100% keep with the talks at start, the edits highly amuse me and its what puts the channel apart from others about axolotls! The axie community isn't massive, and it can be quite intimidation to new owners, it's nice to have someone down to earth rather than feeling like you can't ask questions! Stick to what you do :) Two of mine would eat until they explode, and my other two seem to stop after 1/1.5 worms haha. My dwarf is the worst for eating tons, he would keep going he doesn't seem to have a stop button. I have to try and judge with him as he already has a belly that looks like it could explode 😂😂😂😂 he likes a worm or two in the morning, then in the evening still looks for some pellets 😂
Thank you so much for your honest and kind feedback, Chloe! I really do appreciate you, and I'm super thankful for your continued support. Isn't it humorous just how much axolotls can differ! I imagine feeding time must be loads of fun! lol
I don't disagree 🤣. Over the years I've come back to so many of his videos for info when I have an issue and find myself skipping around to find what I need. still my favorite UA-cam personality for sure.
I'm not an axolotl owner, nor capable of taking care of one, but I want to write a story about a character who does have one as a pet and works to restore and repopulate their natural habitat. These videos are still very valuable to me because I enjoy researching the topics I plan to write about and want these stories to be accurate. I also like these animals overall and knowing more about them can't hurt! Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos, you're helping a lot of people!
I appreciate the "chitter chatter". When I watch your videos, it makes me feel like I'm hanging out with a friend of mine, talking about our little lotls and the best way to care for them. Keep doing what you're doing - it's fantastic!
First time commenting.. I've wanted an axolotl for almost 2 years and just got one a few days ago. I've been studying your channel for information. And it's not just the expert advice that you give, but your chit chat/update and personality. Don't change (for anyone but yourself) or let negative words effect your style. This video is great! I want to make sure he is well fed and happy!
Thank you so very much, Amber! I'm super grateful for your support and lovely feedback too! I hope my future uploads prove equally as entertaining too!
I just found your channel recently. I bought two juvenile axolotls a couple of weeks ago. Your channel is awesome and I’ve already learned a lot from you! I really enjoy your channel, and I’ve never thought you “speak too much”, I actually really enjoy it! Please keep up the great work and keep being yourself! ☺️
I’m new to the channel, but I love the format. It’s casual and friendly, but informative as well! I’ve been binge-watching your videos and I’m so in love with the little critters that I have started looking for somewhere locally where I can get myself a little ‘lotl. Keep up the good work Frankie!
Welcome aboard! And thank you for your kind words and support! I sure hope you continue to enjoy the content, and wish you every success in finding your very own 'water sausage' to welcome home!
I had great success! I found someone locally who was looking to rehome his two wild-type males. So today I got to welcome them home, and I’ve named them Oscar Meyer and Frankfurter, or Oscar and Frank.
Hello there!! I’m a new member to your channel. Part of the reason why subscribed is because of your dialogue. I think you are extremely knowledgeable on the subject in which you teach. I also find you funny and I love hearing talk, so thank you for choosing to keep things light and interesting.. if people want to learn about Axolotls without hearing someone talk, then they should just Google it and just read about whatever it is they want to learn about, because UA-cam is a place where you can learn just about anything, and what makes it fun is that you get to listen to humans talk about whatever it is that your trying to learn, and you do a terrific job at doing that. Keep up the good work, I’ll be listening 😊
I have 2 Axoloti. 1 Lucy and 1 wild, they live together in a 100 litre long tank. The lucy eats twice a day and is very active. The wild eats about half the amount of its tank mate and only every other day. They are both about 8 months old. Should I be worried about the wild one not eating as much as the Lucy? They both look healthy but the lucy is more active. I feed worms, blood worms and occasionally pellets.
Hi there, Eyad. Thanks for your comment! So, I wouldn't be overly concerned if both your axolotl appear happy, healthy and in good shape. It is likely just two different characters with each axolotl. Sometimes you'll meet some that are super greedy and will eat everything they can find, whereas others will only eat on occasion. As long as both are not underweight or sickly I would not be worried personally. I hope this helps! And thanks again for your support!
Hey Frankie! I love your videos and I will be getting my first axolotl in a few days. I can't wait! Just to check in, you said you feed them 1/4 of a cube a day of the blood worms, 1 earthworm and pellets. Do you feed them bloodworms, earthworms and pellets everyday or do you switch it up? Thanks!!
