Hi Commanders! Please do not spoil the game, including giving any subtle hints of what's to come! These are once in a lifetime experiences for us gamers, and they cant be recreated if spoiled. Also, use my code BWROBYN20 for 20% off the BioWare Gear Store! gear.bioware.com/ 💙
The russian national anthem was a nod to hunt for red october, where a new soviet sub that was quiet was being followed by an american sub. The americans couldnt hear the sub but they heard the soviets singing their national anthem instead lol
I like how every original member in the Normandy is happy that Tali is back, no side comments or jokes about Tali, just happy that she is there with everyone again.
The quarian admiralty board is stacked! Raan is an Oscar nominee, Gerrel and Xen are voiced BioWare veterans, both are possible companions in Dragon Age: Origins, Gerrel also voices Dr. Archer from Overlord DLC and Claudia Black who voices Xen, does 2 characters in ME3; she uses her English accent for Xen and her American accent for Aethyta aka Liara's dad. Koris is Alfred from the Batman Arkham games, then of course there's Tali.
Don't forget Gerrel's actor is also Kain from the Legacy of Kain series, as great a video game story as Mass Effect...IMO. If you can't play the game, watch the cutscene movies
39:02 soooo, I got bored: Shepherd starts Mass Effect 1 as a Lieutenant Commander aboard the Normandy as its XO. She enlists at 18, and holds Lt Commander at 29 when Mass Effect starts. Going off the same standards used in the Royal Navy, she probably got sponsored for higher education (hence Shepherd's ability to be, say, an Engineer), as most officers will tend to be university grads before they start military training. Assume that took 3 years I don't think there's any canon answer as to the length of Alliance officer training, but if we base it off of the Royal Navy again then there'd be an initial military skills training, followed by professional maritime (space) training, then her specialist training for her specific role. Also factor in whatever biotics specialist training there is. We also need to consider her N7 designation. Point being, if the Alliance follows similar conventions, she'll have become a Lieutenant, *probably* coinciding with N7 graduation, at about 24/25. N7 implies faster progression through senior leadership, so lets say she reached Lt Commander by 27. She also *has* to be a Commander by ME3, otherwise Ash as a Lt Commander would be the same rank, and given Anderson reinstates her at leaving Earth she must have been Commander by the epilogue of ME1 at the latest, if not when she got made a Spectre. So, using RN pay scales as a base, Shepherd is probably on a basic salary of £83,524 a year (plus whatever inflation happens between now and 2186, and converting to Credits). Add to that any 'at sea' time that's added to those serving tours on spacecraft, and whatever salary/discretionary funding she gets as a Council Spectre. Girl's probably got a non-contributory pension too, plus free board/food whilst on deployment and whatever medical benefits the Alliance offers. We can also consider the fact she's, as a Spectre, seemingly allowed to just loot corpses and personal property whilst on assignment, which will give a nice boost Tl;dr: Shepard is absolutely blowing past 6 figures a year, at least before tax
Javik is the perfect embodiment of "steel manning" the other side of an argument : he speaks with absolute conviction, clearly and intelligently, for the exact opposite of what the game is advocating for. Great stuff! . . . and make sure to keep visiting the two engineers in the machine room.
@@lucyjrobynIt's based on a Tom Clancy novel about a Soviet submarine with a Scottish commander lol It made Tom Clancy infamous as it earned him a visit by the FBI asking how he knew certain things. "Hunt for Red October - Soviet Anthem"
It's really great seeing you take Kaidan on missions. He never gets screentime in most people's playthroughs, and I lost him on Virmire, so I like getting to see more of him. I've always enjoyed him as a character. Which is why I respected his wishes on Virmire and saved Ashley for him.
I have been binging your playthrough and now I'm all caught up and can't binge anymore 😭 My favorite thing is how much you love the music in this game. It's hits.
Awww I’m glad you’ve been enjoying! I’ve been really slow at replying to comments lately but I’ve been reading all of them🙏🏼 thank you so much for watching. The music is epic right?!
I actually came here through a short about Thane and I actually thought you completed the game long ago but you're still playing. I'd love to see all your reactions to the game.
Yay! Tali is back ❤ I love the quarian act almost as much as the Tuchanka one. I also love that little convo between Kaidan and Tali and Shepard's "Better now". That sky walk through the tube always makes me anxious just thinking about it. If i was Shepard I would also be freaking out (especially after freaking dying in the middle of space) but I guess that's why we are not Shepard 😂😂😂😂
Something that I’m not sure is a spoiler, but there is a theory of who the farm girl that the assari is. In game it takes a bit of digging due to how the story is told and were the other info comes from. And I say theory because I don’t know if it has been confirmed.
*I'm normally more of a lurker on Twitch but when you went back to the Purgatory bar at the start of the stream and passed out **_(again)_** I couldn't help but say something 😆you have build yourself a nice community on Twitch, I'll definitely try to join more live streams!*
Ahaha I had to try it again! I cut it out of the UA-cam eps cuz I try and keep them short and concise haha. The Twitch community is really great, glad to have you here and there!
29:18, I would definitely prefer the ME2 Shockwave over the ME3 one. It looks and sounds more powerful to me. The one in ME3 feels like a very short wibble in the air.
I have this headcanon that Shepard does the spacewalk through the falling apart geth docking bay so slowly, not only because she's wearing mag-boots, but also cos the last time she was on a ship falling apart as much as that, it was the Normandy SR1.. To me she's fighting panic and anxiety as well as the lack of gravity! Not supported at all by the VA or the writing, but I like it as an idea 😎
The 'farmgirl' the light blue asari is talking about is related to somebody you know. Keep revisiting her to get the full story. You can just exit the room and re-enter if you want to continue the story quickly.
"This is dangerous work. I hope Shepard is well paid." Love that hahahaha For the hand washing, Javik feels the emotions and gets information from others that have touched surfaces he touches. I think he mentions during his reading of Grunt former presence in the Port Cargo Bay that it is why he washes his hands, to remove that contact.
Ngl I felt I a proud big brother when Admiral Ra'an announced Tali as the Quarians newest admiral 🥹 Also I noticed that Koris is the nice admiral in this game while Gerrel is the douche. The roles were reversed in ME2 lol
The Farm Girl is someone of relevance but its only hinted at who she is during the game. Bioware had to announce the fan theories were true, well sort of had to. If I remember right they thought they didn't need the hard confirmation in game but when the internet kept asking they said (short of it): You're all correct, she is who you think she is. Edit: Cry-oh... short for Cryogenic Edit 2: Don't forget your ammo powers! Incendiary should make you melt through yellow health bars.
I took Ashley along with Tali on this mission. Ash was my first romance and I ended things with her and moved to Tali. Let's just say having your ex and your girlfriend doesn't make up a good conversation.
there really isnt much to be afraid about scanning the solar systems, after all you can just dip out and dip back in when needed of and when the reapers come and get close, but atleast the rewards for scanning the solar systems would make you alot of Credits really easy, which means being able to buy more guns and upgrades and such, and so its a win win, of course it be less of a hassle if you started doing this early in the game though, otherwise it be a couple hours session but its all worth the effort to buy all the gear you want.
@lucyjrobyn Hey, You know I agree with Javik, Whether the Machines are alive or not is an irrelevant discussion, Because the question is, They will always see us as inferiors who can destroy them, And we see them as superiors, A peace with the Machines will never It will last, Think about it, Do you think Peace with the Reapers is possible? In real life we know that animals are alive, that they have feelings and desires, but do you know what Humanity's understanding of them is? that they are an inferior species to us and that is why they know the role of submission and we of dominance. This real concept if used in Mass Effect, applies to us from the perspective of the Machines. There will always be distrust between entities with power, Again bringing a real example, Countries arm themselves out of distrust and fear of each other, Conflicts always happen in our world, What I wrote is just for you to reflect on.

