One of the rare moments where Rusty is the most mature person in the room - his moments of epiphany are so few and far between, but something to savor!
@@VvVLuffyM2 On *rare* occasions, Rusty is the adult in the room - we're talking about a character with substance abuse issues (at this point, there might not be a pill he hasn't popped), lingering paternal conflict problems that no therapist has been able to tackle successfully, he's still horribly maladjusted to fatherhood, possibly still more sex-obsessed than either of his pubescent sons, and he's still profiting off of science his father did 50 years ago because he's a failure at super-science. And that's why we love him.
The Venture Bros is a show that deserves much more attention than it already has. Venture Bros is one of the best written adult cartoons out there, almost like the animated equivalent of Breaking Bad in terms of quality.
The problem was they just took too much time between seasons, it's hard for a fanbase to grow when you do that, the fans that you get in one season grow up and find new things to watch. It's hard to have a loyal fanbase when you do that. Yes, your product may have quality but it must have constance too.
No problem waiting for new content. From any good show. The real problem is that the show was never supported. An it took fan outrage to even get an ending.
I love the treaty signing, it was almost like Rusty was born for that moment. One of my favorite endings from a fantastic show. The Movie is something I am strongly looking forward to, but also sad that it means the end of my favorite show. Honestly it crosses so many lines it makes Rick and Morty look tame in comparison.
I don't know about making R&M look "tame"... more like "juvenile".. VB crosses fewer lines, but it does so in a mature and viscerally matter-of-fact way that has greater impact than simple "gross-out humor".
Great scenes, already waiting for the movie, although as Monarch's monologue I think I would have chosen when he does the thing with his robotic puppet hand, but really when I see monologues inmediatly thing in the one of Red Death
Needs Molotov's "I'd rather die" exchange with Brock on the cliff from Operation PROM - not a pure monologue, but maybe her best appearance and such a perfect moment for both characters.
Many shows tend to decline as they go on. Venture Bros wasn't one of them. Relevant example: Red Death is a fantastic villain and a brilliant addition from the later seasons.
That Monolog of Doc Venture’s talking to the Guild & OSI about compromise; I need someone to sit down with all our political leaders and give that speech to them.
so glad I pre-ordered the full series DVD. hoping we get to see what the deal was with the presidential time machine stuff in the movie. My theory is that Dr. Venture Sr. is still alive as a head in a jar, and it turns out that all the major red heads in the series (rusty, monarch, billy, dr Quymn, Jonus) were all failed clones of Venture Sr. and his whole deal from the beginning has been trying to become effectively immortal. Venturian/Vendata was an experiment in doing so with robotics, the P.R.O.B.L.E.M. was similar, and his experiments in cloning were intended as organ farms/new bodies. Later on Doc and Monarch have to go back in time to Stop Venture Sr. from doing some evil junk and end up being the ones who really cause the movie night massacre.
Clancy Brown is an actor that deserves an Oscar far more than some of the punks that have gotten it. One actor played the roles of The Kurgan, Mr Krabs and Red Death and each is distinct unto themselves yet it has never been recognised is a crime.
Just realized the train track is more than just the tick tick blind rage is deaf and uses his hearing and smell to fight his smell is overwhelmed by the river and the sound of the train only get more intense as it approaches meaning he’ll lose track of which side it’s on his sense will useless and he’ll feel all the fear red death wants him to feel
In new world of streaming, THIS SHOW CAN FINALLY LIVE, without anyone batting an eyelash at the gaps. So why not just make it a streaming only series??? The creative geniuses behind this have always needed their own time schedule, for better or worse, but this show has something so much more to it than words can express. You know how some people ~believe~ in a business/corporation? That's how i am with this project. I just want to give it all of my faith, time, and energy into seing this project through.... pretty please tv/streaming overlords, let this project live as it wishes to
I am going to be honest with you, in my own humble opinion without being sentimental of course, without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter from a distinctive perspective, I would like to say I have nothing to say.
The show doesn’t get the credit it deserves nor did it ever get its chance. Rick and Morty blew up but the venture bros never did for reasons I cannot fathom. A long intertwined story with callbacks and references to multiple seasons and episodes with different meanings and explanations breadcrumbed throughout which you only notice through multiple watches. Rick and Morty will explain its meta but the venture bros will make you go search for its clues and Easter eggs which makes me see it as desired favourite amongst adult swim’s shows. Just a shame it never had its time in the light before cancellation.
You said you "cannot fathom" how R&M got more popular, but you also hit the nail in the head as to why. Accessibility. Both shows will take a similar approach in its concepts, but Rick and Morty always rips on more mainstream trends. Not helped that when Venture Bros first came out, stuff like Doctor Strange and Fantastic Four were still wacky 60's comic book things and not multimillion dollar movies. Pop culture changed and the people who consumed it changed with it.
What? Did you forget about the monologue Billy gave when he was performing a heart transplant? “Yeah I didn’t go to any fancy university but I swore an oath to never let a patient die on my table!”
Man, villains just can’t help but monologue, can they?
Dr Venture isn't a villian... is he?
@@danielscott4349 I think he’s chaotic neutral
It’s basically a cliché when a villain monologues🙄
@@danielscott4349 Ehh....
You sly dogs!
Red Death having the same voice actor as Mr. Krabs makes me love his gentleman villain speech more.
Now that's a "same voice actor" post I want to see.
@@Aflay1James Urbaniak also voiced some Manhunt enemies.
@@LoneWandererCollin
Interesting.
Never played Manhunt before but I'm aware of it. It's that violent prison game right? That's awesome.
He also voice that Detective in Detriot Become Human too!
The Kurgan from Highlander!
Red Death's History Lesson, without a doubt the greatest monologue ever heard. I'm glad the studio made him a guy who doesn't screw around.
I love how they made him be a scary af villain while also being a loving husband and father. Such a great character.
actually my 2nd-favorite history lesson of red death; my favorite is the story how he got to see the sharky's machine
little detail is that red death put him in such a way that even if the train was on the other track, he would still get hit by it.
"THERE'S the ticking" is such a brutal line. It's so terrifying and the delivery is perfect.
It sells you on the classics too.
One of the rare moments where Rusty is the most mature person in the room - his moments of epiphany are so few and far between, but something to savor!
theres a youtuber named steak bentley who described rusty pretty well "in a world of costumed villains and supermen, rusty's the actual adult"

Such an incredible show full of so many amazing monologues, but Red Death's "gentleman villain" speech will always hold a special place in my heart

1:42 I love this speech. How is Dr Venture of all people the most reasonable and mature person in the room?
Because he's the only one who doesn't want to play the game, so he's the only person that's able to see the whole board at once.
What I love about Red Death's monologue is that Blind Rage is tied up in a way that no matter what track the train is on, he dies

I watched that clip of Red Death's monologue once on UA-cam and resolved to binge the show right then and there. Sooo good.

Red Death is such a good character. Him with his daughter’s relationship is so cute...
Red deaths ticking monologue is one of my favorites. Remember kids fear and old man in a profession where the people die young.
If this is the beginning of a hype push for Venture leading into the movie, I know what you're doing. AND I LOVE IT!
I’m happy Red Death was chosen for the thumbnail
The Monarch alone has enough monologues to last an hour.