Hey man, I love the interaction and how you go about showing your recommendations for the Axolotls! I just got my first one, a wild-type girl names Luna. These vids have been a big help! Thanks so much!
Just bought my first Axie (been keeping fish for years). Stumbled upon your videos a few of days ago, and i've literally watched them all! Love your chatty style :) and i've learnt loads from you and others already on Axolotl care. Keep up the videos, you are doing a great job!
You do You! I quite enjoy watching your videos:) There will always be someone negative, you are correct. They can choose not to watch or simply skip past the begging🤷🏻♀️ The rest of us just want you to be yourself!♥️🇨🇦♥️
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! I believe the music chosen in this video is credited on the description, so hopefully that will help you find it. I must say I do love this song too! So catchy! Thanks so much for your support!
Hi Frankie, What can you do if your axies refuse worms? I keep persevering but they are just not interested at all. I have 2 rescue boys that are 2 years old. I couldn't find your patreon page. When I press the link, it says page not found. Thanks
I’m new to Frankie’s aquatics … I found you looking for information about Axolotls, I’ve been waiting to own one for a while. Thank you for all the informational content. I love it. Keep going buddy
Like the videos bro got my 2 in a new setup 72 gallon bow front aquarium. keep the water at 67 with platinum white cloud minnows and reg White Cloud Mountain minnows . They seem to be loving it they are exploring all the time . Loving earthworms , pellet food and bloodworms.
As a new axolotl owner, I find your videos very helpful and informative, so thank you! Sending well wishes all the way from Lithuania! (also, the chatter at the beginning doesn't bother me at all! It makes the videos feel more casual, not so stiff and formal)
To sum up my last comment i do have a question about feeding, mine is still very shy as everythings new , is it okay to just put the cube in the bowl? Hes a bit scared of earthworms , i had cut up some and put them in the bowl and left him be and he finally came out but by the time i saw him all thwt was left was a weird gutzy glob , but he was standing proud next to the dish so ..i think its going alright? Its always daunting learning how to manage a living creature so different from any other ive had
My two axolotls, Tulio and Chel, are like Yuki and Ame respectively from Wolf CHildren. One has a voracious appetite and the other takes her time a lot, and she does not like worms very well. Tulio would still only manage one large worm.
Love the style of vlogs, never change the “chit chat”. Very informative finally know why my baby wants two worms a day and then turns his nose up occasionally.
im getting two axolotls from the same store from the same tank. do i still need to quarraniteen them? they are not full grown and im still waiting to cycle my 300L tank. and are blood worms a good main meal for when they are a few months old but not quite adult?
Hi Frankie I need help. I’m raising the babies from my two adults and I have them in Tupperware. Well my bigger ones have their front legs and small back legs now and I think they are about two months old. How big or how old should they be when I can put them in an actual fish tank with a filter? Please help
Thank you so much for these videos! Do you suggest separating the axolotl from its tank and putting it in a small container to feed bloodworms or do you just do that when filming?
Its all good. This is how i roll.... i just learn about these little guys so i searched and looking for info. If i were a subscriber, id know you and would love your style. I recently got one and I got i rescued it from a bad environment from a breader who treated them bad how do I know if it’s ok and is it normal if it not as active 😭 and it’s my first time owning a fish I just had to bring it home and save it!
Hello iv have 3 Axalotls 2 adults n a baby the adults are good but the little one iv had about 4 months but she’d strill small she has a big tank but she’s still not growing
I am getting an axolotl soon and I was wondering if you could make a video on how to come up with good axolotl names. If you see this comment I want to say that you are helping me care for my axolotl when I get one!
I have over fed my axolotl and I tubbed them for a while and once I put them back in the tank they finally pooped again! Now I’m just concerned how often I should feed or if I should wait a few days to make sure I won’t over feed again?
My 4 inch dude ate two red wrigglers and two pellets yesterday and I was amazed at his appetite. First day I had him home! Today he's too full for anything: probably needs a day or two off for a big poo haha
hello! I recently got 2 axolotls and they don't move.. I know they are alive because they try to walk every half an hour, I have NEVER seen any one of them swim one of them eats like 2 - 4 peblets are they healthy ?
Hi Frankie, do you know why does my axolotl only eat when I am not looking at it? It seems to hide whenever I wanna look at it. Is he just shy or is he sick?
