Honestly sounds like landlords haven’t changed in 2000 years 😂

George C. Scott was the best nonmuppet version of A Christmas Carol.

That was great, Raven. Though I wasn't wrapping my self in a warm blanket with a hot drink here. 35°C where I am in Australia. Happy Holidays. Cheers. 🍻🍻

Thank you for the wonderful ghostly gift. I love all of the stories that you choose to share with us. Story telling is definitely your gift, no matter what the subject might be. I wish for you happiness, good health, good friends, and good food for every day of the new year which has been announced by the Winter Solstice.

Well Raven, if you played Scrooge, it was based on acting skill and certainly not any typecasting! As it happens, I was an adult and adulting for quite some time before a glimmer of awareness grew in my brain as to why "scary ghost stories" was included in the Christmas song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". I MAY have been watching A CHRISTMAS CAROL (right after hearing the song again) when it (finally) dawned on me. Let the mocking commence! And HUGGABLE HAPPY HOLIDAYS to YOU!

It's only now that the spooky Christmas trend is coming back so not knowing until adulthood is ABSOLUTELY okay! I only found out about this a few years ago, myself. I didn't even think about the lyrics so that was a fun thing to learn this Yuletide. All my best to you and your family this season!!!

Just cruising through Ravens video's. So fun. That girl has character, in a really good way. I was reflecting on New Years incident, back when. Found myself at a pub like establishment in Pisa Italy, near midnight. Was waiting for the bus, but it had broken down. So after midnight they licked us out and closed down. Well , with all that beer, nature had to be answered. The Leaning Tower is right across the street, in a grassy field, in the Dark. So that's where I went. One New Years night. Funny, nearly the exact same thing happened a few months earlier at Stonehendge, England. It too, is in a big grassy area. It was dark. The pub was in Salisbury. Archeology can be fun.

Merry Christmas, Raven, I just got your book as an early present and am definitely looking forward to reading it! Also, my parents and I went to see The Muppet Christmas Carol on a big screen at the AFI Silver Spring two days ago and it was delightful.

I've always enjoyed a good ghost story, especially at Christmas. One of my personal favourites is one called The Man of Science by Jerome K. Jerome. A spooky tale of revenge from beyond the grave.💀
Thank you for all your amazing videos in 2024. Here's to 2025. 🥂
    Merry Christmas, Raven. 😊

the BBC has done a Ghost Story for Christmas (on and off) since the 1970s, I think they're back again?
Of course it's not surprising that the ancient world is full of superstition and supernatural stories, but I never thought they'd actually have proper ghost stories too! Interesting that it's not just a christian thing to "bury the bones with a proper ritual" to resolve the situation!
(I love the idea of the ghost rolling its eyes and rattling impatiently at the philosopher. Darned stoics!)

    True story, haunted house??
I was looking to buy a house in north San Diego County, California , near the small town of Valley Center. We had a realtor. But after several days of looking, nothing was suitable. Then on day , early in the morning we got a call from the realtor about a house, that was a " rush " sell at a reduced cost. She asked if we wanted to see it right away. ? Yes we did. So we met the realtor at the house and she let us in. We liked the house and the price was right. Oh, in passing, I asked "Why was it a rush sell?" After, a brief hesitation, she said the wife had her husband murdered by two teenage boys, in the bathroom. Her lawyer needed the money. My wife practically ran out of the house. It was a no sell. I couldn't convince her it was a great deal. The story of the murder was printed in the LA Times, April 1989. Apparently , the lawyer had lowered the price considerably to sell the house.
