8 Guitar Solo Collaboration From A Different Dimension!

- My first frequent gig as a working musician was at Robert's Western World on Lower Broadway in Nashville, TN. Some of the best players to lend any twang to this world have come from this very bar and played the stage and songs I had with a very well known local band - The Don Kelley Band. I had been the youngest player to acquire the spot. This was a game changer.
We played 4 hours a night, for 4 days a week. Every week. I played close to 500 shows there. (464 to be exact) The player that I was prior to the gig could have gone in any direction completely unknown to me had I not been lucky enough to get this role. It molded a great deal of my musical identity as a musician, and character as a guitarist.
This compilation was taken from the last few weeks of my stand with The Don Kelley Band at Robert's Western World. Feels like home movies...

A long line of great guitarist served with Don Kelley. The first was Redd Volkaert and I think second was Brent Mason. You should be proud Daniel!

Don Kelly retired and moved to Florida. He had some great lead players. I hope they are all doing well..
I love this band, the Don Kelly band!That’s the same lineup of musicians that they had when I visited Nashville. After seeing this band play featuring Daniel on lead guitar I didn’t wanna go see anymore of Nashville I knew nothing was going to surpass what I was seeing and hearing.

As a band you have a great balance, are really tight and sound amazing; what a bunch of brilliant musicians. You also look like you are all having the best fun, what a fabulous gig it must have been.

They are all really talented. I think I like guitar for the sake of the song more than a song for the sake of guitar or any other instrument for that matter. Hope that makes sense and I wish I could play like that though.

Kevin James I agree! But I also think you’d hear a difference if they were muddbuckers. 😃 He’s getting that great woody SG sound! Most of the tone is def in the hands, but for us mortals, I’d like to know what pups can get me close to that woody sound.
Daniel, did you use any overdrives or did you plug straight into a Deluxe Reverb?

sweet thanks man. ive got an incredible sounding SG that I also use 10's on but its a tuning nightmare! did you have any special work done on yours (getting the nut replaced, etc.)?

jd is still the man i like daniels style better then lukes , more rockin but they are all great.
Too real guitar Playing.. this guy's Chicken pickin and Blues infused guitar playing is better than anybody who plays scales real fast. This is true Talent guitar playing not yngwie malmsteen doing the same lick over and over again. what's funny is this stuff has been going on for a very long time just nobody ever realized to appreciate it and probably still don't except for guitar players the listeners of great music.
You should stick with this guitar thing. I think it might work out for you.