I have a puzzle for you so I have 3 year old axolotl always had earth worms however she will take them and spit them out and refuse to eat them im lucky if I can get her to eat 1 small worm a week! She has lost lots of weight my other axolotl that she lives with will eat 2 worms a day she would eat more if I let her haha water all good worms are healthy so any ideas
This is a question I have been wondering but what type of chiller for the tank would you recommend, Where I live it can get hot in the summer, thanks! (Also if it is cheap!)
Binge watched nearly all your vids this weekend 😂👍 great content. Wish this knowledge (& Internet) was around when I had axolotls as a teenager! Can't wait to get some water pups 😍 loving the t shirt!
@@FrankiesUploads Hey I have tried everything with media and bio filter and top filter and everything but the water is not clear and it keeps getting cloudy I'm so tired of not getting a cycle or so... please help me, I have watched your cycle video as well. Can I just have no media and no cycle water and change water frequently instead?
I have some new 3 month old baby’s in my tank and they don’t seem to move that much. They are eating but just look like they like a lot of sleep! Is this ok?
Can you please help me,? There are stickey white things on my aquarium glass that start from the bottom of the glass and take all over. I don't overfeed, I clean every week, the temperature is 18,17 I don't have anything now in the aquarium besides the filtering sponge and stone air. The day after I clean they grow back and they have hairy look but not moving. Just with the water flow they move like hair. I have activated carbon and good bacteria also. They feel slippery and slimmy when you clean and touch stuff in the aquarium.and I know they are not worms. My tank is new about two months. Please help
looking into axolotl care and was wondering were I could get a reliable sauce of axolotl food in the uk? P.s your videos have been super helpful and really informative!
How many times a day do you feed your 3-5 inch juvenile Axolotls? I started feeding them three times a day and they threw up all the food from the last few days worth of feedings. They had only been given bloodworms before I got them and were underfed. I now offer a couple of pellets in the morning and a third of a red wiggler worm at night. Are they supposed to poo daily? Or just every few days?
Hi there, JG. So, how frequently you feed would depend on how much you feed each time. I usually feed one good meal per day, again depending on what I'm feeding would depend on how much. When they are little they do poop more frequently, and as they grow the pooping can become somewhat less frequent. Aslong a they're showing no signs of being constipated I wouldn't raise any alarms.
Your absolutely amazing just the way you are babe ❤🤗 I love your video as they are the real you and people get to see the amazing real frankie what you see is what you get and I'm so proud of you keep up the good work and I have your back every step of the way 🤗❤🦞🐡
Hey Frankies Aquatics, I just recently got two wild female axolotls they are about 7 inches. When will they start getting to know me and there tank, and not hiding all the time? When should I start feeding them? Should I be worried if they dont eat in the first two days? Is it bad if they never move, I know they don't do much, but they are really never moving!! I've been trying to feed them bloodworms, Axolotl food, earthworms and pelletls... They start to look intrested then swim away!! I don't know what to do? is this bad? Please help me.
Feed them 4-3 times every week, they just stay in one spot for a couple hours, that’s fine, just make sure their moving a little, if their not eating, I heard it could be the temperature, but take them to the vet just to be safe
Don’t stop chatting. I bought a axolotl from the pet store and it’s 1inch. I knew about how to care for axolotl but not this small! He’s 2 inches now but I need these videos. Any more to help would be great. Like how long to keep in a tub. Do and don’t
Great video! Do you happen to have a link to the pellets your using? Or any other recommendations for pellets? Also do you have any advice for listing Axolotls for sale in terms of best websites etc? In regards to video suggestions, it would be good to see a video of you packing and shipping Axolotls at some point in the future. You could ask the new owners to take a pic/ video when they arrive at their new home.
Hi there, Ricey. And many thanks for your suggestions! I can absolutely look into creating a video based on your ideas, so leave this with me! As for pellets, if you search for - Arcadia Amphibigold, they are what many of mine really enjoy. You can also try another brand called NT Labs, which are really good too! Hi, I think im about 6 months late to this video. Woops. Im about to start breeding axolotl's. I was wondering if you had any tips at all. I like the amount you talk by the way
I just found your channel, subscribed and I love your chit chat ive never laughed so much at times keep it up and I've got some video watching to do lol
Ok question: could you continue with frozen bloodworm all the way through adulthood and never fully switch to earthworms? Also any thoughts on feeder fish?
