This week we have stories about Adorama needing to apologize for posting rumored specs for the Canon EOS R1. Fuji announced new cameras in the X-T50 and GFX 100S. And finally, are these rumored specs of the Canon R5 Mark II real? If they are, it might be better than the R1.

@@froknowsphoto I don't mean to target you personally, I'm pointing the finger at the entire youtube game (ie how many channels are at their twelfth "rumoured r1 specs" video..)
I can see the Adorama slip up being an intentional one just to keep the buzz alive, wouldn't be the first time we saw the marketing department of a company do mistakes such as this one.
In relation to this specific video? I'll say the title claiming "potentially" better r5ii specs compared to projected r1. We all know that will never happen..

Because more often than not, your videos often contains short speculative bits that do not provide any solid info or the title-topic is a very short segment of the overall video.
Its not bad since the content of your video (typically) covers the info that is actually public. What people most likely mean by clickbait, is that the title (sometimes) makes it seem like there is either additional info or that the topic of the title would be covered in deeper lenght.
If it were me, I would love to hear you talk more about the topic covered in the title, even if its just a longer talk about wishlists or fixes. Cameras are tools, but so are phones, laptops and most tech. Yet, there is always excitement when a new gear is launched. In my opinion, you should take advantage of it. This is different from a minute-short speculative bit, where the overall content does not match the title too closely, because there are also other newsbits in the video.
I think the main issue is that these segments end up so short, that for some people its not really any different from reading a headliner on a website. Since the segments are so shorts, the speculative bits ends up carrying the title-topic, and it does not always come across too well, because the content is short and the title sometimes elude to something more than just public info. I think that if you want to add speculation, you should go all the way after covering the public info, and keep the title slighty more tame. Again, just my opinion. So its more an issue of “lenght” and matching the expectations of the title.

Jan has a solid track record with Canon rumors. I wouldn't bet against him being right. Honestly, my R5 is fine. How much more do you need?
Always love a weekly update, although i got confused and had to go back to 5:08 where he said Cannon lens when talking about Fuji, then realised it was a small mistake . thanks as always for this weekly camera fix in your own inimitable style

I am so glad that you are smarter than the UA-camrs that have all the R1 "info"! It makes it hard for us that work for Canon at trade shows because we have to inform them that info has not been released and they reply back with hiw they saw it on a video or a website! Thank you for the facts vrs "having the info first". Helps people believe what is said here in other videos even more. Now Canon making a Fujifilm GF500mm lens.. I don't know about that one 😉 Great video as usual! GG

1. R1, probably gonna happen but I donno!
2. Might be over 30 megapixels probably!
3. It would make sense for it to shoot really fast!
4. Expect it to be big as hell!
R5 Mark II.
1. It’ll shoot pictures!
2. It might be at least 45 megapixels, but I’m not sure.
3. Stack sensor could happen. But it also could not happen!
4. Probably should shoot video or something.
5. It might look the same or it could look different! I don’t know.

First of all.... the R1 specs that "leaked" looked fishy to me.
If the R5 has those specs then there will be a lot of R3 users going to the R5 ii.
If the R5 MKII specs are correct, I don't think I'll need to upgrade ever. So still holding on until it finally arrives on the shelves.
If it were true…why would anyone buy an R3! That’s my thought process at leasr

PS, not trying to knock Jared, that is a lot of info he brings to us.
Sadly not Canon.
Given the fact that current mirrorless bodies are used as much or more for video than stills I think it was shortsighted of Canon not to incorporate space for a VND into the mount for RF lenses. I realized how great that would be for CLOG2 video at ISO800 after buying a R6mkII and using it with my old EF mount lenses and a VND EF-RF adapter.

Jared it would be interesting to hear your thoughts of the new Fujifilm 100Sii I'm a Canon shooter with the R5 R3 with all the RF lenses But I feel it would be fun to shoot with MF I do like the idea of the 20 film simulations. When I was a film shooter I loved the idea of using all the different types of color and B+W films between Fuji Kodak Ilford with my Hasselblad system. Medium format is getting better and less expensive. I like the DR you get with MF I did try out the Hasselblad X2D What a fun experience shooting with that. Easy to use as an iPhone and the colors were amazing just super expensive to get into that system

Honestly, the R5 is still ahead of its time in many ways and certainly a step above a lot of the competition. I would see no need to upgrade.
Dear Fujifilm, as someone invested heavily in the GFX family (2 bodies and 5 lenses) I ask that you please send Jared a GFX 100s II (or a GFX 100 II!) + GF 500mm telephoto lens and let’s see what he can do!
well we will see what happens but it should be much better than the R5 but i heard a whisper about with the New AI in the R5 Mark 2 we may have to buy a subscription on top of the camera can you find out any information
Question to those that may have better knowledge, but how come digital sensors have not made a proper 6x4.5, 6x6, or 6x9 format for the market? I know I may be hyper fixated on the size, but I do find it a little odd that amidst all the other formats we have that we do not have a true 6x medium format sensor. Are there specific technical limitations?
We are reaching (reached) peaks camera features at this point. What else is there to add in order for you to shoot a wedding, talking head, and some B-roll.
There's always improving noise at laughably high ISO, more stabilization and lenses with bigger zoom ranges without being super slow. And working that into smaller and smaller cameras.

@@robertdane1212 for some, that's actually important and understandably so. That doesn't mean very high iso with low noise isn't another goal. And shoot, even real ISO 10 would be great to have in certain situations.

I still have over heating issues with R5… granted i’m using outside in mid to warm weather and 40% of my shots are slow mo, but still heat displacement is neeeeded

Did you guys see what 'fro did there? He totally discounted the rumors about the R1 from Canon Rumors but totally accepted the rumors about the Canon R5 ii which is scheduled to be released next month according to rumors. And then he told us he often tests cameras and agree not to publish the review until the camera is released. Does Jared already have the R5 ii in his hands and is testing it as we speak?

6:03 exactly what ive been saying and getting downvoted for. No way Canon cannibalize R3 sales. Every leak said progressively reeled back the sensor and no way its going to be "stacked".
The "AI" features will compensate for rolling shutter under specific scenarios. Otherwise, same sensor as the mk1.
In typical Canon fashion, this is a software update that is locked to a new product.
Edit: R1 specs came out a fair bit less than the leaks. Expect the same with the R5mk2.

The only downside to the r5mkii would be the mechanical shutter. It’s time to ditch this and go fully electronic.

That fujifilm XT50 is a beautiful piece of tech. It reminds me of my old Elan II that had the retro styling as well, except it does it even better.
I’m not going to switch off of canon for it because I have far too much sunk into RF glass to even consider such a thing, but damn that is pretty. Maybe the body and a nifty fifty at some point?

I got my GFX 50s for 1700 and it has a full-size hand grip. The fifty mega pickle files are still freaking too big for my dinky computer.
