Been watching Kyo since the time I only had Hoshiguma as a 6* and needed strats to clear. Now I brute force everything with Surtr, Eyja and my friends' Thorns and SA, but some stages in this game need braincells and papa Kyo supplies them for most of us.
Lmao my strat was zima first, then specter at the right side, this was gonna leak one out so at the very last second drop red right after the enemy goes in the blue box, my red wasn't strong enough so she died while the enemy was one hit away, so immediately drop vigna, then proceed as normal
I used Liskarm, and in the boss's first stage she SOMEHOW managed to survive even without the shield. Not related to Hoshiguma, I know, but something I thought was interesting when I was about to swap.
Something I learned playing this stage: Asbestos’s S1 can dodge the shield explosion, meaning Asbestos plus two medics can stall the boss nearly indefinitely.
It makes sense if someone that doesn't understand the game uses this tactic with higher operators that DP gets very low, because of the multiple redeploys the higher operator cost of higher rarity eats DP fast. That means after redeploy you might only be able to deploy 2 instead of 3 operators because you use high rarity, high cost, operators, something I like because it shows how but balanced the game is, sure you can overpower content with high rarity, but high rarity might not work with low rarity tactics because of cost that usually comes with higher rarity. (Usually I don't watch guides, but I hate the mechanics of this event, I can't even see most of the colour changes and to plan appropriately I would need to draw out the movement of the mobs, way too lazy for that.)
yeah I can agree, the colour change mechanic is super weird and clunky and feels very unrewarding to figure out and get right. and if things don't go perfectly then you just fail. The worst offender was the Roadblock EX stage IMO, with the unblockable enemies that you're supposed to guide through colour changes in order to be able to block and then take out... gah so frustrating The -2 block (EX CM) stage was extremely frustrating too just simply because it basically meant you could only deploy Defenders and E2 AoE Guards. I feel bad for Cesith trying to clear it with his No-Gacha account, I don't think he'll be able to honestly...
@@Kilo6Charlie or...just overpower them with snipers and casters but put a ranged guard that can do arts as well as a good guard just in front of the right side of enemy spawn
@@Kilo6Charlie i was able to clear it pretty easily using slow supporters and ranged DPS and only 2 ground units, it was much easier than my atttempt at using defenders/AOE guards

I don’t know what people are talking about with the “dp issues”. I’m using six stars that take the most dp way more than kyo uses in the videos and I still end up being maxed at 99 soo.. Anyways thank you so much Kyo! You did amazing :]
At the start you may not have enough dp to deploy all operators to block the initial enemies, I used 6 stars too and Specter and I still needed to block one enemy with Gravel that managed to slip away lol
its only in the beginning when I struggle with DP, past that no prob, I used the same ops for the beginning except I used specter instead so my DP cost went way up.
Kyo always uses low rarity in those guides, which cost less DP than 5-6*. For example i don't have Myrtle s1 M3 and replaced courier with higher rarity vanguard which cost more DP, because of that my aoe guard will come too late to block first enemies. Which is why I would need to do some tweaks and adjustments.
I only ever couldn't make a Kyo strategy work once and yeah it was a DP thing but strangely it worked out after an update (timing was super tight so I assume I had some split-second bug where it was just enough delay to make a difference) every other time, even if his strat doesn't work, I think about why. In this case (which confused me cuz the normal version worked), I was deploying the 2nd medic a tiny bit too early, which made them stay the target, which messed up the colours of the surrounding tiles. Could've also fixed it with the bomb but I noticed too late. So thanks again for these, Kyo. I need them less and less every time, so you're indeed raising new big-brain doctors, even if it's frustrating that some aren't even trying.
Another event, another fantastic series of videos to help save other dokutah's sanity. When I don't want to throw away all my practice drills trying to sort out the stage's weird quirks, guides like yours really are a life saver. Thanks a million times over for the time you take making these.

Really? Is split-boxing not well known? Actually I found that out from a youtube video so i didnt figure it out on my own but in hindsight have people not been panic dropping units on enemies and realizing they were sharing two tiles?

btw, myrtle first then courier can get you the same amount of DP, but faster, if you want to do myrtle(8) courior(10) at s3 then you can get 21 dp blaze down without needing someone to block like plume
Used Gavialter instead of Popukar, wanted to see if she could tank Free's shield explosion with her s3's damage reduction. Well instead of tanking it she just broke through the shield completely and demolished phase 1, so for phase 2 I just popped Surtr on the other side of Free and called it a day

And on the LAST Surtr of the LAST day of the event, I managed to complete your method and receive the medals. I'm shaking right now. I can't believe this. Thanks to you, I was able to get through this stage. Interestingly, instead of Popukar I used Blaze (E2 65lvl S2M3) and she managed to survive the explosion of the shield
i just cleared the final stage at 4:05 am pst (5 minutes after event ends) lol i always procrastinate and have a heart attack trying to follow the last stage's guide