I think he’s made a video on that too. I just watched it actually. Bloodworms don’t hold much nutritional value to adult Axies so I don’t think you can feed them purely on bloodworms (they are okay for a treat tho) most people switch to earthworms because it very good for them and helps them grow quite fast. And feeder fish can cause problems like getting stuck in their gills. He says all of this in his video in what to feed I suggest checking that out to get an informed decision! I hope this helps and isn’t too late! :)
@@imnotcreativesoidonthavefu8999 yeah, I found that video, I really appreciate the help. Yeah I just got a rehomed axol and she has been quite shy. I have been using blood worms to cox her out since they don’t run then using worms to feed.
Any suggestions on feeding during quarantine i can't afford the food anymore im looking into harvesting worms from the ground but its winter and can't find any lol 🙃

Hi Frankie...I just got my axolotl a week ago and your videos helps me a lotttttttt...keep doing what you're doing and thank you for all the info! :)
I have over fed my axolotl and I tubbed them for a while and once I put them back in the tank they finally pooped again! Now I’m just concerned how often I should feed or if I should wait a few days to make sure I won’t over feed again?
Thanks for posting a video on this! You were so helpful when I first got mine.
Thank you, Mackenzie! I'm so pleased you've found my content helpful! Thanks for supporting the channel too!
Hey man you’re great!! Keep up the great work. Getting my first axol in the fall so your videos are extremely helpful
Hi Frankie, do you know why does my axolotl only eat when I am not looking at it? It seems to hide whenever I wanna look at it. Is he just shy or is he sick?

Where can I get a shallow tank from please 🙏
How often do I feed newly hatched axolotls? Please
Is live bloodworms better then frozen?
This is a question I have been wondering but what type of chiller for the tank would you recommend, Where I live it can get hot in the summer, thanks! (Also if it is cheap!)
Binge watched nearly all your vids this weekend 😂👍 great content. Wish this knowledge (& Internet) was around when I had axolotls as a teenager! Can't wait to get some water pups 😍 loving the t shirt!
So glad you like them, Lisa! Thanks so much for the support!

Is this ok?
Hey, do you feed them in a separate tub or in their tank ?
Can you please help me,? There are stickey white things on my aquarium glass that start from the bottom of the glass and take all over. I don't overfeed, I clean every week, the temperature is 18,17 I don't have anything now in the aquarium besides the filtering sponge and stone air. The day after I clean they grow back and they have hairy look but not moving. Just with the water flow they move like hair. I have activated carbon and good bacteria also. They feel slippery and slimmy when you clean and touch stuff in the aquarium.and I know they are not worms. My tank is new about two months. Please help
It could be fungus In you’re tank
looking into axolotl care and was wondering were I could get a reliable sauce of axolotl food in the uk? P.s your videos have been super helpful and really informative!
What about feeding live or frozen tubifex worms?
Do you ever use freeze-dried
I’m watching from Florida, USA. I like listening to you, chat away sir!
Your absolutely amazing just the way you are babe ❤🤗 I love your video as they are the real you and people get to see the amazing real frankie what you see is what you get and I'm so proud of you keep up the good work and I have your back every step of the way 🤗❤🦞🐡
Thank you so much my love. Your support is everything! xxxxx
I'll link you to both below via Amazon UK)

How big do the axolotl‘ have to be to start eating earth worms
I got a wild type a couple weeks ago I named it Skipper. Every day I say ahoy Skipper
Do you have a good link for axolotyl pellets?
you always brighten up our day🌻💞
I agree with you 100%
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much, Kirsty. Your support means everything!
I like them as is, your videos have helped us tremendously with our new little guy over the past year
Ok question: could you continue with frozen bloodworm all the way through adulthood and never fully switch to earthworms?
Where do you buy the blood worms?
You can buy frozen blood worms from most pet stores. Failing that you should find them online! :)
Can you feed a young one straight blood worms ?
Keep talking I find your videos more interesting and entertaining than others
Frankie you're adorable! You make me smile so much! Ignore that hater! 🙄👊
Any suggestions on feeding during quarantine i can't afford the food anymore im looking into harvesting worms from the ground but its winter and can't find any lol 🙃
Continue your talking! I love it!!
I like ur chitter chatter & you should make another axolotl video, they’re great!
