Johnny Mathis was my favorite singer as a teenager in the 60s. I would listen to him on the radio station KXYZ in Pasadena Texas. Now at the age of 77, I am watching him sing for the first time and I am blown away with the depth of beautiful expressions on his face as he sings his songs. It’s like he’s making love with every song! He is truly one of the greatest vocalist that ever lived in my opinion! He is not only gifted but he is anointed! That kind of giftedness and anointing lasts throughout all eternity!
That was such a wonderful session full of do much brilliant talent. Loved Johnny for years. Thank you Jim for giving us the opportunity to record and watch as many times as we want to. Just brilliant, feel so good now . 34:0834:08
Just love the sound of his glorious voice every time I hear him sing!! I first heard him in Newark , NJ in 1959 and he just gets better and better!! God blessed him with such a marvelous voice and he never disappoints!!

Jim... we've met, but eons ago. I believe Ray H or Kirk R intro'ed us. I've know JM for 5 decades and am a friend of Scott L's as well. I always loved the lushness you got out of your orchestrations and the players. I'm sure you're still doing the same today. I certainly hope so. This TV special was wonderful. I saw it when it first aired and have a copy that Maria N. sent me, from her own recording. I'm pretty sure she was at the session, as well. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for putting this up here for more 'appreciators' to experience 'Mathis Magic'. Best, WL

Went to several of his shows at Valley Forge Music Fair in the 70's. Loved every one! Such talent and such a totally nice person!