Other than using Siege with S2 on the left, and Bibeak with S2 on the right I pretty much followed Kyo's play. Since it was so similar to normal WR-EX-8, I luckily cleared it in one go. As always, Thanks a lot! Honestly the hardest thing wasn't the map, but finding a high-enough-leveled Surtr friend!😅
Ya know, this whole event has reminded me how much I enjoy a good pencil. No ink, no smears, no exploding murder-hydras trying to eat my face. Just good reliable non-hostile graphite. As always: Cheers Kyo. ^_^
Hoshiguma is a GOD IN the last part, with his pasive she can evade the aoe atack after the shield, gavial and myrrh also keep her alive. You should try it! Off course, is RNG, but if you are lucky, you dont need to swap her if she doesn't die
Coincidentally I tried with both Hoshi and thicc snek and they both survived the entire time. love my tanky girls (I'm curious whether Mudrock would be able to survive on her own too, but I don't have her so I can't test it out D:)

People who complain about dp problems when following these guides are just dumb. Like you're using high rarity ops when following a guide that is specifically catered to lower rarity so of course you're going to have dp issues. It's kinda your fault that you run into dp problems, not Kyo's. I myself replace Kyo's ops with higher rarity ops and if I have dp problems and can't deploy stuff in time, then I just replace my op with lower rarity ops. I sometimes even change things up and not deploy certain ops to save dp since my higher rarity ops can handle it. If you have dp problems then try to fix it yourself instead of complaining.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. "How are they having DP problems if they're doing the guide properly?..." I also alter his suggested squad but even then, if they have a leveled Myrtle it should be fine...maybe they aren't using Myrtle or she isn't properly skilled/leveled.
I only have a certain set of operators leveled, not the exact same low rarity ones kyo uses here, grinding to get those up to spec would be annoying. Then again I wasn't someone who complained about DP because I just changed deployment order to make it work.
Best way to do it if the guide doesn't require Myrtle is to place Myrt on one corner of the map to generate DP. If he take 12 operators use one support to replace one of the operators. This generally works in my case even if I have to substitute higher rarity operators

Finally i have finished it, thx lord kyo... For the tip... you can use surtr S3 with lvl 7, it doesn't need to be mastery 3 and also i did this stage using my surtr which she was only E2 and lvl 10 Tbh this stage wasn't that hard if you follow kyo's order... at least not as hard as maria nearl event' ex stage
Gummy can survive boss bubble-blast if the 2-nd ability is used. I'm not sure it's super helpful, but this allows to tank with 1 tank. Kyo thanks for videos, helps a lot!
if you put myrtle before courier she can tank the first enemy then activate her skill after deploying him,that way you can put down popukar before the enemy stars to move and then just put sussuro asap so that popukar can survive the damage from the enemy just saying it and thanks for the vid kyoV.
Blaze facetanked the shield break while they were the same color while Eyja and Surtr whaled on both boss phases. Silence's drone is still the MVP for keeping Surtr alive just that much longer to extend DPS phase.
TYSM, I used this from the beginning since this is the last day but I never would've discovered the tile change by the boss which allows the swimming thing to be blocked on the right side or how the flames explode each other without your guide

Well usually one of them is already enough, you can always use support units, just find yourself a friend with Surtr or Eyja

Not indefinite, but my Skadi (level 90 S3M3) could survive the explosion as well. Plus Mudrock can do it with her shield
I mean... I just dropped a Mudrock in front of the boss. She can literally single handedly stall him forever.

I 100% agree with you. The Yin-Yang effect is hard to see. They should change the effect into an icon or something with more clarity.

I sometimes even change things up and not deploy certain ops to save dp since my higher rarity ops can handle it. If you have dp problems then try to fix it yourself instead of complaining.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. "How are they having DP problems if they're doing the guide properly?..." I also alter his suggested squad but even then, if they have a leveled Myrtle it should be fine...maybe they aren't using Myrtle or she isn't properly skilled/leveled.
I only have a certain set of operators leveled, not the exact same low rarity ones kyo uses here, grinding to get those up to spec would be annoying. Then again I wasn't someone who complained about DP because I just changed deployment order to make it work.
Best way to do it if the guide doesn't require Myrtle is to place Myrt on one corner of the map to generate DP. If he take 12 operators use one support to replace one of the operators. This generally works in my case even if I have to substitute higher rarity operators
Same. I didn't upgrade those 5* and 6* to not use them, so I sometimes either lag in his instructions or have to add extra DP

For the tip... you can use surtr S3 with lvl 7, it doesn't need to be mastery 3 and also i did this stage using my surtr which she was only E2 and lvl 10
Tbh this stage wasn't that hard if you follow kyo's order... at least not as hard as maria nearl event' ex stage
Gummy can survive boss bubble-blast if the 2-nd ability is used. I'm not sure it's super helpful, but this allows to tank with 1 tank.

if you put myrtle before courier she can tank the first enemy then activate her skill after deploying him,that way you can put down popukar before the enemy stars to move and then just put sussuro asap so that popukar can survive the damage from the enemy

Blaze facetanked the shield break while they were the same color while Eyja and Surtr whaled on both boss phases. Silence's drone is still the MVP for keeping Surtr alive just that much longer to extend DPS phase.

if you have Mudrock, you can just have her solo-stall at the end there

hell yeah, I cleared every stage in this event with CM and I did it without cheesing with Surtr, in fact I did this stage without single 6☆ operator
TYSM, I used this from the beginning since this is the last day but I never would've discovered the tile change by the boss which allows the swimming thing to be blocked on the right side or how the flames explode each other without your guide
