most people had Zane winning this bracket and virtually every other bracket played out as expected. Just because you’re the 1 seed doesn’t mean you’re the favorite, 184lbs at this year’s NCAAs is a prime example. Personally though, I was most surprised by Kennedy Blades beating Adeline Gray
@@lilcholesterol7744Everyone going in thought 57K was a 4 horse field ..Pat Glory while great in folk has very little freestyle experience ..and didn't think he could beat Suriano ..Spencer Lee is done , sad to say ..there is no amount of rest ,or anything the medical profession can do which can help now ..No way his knees were gonna hold up for 4 matches in 1 day... I really think if you look back on it ,,Spencer deciding to wrestle that State Finals match in High School his senior year ,was his undoing , If he had sat that out the damage was small and fixable , But the aggravation and damage done by wrestling that match was extensive and he has never really been 100% since ..So 57K was gonna come down to Zane and Nick [ though I thought Glory might take out Zane] anyhow
your right it was a surprise Zane beating Nick; as the last 2 times they wrestled ....Suriano tech falled Richards 10-0 and 12-0 at the 2019 Bill Farrell and 2019 US open ....
But for me biggest surprise was Aaron Brooks taking out Mark Hall.and Zahid ...and to much lesser extent Mikey Mach. teching Moore

So does that mean Nick doesn’t have a shot to make the team? I get kind of confused with these tournaments. I saw lee is facing Yianni at final X. Isn’t there a team trial before final X?
I think winners of US Open will face returning world medalists at Final X or face winners of world team trials at Final X for weight classes with no returning medalists.
Correct, Suriano cannot make the world team now. Its between Gilman and Richards.
When you medal at worlds you have are in final x, the US open decides who your opponent is. If we don’t have a medalist at that weight class like at 61kg and 125kg the winner of the US open is in final x and you have the world team trials to decide who is their opponent.
Great match but I thoroughly disagree with the “by criteria” decisions. Points win matches.

Idk I thought 100% Nick had 2 pts on his last takedown they gave 1 cause the ref was terrible I think suriano got screwed on this one for sure! One match to decide at this level doesn’t give the correct results

It wasn't a takedown and there weren't any major ref issues in this match, just sounds like we have a bunch of little boys posting here who are triggered by a female ref.

The people complaining about the ref seem to just not understand freestyle rules, those same people complaining were the same people who didn’t know there were only two periods in freestyle and thought Nick suriano’s last point should have been a takedown. She did a find job, I think putting suriano on the shot clock was premature but she gave suriano 2 points on the step out with the step out point and a caution and 1 when Zane saying Zane didn’t try and stop the step out which I disagree with. Other then those two things she did fine. It didn’t change the outcome in the end.

Seems this match could have turned out differently with a different ref perhaps. That to me, as close as it was, is the sign of not the best officiating. The undercut Richards was using became a stalling tactic. He relied on it to only keep Suriano away, no offense to it as the match progressed. The ref also blew the whistle on two occasions just as wrestling started to develop. A poor read on the flow of such a close match. Not to take anything away from Richards win, this was very close, he won the chess match that the bout became. The next meeting will be one to see.
