His Holiness Dalailama already told us who is the KARMAPA, the only one. I don't believe anyone would understand better than him.
He was asked to confirm a recognition that he was told was unanimous. He did that, without being directly involved. Years later he also confirmed (more privately) that the other candidate was an emanation of Karmapa, when asked to do so.

The Dalai Lama has no say in the Karma Kagyu Lineage. The Karmapa and Shamarpa are considered inseparable. Only Shamar Rinpoche has the right to recognize. The Dalai Lama was tricked into recognizing the Beijing chosen Karmapa . He was told all Kagyu regents were unanimous. Now Orgyen Trinlay has escaped his Gelugpa handlers , distanced himself from Tai Situ and reached out to Thaye Dorje. Let’s hear from them directly who is who and not the Gelugpa.
It's not Dalai Lama business to recognize everybody. He has his Gelug school and Kagu shouldn't be his business. It has always been Shamarpa's responsibility. It's that simple.
Lesson: We must visualize and treat all sentient beings as Buddha, instead of speaking ill of others.

Only bad thing is that one of the high lamas was not telling the truth ( Tai Situ or Shamar Rinoche) nothing wrong to test the hand write for authenticity when even Dalai Lama wanted to test the bones of the Buddha himself to scientific enquiry, and if you resist to a single test show you have some to hide; also one of the Karmapa fathered a child ( shown with DNA test) and have several accusations of sexual misconduct even to minors where the other just got married in legal terms without deceiving young ladies.

We don’t have the power to tell who’s the real karmapa so let’s just end this whole mess . Two of the heart sons recognised the two Karmapas and we should respect it. The two Karmapas met and have a good relationship. It is the people below who are constantly at each others throat. Respect and love for both Karmapas. May they live long and their wishes be fulfilled. I had the good luck, that my teachers told me from beginning, that Karmapas have many emanation and their is not about of wrong and right. Now both has meet and give advice, not to discuss, because this is not helpfull for the dharma practice. So even if sombody is devoted to only one of them, the instruction is clear.

The Great Masters like Jamyang Künste Wangpo , does not have a long lineage history like the Karmapas, but was very respected by all the religious schools of Tibet. Many Rinpoches like the late Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dzongsar Khyentse Choeky Lodre and more were his reincarnation and all of them worked togather for the benefit of all sentient beings. It is a great tragedy that Karmapa’s regents were unable to choose the same path…

As a Tibetan and a buddhist, I think there isnt a real or fake reincarnation. It’s a belief which has been going on for centuries and no matter what people will believe in reincarnation based on their reasons. So, the reincarnation is not important, the important question is how it’s going to effect the Tibetan Buddhism.

I only have a comfortable impression when I see and hear Situ Rinpoche and "his" Karmapa. Although I don't know if this young man can reach his full potential under the current circumstances. The former one was outstanding in every concern. This is a viewpoint from outside - I'am christian 😊

There is no such thing as real or unreal. In another word there is no such thing as unchanging Entity. Every thing is impermanent. In my opinion whoever proofs to be rendering the greatest service to Dharma and sentient beings, that can be consider as the real karmapa. After all, the title Karmapa means one who performs, enlighten karma or activity for the benefit of others on the behalf of all the Buddha’s and Bodhisattvas. I think this the strongest criterial.

I don't see why both can't be the Karmapa. At the enlightened level, you can manifest as many forms as you want.
Also, centuries ago, the 18th Karmapa was prophesied to manifest two Nirmanakaya forms. Technically, these guys are the 18th Karmapa, as one Karmapa died as a small child, before he could be enthroned.
I just don't think it's a big deal. What kind of people are they? is a better question.

There is only one Venerable Karmapa in this world. Each incarnation of Karmapa will leave a prophetic letter to his disciples, asking his disciples to find the reincarnation of his soul boy. The guru of the 16th Karmapa was Tai Situ Rinpoche. After Tai Situ Rinpoche death, Tai Situ Rinpoche reincarnated and became a disciple of the 16th Karmapa. After 16th Karmapa death, the 16th Karmapa reincarnated and became a disciple of Tai Situ Rinpoche. , that is, the 17th Karmapa Ugyen Trinley Dorje. This is the history of the Kagyu lineage.
.... Ohh GYGEN was brought to his monastery in Tibet by the normal method of selection . OYGNEN escapde China and came to be with HH Dalai Lama. The other karmapa did not have these experiences and was not raised as a boy in the Tibet monastery. OYGEN gave me his blessing when he was a young boy and later when he got to northern India.(total 3 times). OYGEN is respected by Dallas Buddhist group. I do not know anything about the other Karmapa.

The title "Bejing Karmapa" is misleading! seems to imply that Ogyen Trinley Dorje has a connection with the Beijing Gov. He was recognized as the Karmapa by Beijing more for the title influence and he was invited to visit Beijing twice. However he chose to leave China for better religious development and Dharma activities. He was questioned, searched and raided by Indian gov. because they suspect that he was a Chinese spy. Ogyen Trinley Dorje never lose his mind and hope on people. When he left China, he left a note saying that his leaving is not to betray his country and nation, that he will find back the black hat and some Dharma tools left by the past Karmapa. Sadly because of this controversy, he hasn't been able to achieve his goal in order to return to his homeland. From all this challenges and passing thru, I greatly admire Ogyen Trinley Dorje as the unsurpassed lineage leader in my heart! The only other one who has the similar experience is the Dalai Lama.
In 21 century, people sending man in moon and will be sending man to the Mars. I can not comprehand believing in two Karmapas. It is only believed by those who still, think, that the earth is flat, and the Lamas have pure hearts. We lost our country, because of such unbelievable interpretations.
what about other rinpoches and tulku ?

For those who do not know abt Tibetan Buddhism or it’s politics, the ‘2’ Karmapa controversy emerged from 1 man greed n ego. He was the shamarpa who died few yrs ago n thaye reincarnated him with the birth of his son. For this, there is no coincidence that the real Karmapa stands above all politics n is the one that is recognised n backed by both the Dalai Lama and Sakya Trizin.
The question is not who is the only authentic Karmapa, the question is how can we deal with a rising China witch still is undergoing everything to spead disharmonie and doubt into the tibetan comunity.
China has forbiden tibetan as dharma language und China wants to eliminate the clear transmission of the traditional buddist lineages.
I think we can discus witch Karmapa we like better, but we should avoid every stupid gossip . The chinese could forbid the practise of the rainbow body but they can not forbid the truth of the dharma.
I'll go by behavior, and after the abuse allegations against Ogyen, I'm more inclined to believe Thaye Dorje is thd correct Karmapa.

DL seems to have a habit of endorsing those w/ controversies surrounding them like this guy, Sogyal, french western lama who built a monetary or sth in France etcetc.. & He did so despite being made fully aware of their atrocities.
