Hands down, best part was hearing players talk about hitting with the hitting instructor.
Obviously I'm a mets fan, and this Red Sox spring training behind the scene got me amped.
When Devers said “Thank you Benny” on the fly ball I think I just found my new favorite player
Seeing JD work with Devers is encouraging, however, Devers is a special kind of hitter. He's gifted with a very unorthodox style which shouldn't work but for him, it absolutely does. This goes against all logic, but leave Devers alone, he's a different hitting cat. ⚾
Jeep Beach Wheelin' an unorthodox stance and hand placement is fine- but all angles end up the same. Which is the discussion here. What JD was tellin him was NOT to change the height of his hands- he simply pointed out there’s times when he gets lazy with his hands. That when he’s where he needs to be he’s good. But when he lowers and chicken wings his elbows is when his mechanics fall off. He wasn’t trying to tell him to change anything. Just thought I had to point that out. Lol.