Omg this is the best haha she's making bank! Good for her!
Tali is the best part of any ME game
She is always a welcome face on the Normandy💜
@@lucyjrobyn well... welcome face behind the mask

He’s such a great character. Don’t worry, I visit everyone all the time - I just edit it out if they don’t have any new conversations🙏🏼
20:48 Joker's comment is a reference to the movie The Hunt for Red October
I'm not familiar with that one! Will have to look it up

Thanks for this trivia! I always wondered about that comment. I watched Red October waaayyy back.

I'm forever AMAZED how insanely good a job Jennifer Hale does in this series. Superlative work!
Javik keeps washing his hands because, if you remember, he "sees" history through touch. Every object is filled with resonance to him.
I have been binging your playthrough and now I'm all caught up and can't binge anymore 😭

Yes still got a fair bit to go!🙏🏼
20:12 Honestly it's fascinating, I've watched a fair few Mass Effect playthroughs, quite a lot of people read Cryo as Cyro.

absolutely love the pink combat armor
I do too🥰
The armour sets in ANDROMEDA are *insane* ! And my Ryder always goes out decked in pink. That's right!
From here on it gets me every time. I imagine it will be niagara falls for newcomers. You better drink plenty of water.
You just managed to warn Raan in time about the Koresh. I think you only had about 5 seconds left before the option disappears.
Ngl I felt I a proud big brother when Admiral Ra'an announced Tali as the Quarians newest admiral 🥹

The gang is back together, it's a shame Wrex couldn't join up for a tiny bit. 😅
The next episode is going to be a fun one 😁
20:50 Hunt for Red October reference.
If you one day replay the trilogy, consider bringing Legion to Tali’s court in ME2. It is fun 😅
Yes I would love to see how that goes down!
Yessir! I’ve been waiting for this episode! I cannot wait too for walking dead play throughs!
Coming soon I promise!🙏🏼
The q-where-rians 🙃. It's ME3 and you just outright refuse to pronounce it like everyone else lol.
What a rebel ✊🏼🗽
Tali is such a cool Character! Take all the Screenshots you want! 😂🥰
Ahaha she's just too cute!
Thanks
AH! Thank you so much! That's very generous, appreciated!🙏🏻
The Russian anthem bit hasn't aged well.. It's a reference to an old submarine film called 'Hunt for the red October'
If you ever do a male shep playthrough I really recommend the tali romance her and shepherd are so flirty with each other it annoys your teammates
Ahaha I love the sound of that

Still waitin for the walking dead 😂💀
